I bought 2, one got here a few weeks ago. I knew something was going to happen, where it would be hard to get one.
This is why I like building my own stuff.... Just hoping parts don't go up in price like this because I have plans to build a couple of bikes.

@@MikeFede - I can do any bikes but right now I'm upgrading my Razor MX650 (slowly but surely) but I have plans to make a very fast BMX bike... I was thinking 72v 3kw rear hub motor or a 72v 2kw dual hub motor setup. I want something that scares the crap out of people when they see it accelerate... And of course, nobody will be allowed to ride it on full power, maybe setting 1 but it's still going to be scary fast. 😁👍

Tariffs remain historically economically hurtful to buyers. They aren’t entirely without merit but are a blunt tool.
There's no tariff here in Canada, Tesla won't survive too, they already have trouble selling their cars, cost 4 times less to build a EV in China vs America, so even with a 100% tariff, Chinese EVs will still be a lot cheaper.
I also only ever build my own e-bikes for last 20 years but the parts of sourced from China will go up it includes key component parts like motors and controllers
Chinese batteries are pretty low quality, we need a list of non chinese bikes so as to shop smarter.
Bruh even the so called American brands are using Chinese batts and motors and if they are doing everything inhouse so to speak you willing to pay 10k plus cuz that's what they will cost if so better to just get a car for that amount
The electric motorcycles are going up by 100% not 25%. They fall under electric vehicles. E-bikes had an exemption that the Biden administration let expire. Previously, EVs were subject to the 25% tariff, we had to pay it on our last shipment. Now that will be 100%+, there's an older tariff that also still applies at 2.5%. Yeah, buy your Surron or Talaria now. I did a video on this weeks ago.
I was lucky I found a site that still sold the velotric discover 2 for its original $1699 ...YIPEEEEEE....of course I ordered it immediately.
Sounds good, awesome ebikes. I recently bought 2 different companies ebikes recently. Get stuff while you can and have it to ride.
I won't be paying any 25% tariff for any e-bike! I guess I will be limited to the ones I already own! Unless this is undone, I will not be buying any more e-bikes and such unless it's made somewhere else other than China, and at a good price!
Some of these bikes such as Super73, even Surron are WAY overpriced already (not sure how much Super73 is affected on parts cost, since they are a US company, but no doubt order supply from China). 25% makes these e-bike purchases a hard no for me. My next set of bikes is going to be gas and/or pedal powered. I guess the resale of my e-bikes will bump too, so at least there's that!
Are there really any good affordable fully american made ebikes? I think this needs to become a reality before tariffing the shit out of stuff we don't actually have affordable alternatives to in the US. One thing I think current Ebike companies should do to soften the blow of these tariffs is to give better support and warranties maybe 18 months or 2 years instead of the standard 1 year.
If these things don't happen, the new affordable ebike is going to be the cheapy amazon or walmart fire hazard bike that used to be 500$ that's now under tariff 800$.

I pre-ordered a bike, they got my funds May 15th. Delivery is set to be 3rd week of June to 1st week of July. It's a new company, Are they going to take a hit 25% on a $2600 bike? I'm not going to pay more AFTER the deal has been done..... There should be some "Ground rules here"

Good job on letting people know. As the owner of a manufacturing business, I can tell you when cost go up industrywide, prices will reflect that. We have all seen that in the cost of everything over the past four years. Now about the politics. I recognized long ago that they are just using the tried and trued, divide and conquer. They even proudly admit they are the opposite. The right and the left. The only problem is, one is the right cheek, the other is the left cheek. They both are on the same……. Let’s just say tail end. This is a by product of China keeping the value of their currency down, gives them a competitive edge. Our competitive edge is innovation and a higher standard of quality which comes at a higher price. What would an equal ebike cost made in America
