    Alex should’ve gotten penalized.
    He wasn’t gonna lose the title anyway.

    Could it be looked at that he covered the inside line and the "block" was him regaining the racing line for the corner? On a straight it would be a blocking penalty for sure but the corner and the racing line might just be enough to make it a tough call... I honestly don't know and am sure wiser heads may have a better answer.

    Yeah that was very puzzling that they decided to do nothing there. Just the kind of year Palou is having, driving like crazy and the little things like this going his way as well.

    should have been a penalty.
    Also the green flag after the crash was strange,
    cars shouldn't have been allowed to pit. should have been yellow like usual.

    What do you think, was Alex's Incident worthy of a penalty?

    • @spendiin
      @spendiin Год назад +2

      I think so because he did move in reaction to Castroneves

      Of course.
      And that yellow flag... hummm

      As a Dixon fan, yes why not. Would have given a chance at a 3 win streak

    I really don't know the rules in indycar but in F1 that move would've been completely legal. 1 move to defend and 1 back to the racing line.

      The key in indycar is moving in reaction. It just really looks like he moves to the right in reaction, then back to the left in reaction, regardless of if it was back to the racing line or not. I’ll admit it’s a close call, but in my opinion absolutely worthy of review.

    It didn't decide the title. I like Scott, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for him, but it wasn't a title deciding thing. Alex definitely deserved a penalty of some kind, but Alex is good enough at Laguna and Portland to make up for whatever points he'd have lost from a penalty

    • @GivingChase2
      @GivingChase2  Год назад +4

      I agree Alex still probably wins at least 9 times out of 10. I just mean it ultimately sealed it up for him when they decided to not investigate.

      As a Dixon fan, it pains my heart to agree on this.

      @@GivingChase2 That's fair, but I honestly prefer not having any hope for Scott to win the title in Laguna, avoids dreams being crushed

      @michaelhenderson3309 Год назад

      True, and in fact it probably didn't even decide the race. The penalty for a block is just yield position. It's hard to say how much it would've cost Palou had he let Castro back by, but given that Castroneves pits a lap and a half later I don't think it costs Palou much more than 2-3 seconds. I think Palou still undercuts Dixon even if he's penalized

    9:45 I'm sorry but this just isn't true. All the blocking penalties this season that I remember have been repositioning penalties so usually giving the place to the driver who got blocked

  • @AliKat123
    @AliKat123 Год назад +4

    Don't think it decided the championship. At the time thought he moved left to defend and then back on the racing line for the corner so not a block, but I don't really know.
    May also just be biased as a Palou fan.😊

    Unbelievable. Yet they immediately slam-dunked Dixon at Laguna Seca for a racing incident that was not caused by him..... biased ****** .
    Thank God he still won that race.

    Just think how much better the IRL would be if they still had Ms. Patrick?

    There are three things for me to say. I'm watching F1 since 1992 and CART/IndyCar "some races" since the 90s and I am a regular IC viewer since 2017 (= every race).
    1) I'm happy that IndyCar is infrequent with penalties. Man this F1 penalty system sucks. It's top of the range sport, billions of $$$ decisions, and they HAVE TO keep their rules otherwise every driver's going bezerk.
    2) I like Alex Palou, but this blocking against Helio was stupid and unnecessary. Castroneves went to the pits this (or next?) lap. His team should be aware of this. It was worth a penalty.
    3) You forgot the caution issue that robbed off Dixon's last chance. IndyCar should throw the caution ASAP. Everything else is artificial. Or keep the FCY for ovals and do local yellows on road/street courses.

    • @GivingChase2
      @GivingChase2  Год назад +2

      I agree I don’t like this business of “waiting” to throw the yellow, when they know for a fact they’ll be throwing one.

  • @Craig_Simpson

    Should have been a penalty

    That’s why I struggle to watch Indycar. I am a fan of Scott Dixon but that block was so obvious I couldn’t believe they did nothing. I can’t stand when this happens and it happens a lot in Indycar. This one has probably stopped my interest.
