Thank you for showing your enthusiasm for teaching! It's hard being a teacher when a lot of teachers around you will talk about the negatives of teaching. It's awesome seeing someone so passionate for this profession and willing to help other teachers struggling with anything in the classroom.
Dear Miss May, I have been a teacher for quite a long time and right now I want to be a student in your class. Please. Thanks for those fantastic tips.
I love your advices about classroom procedures and I like the idea "you have to sell it " you are right and the kids are very intelligent they feel when it is true . Please make us a video about music transition and its importance and how to use it . Thank you from Morroco ❤
Miss May, I am a brand new teacher, will be teaching Kindergarten. I must say you are my North Star. Thank you so much for posting these. You are such an immense help to me.
I'm going into my third year of teaching and I must say the one thing I miss the most about student teaching is being able to observe other teachers in the classroom. You are an amazing educator and your students are very lucky to have you!
YOU ARE A LIFESAVER!!! I'm a 1st year with barely 6 months in teaching 1st grade. I' started the certification process in July and was a late hire in my district and a career changer. I had zero training initially. I didn't know, what I didn't know in education (still don't). Thank you Miss May for helping me provide more quality education your explanation of procedures and how to handle constant interruptions.
I've been binge watching your videos! I'm currently working part time as a paraeducator and enrolled in a program for my Bachelor's in Elementary Education! You are a model teacher of what I aspire to be! Thank you for sharing! 🥰❤️
Awwwww, thank you so very much! Thank you for your service as a paraeducator. I have so much respect for all that you do! Many blessings to you in your new journey. ((HUGS))
Love it. Not a reward, or point, or rainbow chart to be seen. Clear routines and procedures and consistency win the day. Modeling! Most importantly interesting and engaging content! I will share your videos with teachers I'm training. Thanks again.
I learned so much from your video! Miss May can you please do a video on your experience with handling and teaching students who are defiant and display negative behavior.
Miss May, thank you so much! I am a first year teacher in 1st grade and I love the idea of the bathroom passes and transition music. I do t want to be a teacher who yells so this will certainly help. Thanks!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL video!! I am in college now taking a classroom management class for primary grades. The topic for this week is all about procedures and routines and I learned so much from your video. I am excited to watch the next one. Thank you once again and keep posting the awesome videos!!
+Martha Greenbee Thank you so much Martha! I appreciate your amazing support!!! So glad that you are finding helpful things for yourself. Congrats on almost being a senior in college! ((Hugs)) and Blessings
Miss. May!!! I am not a big RUclips person but I recently stumbled upon your channel and I have watched all your videos. I just love you and your teaching style. I had a difficult year last year as it was my first in first grade and you have given me fresh ideas and reminders, and got me feeling hopeful for a good year. Please keep the tips coming! I would love your advice on the first week(s) of school. Such a crucial time that’s got me anxious. Thank you for reading and for all you do! Wishing you a wonderful year 😊 God bless!
This is fabulous! I took over a kinder class about 6 weeks into school. So I'm incorporating some of the other teachers procedures but adding my own. It's been tough for the kids and me. But these are great!
Continuously going to the bathroom and drinking water is my main problem in the classroom..Everytime someone raised a hand it disrupts my class..This tips are so helpful❤ . Thanks for sharing💕
Thank you so much for creating a procedure that respects their privacy for the bathroom and isn't unnecessarily restrictive and gives the little kids dignity and freedom. I love this so much.
Thank you so much for this. I will be a certified teacher next year and classroom management is one thing that I feel like I do not know enough about. This has been so helpful
I absolutely love how you explain your procedures! I thought your procedures regarding the markers was incredible. I find myself constantly telling students that the color they pick doesn't matter and they continue to keep digging for a specific one. The separate colors are a great idea!
I love your procedures you explains inside your classroom and how to make sure you set procedures model when student teaching inside the classroom. I love that Im definitely gonna use some us these rules for my portfolio.
Miss May, I'm a first year teacher to firsties in a few days. I swear I just learned way more in this video than in my teaching courses. I'm so grateful for discovering your page 10 min ago. Thank you so much because I'm terribly nervous !
I LOVE your channel! I've been binge watching all of your videos for the past week and a half because I'm starting student teaching next week and you are just so inspirational! You also give amazing tips and advice!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Congrats on your student teaching. I'm sure you're going to be fab and enjoy it! Many blessings to you sunshine! ((Hugs))
Giving you a round of applause 👏 for all of this! As a fellow teacher with upper elementary, I believe so strongly in procedures and routines. We definitely have to teach these skills directly and consistently. Love your tips and love that beautiful bright yellow shirt. 💛
This is helpful for me as a homeschooling Mom. This is our first year and I am working on routines as well as my patience transitioning from teaching school-based work versus day-to-day theme.
Hi Miss May, I like to use music to help with procedures and routines. I use a tidy up song, line up song, Good morning song, transition song. I find it really helps with a smooth running of the classroom. Thanks for sharing all your ideas about procedures and routines. I always learn allot from your videos.
+Rocking Dan Teaching Man Rocking Dan doesn't the music make such a HUGE difference?! Plus it does create a very cozy and warm classroom environment. Thanks for your support as always Dan! Have a fab week! ((Hugs))
You are awesome! I have been teaching 32 years and just discovered you in preparation for a STOIC training tomorrow. Always, always looking for fun, engaging, better ways to do things, so I've clicked "subscribe." I look forward to learning all your good tips but also to feeding off your sweet enthusiasm and obvious love of teaching. I know this video is 2 years old, but I'm hoping you are still "at it" and putting out videos.
Thank you Miss.May for taking time to make these videos. I'm teaching First Grade this coming school year and your videos are helping me feel better prepared. 💛
OMG Ms. May, Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! YOUR BATHROOM PROCEDURES WORKS!!!! After studying all your classroom management and procedures/routine videos I've stolen some, borrowed a couple, and mixed some of my own to get all the procedures in place like you said. I've had the best first week of school after drilling "procedures" into my third graders. Sending you and your students hope and prayers, and wishing y'all a good school year. *muah*
I was a Director and former pre k teacher things you say and do remind me of what I use to do. Now that im pursuing law school seeing your videos makes me want to return to the learning environment. I love and appreciate your videos. I pray my daughter has multiple teachers like you although, I would be grateful if she could be a student in your class. I am praying for your classroom to continue to be a leading example of what a true learning atmosphere and being a passionate educator looks like. I will subscribe, take care.
I am loving the classroom management procedures series! I use music for transitions and have a procedure for EVERYTHING. That is the only way to stay sane and get things done in a day. I found an awesome app that you use as a timer and you can assign different music to each alarm and then I don't have to keep track of time. The kids learn what each song means and it keeps us on track. It's called Timeless, I believe and I ❤️ it!
Aren't music transitions amazing?! I just love and adore them. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't have music in the classroom. I will check out that timer app. Thank you for sharing! ((HUGS))
This was very helpful. I work at an after school program and this was something I've struggled with. But this is giving me inspiration for the upcoming year. Thank you so much! I love the idea of music during transition. God bless sis!
So glad this was helpful to you! Thank you so much! Music in the classroom for transitions in my saving grace for sure. God bless you too sis! ((HUGS))
I love how realistic your expectations are about the bathroom breaks! Great job. By the way, you're an inspiration to this first year teacher!!! I'm binge watching your videos! :)

Thank you so much for showing this! I already have my list of first day procedures created and I will use this video as a guide to what each procedure should look like and sound like. I have 6 initial procedures with several embedded into other procedures (those which I will also model what it should look like and sound like). You are an amazing teacher! By the way, please pray for me as I prepare for my certification exams! 😀
