    Incredible work with a fine mix between racing and off track events. The 3 hours content highlights how real and dense this rivalry was about. Add into this that rest of the pack included fancy names like Lauda, Piquet, Rosberg, Mansell, Laffite, Arnoux, Patrese, Schumacher, Berger, Hill…Prost was originally a nearby neighbor, but overtime I couldn’t resist becoming an Ayrton fan. I lost forever passion for F1 on May 1st 94.

      Do you blame Prost for vetoing senna? Especially after their 2 years at McLaren.
      You know how difficult it is to work with a toxic person at the office.
      Can you imagine working with that toxicity in F1????
      Senna vetoed drivers all the time.
      Elio De Angelis, Derrick Warwick. Mansell!!!!
      Senna worked hard to find drivers that would tow his line and play second fiddle in all the teams he drove for.
      Interesting fact. Prost in his entire never. Let me repeat that again, Prost in his entire F1 career never ever had number one status in all the teams he raced for.
      And don’t forget, Prost’s teammates during his career were
      1 / Niki Lauda 3 times world champion
      2/ senna 3 times world champion
      3/ Rosberg world champion
      4/ Mansell world champion
      5/ Damon Hill world champion.
      No driver in history had to race teammates of that elite calibre.
      And he lost by half a point in 84’ to Niki Lauda only to beat him in 85’.
      He only lost to senna in 88’ only because of the archaic points system. He should have won the 88’ championship if it wasn’t for the top 11 results rule. He then beat senna in 89’. In his 12 years in F1, he was only beaten by a team mate twice not including his first season.
      Both times he went on to beat both of those drivers.

    • @John-mi2rt
      @John-mi2rt 2 месяца назад +3

      @@thedorianmode8087 Prost had no choice to be teammates to Lauda, Senna, Mansell and Hill. When he was the established driver within a team he chose Cheever and Johansson as teammates. Even Rosberg in 1986 was a good result for Prost as Mclaren wanted Senna.
      When did Senna veto De Angelis and Mansell?
      Ask Damon Hill was he number two to Prost at Williams in 1993
      Typical Prost nutjob. Mentioning the best 11 results as the reason Prost lost in 1988 but failing to mention that the only reason Prost won in 1989 was the three victories lost by Senna through no fault of his own in Phoenix Canada and Monza. The fact is Prost did not beat Senna on the road in 1989.

    • @DuxDrive
      @DuxDrive 2 месяца назад +5

      @@John-mi2rt Lot of what you said has been nonsense. Senna has vetoed both Angelis and Warwick. Prost wanted Senna in McLaren. Not McLaren. I am someone who idolizes Senna, has number of paintings of him in my house, and Senna is probably the reason why I begun watching F1. But the truth is the truth. Prost vetoed Senna in Williams with the sole reason that - Senna was ready to die in a car - Prost wasn't. And that was a risk Prost wouldn't ever take. In his career he already seen death - with Pironi, his close friend, who would lose both of his legs in front of Prost's eyes. Senna never had to witness death until 31st of April. So it is very different mental game for both.
      To call Prost nutjob, you're just not worthy to comment on the matter. Prost is arguably the greatest ever driver who, when conditions would be right for him, no one was able to beat him. Not even Senna.

    • @DuxDrive
      @DuxDrive 2 месяца назад +3

      He did because Senna was very toxic to work with. I don't attack Senna, that is just the fact. Senna brought very hard racing. First in Portugal Prost was livid with Senna, contrary to that is said in public - if you read the book Senna vs Prost the deadliest rivalry in motorsport, you'd know.
      Further more when Senna broke the agreement in Imola the next year, the situation was detoriating very very fast. By the mid season, Prost didn't want to have anything with Senna. Which is why he said he will leave McLaren - for he had no support within the team.

      How was he the most “complete” when he couldn’t drive in the wet weather conditions???? Senna was faster in rain, faster in Monaco and faster in Spa! The only thing that Prost use cleverly over Senna was collecting the points and not taking the risk of losing the position. Senna was an force of a nature who was pure racer who sometimes squeezed his cars too much. If they raced in more reliable era Senna would be far more successful over Prost. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Prost and think he was an amazing driver. No one in the history of F1 had the same talent as Senna.

      Lauda on Senna

    • @Klubargutan
      @Klubargutan Месяц назад +1

      @@MM-lp5pp You are delusional if you call Senna better. His attitude was "go hard or go home", always trying to max out the performance of his car. Prost instead contributed heavily towards a car's improvement, and drove as safe as possible.
      And yet, both in their entire carreers AND their 142 GPs that both raced together, Prost had higher win/gp ratio, points/gp ratio, fastest lap/gp ratio, more wins, points and fastest laps, and only tallied behind in poles.
      Even in 1988, when Senna won the championships, Prost had 11 points more, but the dumb rule of "best 11 out of 16" made Senna the champion. Even in 1989, when Senna was crying about having his title "stolen" from him, we would STILL have fewer total points even if he had won the final race and Prost did not score enough points, because of that rule. Senna's reckless driving contributed to him getting more mechanical failures/crashes than usual, and his disgusting attitude "i see a gap, i go there, good luck to you" was the cause of those 2 crashes he had with Prost.
      Furthermore, driving carefully during a rain is a smart move. Senna could have easily killed himself given how he used to drive during the rain, while Prost - smart and skilled - played the long game. Also, Prost won 4 championships, had the most "all races" points in a 5th (which he lost by 3 points), lost another one (1984) by 0,5 points, and another one (1983) by 2 points.
      And ultimately, guess who killed himself during a race, and who retired safe and sound, after winning his final championship, where he also scored the most FLs, Poles and wins?
      To summarize: to intelligent people, Prost was by far superior than Senna. To simpletons, who only saw "the raw speed" on a track and "flashy, dangerous moves", Senna was better.

      You don't have to be sorry for being a Prost Fan. I think Prost doesn't get the Respect he deserves. I personally must say i like both of them and what made the rivalry so interesting was that both were total opposite to each other. It took me about 2-3 Months making this Video (looking thru all the footage, cutting, music etc) and still after i finished the video i couldn't take a side for either one of them. They were both special in their own right.
      But what i would say is that the Media is definitely Senna biased.

    1) 1988: prost score more points than Senna, should give title to prost

    1992: prost out of season
    1984: by Half point, prost was near to. Be World champion
    Thats why senna respect prost
    Now6, if you want someone faster, rainy races, pole position, you have Senna
    Prost was the best f1 driver but not quick as Senna, because he dont need it
    Why People are obsess with senna, senna was not the best f1 driver,
    Faster yes.. But in those days, cars fail a lot x so Strategy was important inbthe 80s..
    Too many Kids believe that 80s was reliable as today, completely wrong,
    First watch 80s races and then judge Who was best f1 driver
    Senna knew that, besides 1991 was a easy championsh for senna,
    Berger was born to be second
    Besides, senna banned Few drivers at lotus team, nobody talks that
    Its seems talk about senna its a. God, and prost the evil

      Utter rubbish. Prost did not 'sponsor' Senna to join Mclaren. Prost had the choice of Piquet or Senna as team mate for 1988. This was a stipulation by Honda. He picked what he thought would be the lesser of two evils.
      1984 Half a point. If he hadn't waved to get the Monaco race stopped he might of got more points. If he hadn't hit the wall in Dallas while leading comfortably with few laps to go he would have won the championship by 8.5. If he hadn't spun out of Austria blah. blah. Prost wasn't unlucky in 1984. He just made mistakes
      Prost was a Ferrari driver in 1990. I wonder how much of his imput was used in the development of 'the truck'
      Prost either didn't understand the scoring system used in 1988 or just couldn't do anything about it. Deserved title by Senna

    Eternal shame on Honda to have tried to advantage one driver against the other one, just for marketing & commercials reasons.
    25km/h difference in the pit straight of Monza in 1989 has shown their f... game.
    Luckily, FIA & Ron Dennis put the pressure on Honda to stop their little game for the end of 1989 season. That's the reason why during this race both drivers have the same pace (as all the time in 1988).

      You realise senna still needed to win in Australia. And senna crashed into Brundle in the rain at Adelaide. Senna dive bombed Prost in 89 and even senna never blamed Prost.
      How’s this. In 88 and 89, Prost out scored senna both years. He only lost in 88 due to the ridiculous top 11 results rule. The top 11 results rule ended in 1991 and I’m yet to hear a driver ask for the top 11 results rule to be reinstated in nearly 35 years!
      And remember this, senna stopped a number of wet races. I remember he stopped a very wet Australian gp.
      If today’s points were used in the last 40 years, Prost would be a 7 times world champion and senna would be a one time world champion.

      Prost was the best woman?? I don’t know if you heard prosts interview after he won at Monaco in 84’, he said, if senna was closer he would have waived senna through because senna wasn’t in the championship race. And if the race went for a couple more laps and senna did pass him, it would have meant that the race went over the 75% race distance and full points were awarded and Prost would have gotten 6 points for second instead of 4.5 points for the win which means he would have won the world championship by 1 1/2 points over Niki lauda instead of losing the championship by half a point. Senna also hit the barrier while chasing Prost, and when the team engineer for toleman checked sennas car, he told senna that he was lucky that the race finished early because sennas car wouldn’t have lasted another lap before breaking completely. But you also forget that Stefan bellof was catching senna faster than senna catching Prost and would have overtaken senna. Prost won 51 times, world champion 4 times and came second 4 times. In 1984 he lost the title by half a point because of Monaco and in 1988 Prost scored a lot more points than senna but because of the ridiculous top 11 results rule, Prost was punished because he was a lot more consistent than senna. Prost had 2 championships robbed from him which would have made him a 6 times world champion and senna a 2 times champion. And then senna rammed Prost off at Suzuka 1990 at 185mph at turn 1 because senna knew that if Prost got in front after turn 1, senna was never going to beat Prost fair and square so senna cheated instead. That would have made Prost a 7 times world champion. Prost was a far better racer than senna ever was.
