  • PTO Switch Replacement- New Holland TC 45DA
    Earlier this Fall I had an issue with the tractor thinking the pto was engaged when it wasn't, so I decided to change the pto switch. Here is a "how to" in case you need to change yours!!

    Glad you got the plug replaced, Chris. I had to chuckle when you said nickel & dime items. Glad the part didn't cost too much. Full-watch. 👍🏽😊.

      Thank you! Yup, I have replaced quite a few electrical items on this tractor and actually have one more video coming out later this month on another minor repair lol

    Whatever happened to to good old days when we didn't need safety switches on everything. We just new not to stop or start the tractor with the pto engaged. Thanks for the how to video.

      LOL Too many people without common sense started buying tractors I think :) And then engineers thought it would be fun to keep adding more and more electronic crap as the years have gone by. Some of it wouldn't be so bad if they would let the average mechanic work on it, but making you take stuff to the dealer is ridiculous!

    PTO? Power take off? Job well done! Might be easier if companies keep in mind replacing parts might be a tad bit easier with some room! Lol

      Yes, you got it right! Some places are very tight to work in and cause many bad words to come out lol

    Oh the dang PTO safety...Maybe a southern tractor. My tractor from MS has had pretty much every piece of rubber/plastic replaced!!

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  3 года назад +1

      Possibly- it did come from a dealer in southern PA, and they have dealerships in Maryland too so who knows. At least it has been a good tractor so far :)

    So I have a tc40 and the pto stops turning sometimes on hills. Then I have to let it sit and cool down 2-3 hours and then I can engage the pto again. When the Pto stops turning, the arms won't work either. I changed the trans filter last year but it didn't help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    The safety is good but it can put you in a bine at times lol and we always need an extra hand when doing that stuff

    What ever happened to a lever, PTO on or off..

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  3 года назад +1

      It actually does have a lever- this switch just tells the tractor whether the pto is on or off. I guess I didn't explain that very well LOL

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm ah.. for the people who can't tell if the lever is in or out of gear... And don't have any idea how else to know if it's on or off 👍😎🤣😂🤣😂😂

    Hey Chris. Maybe you have seen this one. I have a new holland tc 40d I just bought second hand. I go to start it I let the glow plugs light turn off I try to start it and nothing happens. I hold the key for a couple more seconds and there is a click sound from the fuse box behind the gauge cluster and the pto light comes on. It has me baffled.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  3 года назад

      Maybe a relay? I believe there are some around the dash area. Good luck!

      Thanks. I went to take the battery off to charge it over night and one of the posts came right out so I'm crossing my fingers this has something to do with my problem.

    At least its an easy one and a tractor you can fix still.
    When we have lights, whipers,radio.... running through computers its getting ridiculous
