  • 1. Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box; cool completely.
    2. Crumble cake into a large bowl. Add frosting and mix thoroughly.
    3. Roll mixture into 1″ sized balls using a meatballer. Visit my Amazon storefront, link below to purchase the meatballer. Chill for approximately 1-2 hours in the refrigerator.
    4. Melt your favorite candy in melt in a microwaveable try according to directions on package.
    5. Insert a lollipop stick into each cake ball. Dip cake pops in candy melts allow excess coating to drip off. Place in Styrofoam block to set.
    6. Once set, pipe on baseball stitches with red candy melts or red cookie icing.
TIP: If cake bites become too soft or are not holding their shape while being dipped, place back in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.

Have you ever done a cake pop soccer ball similar to this baseball cake pop?

Thank you for your video! I am a cake pop maker as well and was specifically looking for a baseball video that used royal icing. This was perfect! Have you found that the icing smears if you bag the cake pop? Or does it tend to dry pretty well? Would love any advice before I start using it. Love the clean lines that it leaves versus the Candy melts. Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment. It does not smear and dries great. Before wrapping the cake pops I allow it to dry in the stand for about 30 minutes or just to make sure that it is harden before wrapping.

Using the icing is a great tip! Do they dry the same as candy melts? Also can we use store bought cookie icing for this?Thankyou for sharing and the cakepops look amazing I always thought making baseball cakepops is so complicated but you made it look so easy-peasy!😊

I used the red cookie icing from Walmart. They dry the same as candy melts.
