I don't usually wish bad luck but hopefully Palau stays towards the back end and my boy Scotty one can come through for the most unlikely of championships. 🙏🇳🇿🙏

Scott Dixon is a machine. The fact that his only winless years in CART/IndyCar are 2002 (his team folded mid-season then he went to Ganassi in a third car, who probably had one eye on their impending switch to the IRL for 2003) and 2004 (Toyota had a poor engine) is mad. And it's rare that he's not in at least mathematical contention for the championship in the final few rounds of a given season. His consistency is pretty immense. I suppose part of it is team stabiltiy; he's been with Ganassi for over twenty years after all, but mostly it's just his driving. He's always just there, hovering in the background, picking up wins, even if only one or two a season, and just generally racking up the points. Easily the GOAT of modern IndyCar.

Great work on your race coverage. Rahal’s a good driver, I was rooting for him. But Dixon’s a legend, along with Mike Hull for strategy.
So many drivers can’t think past a lap, or even an overtake. To re-calculate your race, and keep your cool never giving up. No wonder that guy has so many championships under his belt. Master class from a Legend.

I noticed that after the first round of pit stops that it was possible for Dixon to win and I bet the live line accordingly. Can’t believe the announcers missed it. Biggest winner of the year for me outside of Newgarden at Indy. Dixon is such a legend

That’s awesome. I was at the race watching the live timing on my phone, and I swear every time I looked Scott was top 3 fastest on track. And yea after that first stop I was like, holy shit Dixon can win this thing.

After he made it to about lap 30 I was thinking the exact same thing and couldn’t believe it took the announcers another 20ish laps to mention he had a shot. Fun to witness such a great drive in person.

@@GivingChase2 oh for sure. He has never been an obvious fast guy. He can be but he is consistently fast and smooth and often will use less fuel than any other guy by a long shot. This will win races because it gives the strategy options on fuelling less and shorter stops. That is free time. Couple that with his consistently being fast and he just ends up winning. And what is galling is after two decades people still wonder what he is doing. I was there Saturday and I figured it out when he cycled to the lead and stayed out long past the others in that first half of the race. How Townsend Bell seemed doubtful about this working is stunning. I knew if he didn't win it was only Graham who was going to beat him.
