Might be Unconventional- But it Worked I experimented with a new way to spread fertilizer for our pumpkin plants. This should be way more efficient than a three point hitch spreader. John Deere Gator using a 4' wide drop spreader.

RUGGEDMADE Log Splitter Review & Maintenance!
Did you decide what you are going to do with combine I my be interested
I don’t see a follow up video you said you might eventually say who did it, I ordered a building just hoping it’s not the same company
Looks good, Just like the Gecko, you saved a bunch of money and time.
*That is frustrating and over twice the cost. Where there any reviews on it?* #WorldsOkayestFarmer
I dont think I have ever seen that implement before, Man they have an implement for everything.
If that’s a rental/loaner it’s not really comparable to a privately owner machine. When tractors like that get rented or loaned out you have people like me that get their hands on em and beat the piss out of em. I’ve rented bobcat skid loaders taken the bucket off and wheelied up hills just for the heck of it. If I was renting a 70hp tractor you think I’m renting it to go through the car wash? Heck no that things picking up some logs that will be so heavy they’ll make me drive on the front two wheels when I lift em up. Low gear going through fields? Yeah right not when I’m paying per day. I ain’t got time for that? If it can stand up to being rented out that’s saying something about the durability of the machine right there. 100 rental hours are about equal to 1000 normal hours. Unless I own it then maybe it might get used slightly easier than the rental but not much.
So cool luv it
Luv ur vids yall have beautiful country up there I'm dwn in ga
I've seen lot's of plastic in melon fields. I never asked. I assumed that the farmer had it figured out. The pumpkins grown in western Kansas didn't have plastic. Thank you Chris.
Boy oh boy, you and I have sucj struggles some days!! That was awful how it was not staying under the tires and ripping. I dont blame you one bit for switching it to the other style. I see my combine there in the background 🤔😉🤣 Hopefully things got better for you Mr Chris, look fwd to seeing whats next!!! 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
Good morning Chris ☕☕☕ I'd say it's how the plastic moves.. and 7 month plastic... How old was it when you got it?? If it's 3 or 4 months old, it's structurally degraded. Makes sense why the regular plastic laid so well in comparison.
Aren’t the disks supposed to throw dirt on the plastic to hold it down?
Very frustrating I know. Having the right tool for the materials/job is critical 🤷♂️. Did you contact the supplier to give feedback/get support??
Hi Chris, I was wondering if you put the small role in the place of the big role if it will work, may be it is the position of the role relative to the wheels
Seems like a homedepot/lowes deal where you buy and set up an install date and they send it out to a subcontract group of the local methhead crew.
Seriously you sound like a real Karen. They did 99.999%of the building correctly .
@ytSuns26 You obviously didn't listen to or watch the entire video. I have lost count with the number of issues this building has- some of which are not on this video. But if you will write a check for over $20,000.00 for this level of workmanship, then you clearly are their perfect customer 😉
Great video. Thinking about purchasing one. Now that this video is 5 years old. Do you still have it and has it caused you much grief ? Thanks.
@7863348 It was a very reliable skidsteer. I do not still have it- we moved up to the SVL 75 track machine. Once you own a skidsteer you will wonder how you ever got along without it!
@@dehavenfamilyfarm Thank you. I really appreciate your response. Looks like it might be the time to check one out.
Loosen the bolts on the mounting plate then you can align the pins.
Thank you for making this video. You help a lot of us homeowners how to DIY👍🏾
I see there are issues. But with the window alignment how can they fix it if you wont allow them to move metal around? Looks like the building isn't square. That company needs a lawsuit though. Id be pissed too. They would of known the building wasnt square as they went and they just kept going. Maybe they used prison workers
If you were ordering a machine to just run that cutter doing ditches, would you get a bit more power or weight? I need to get one for a lot of road side ditch cutting, but want to stay under 10K weight, but longest reach and most stable, but then use machine for other jobs of course. Hard picking most versatile machine. Too many choices. Happy to use the 36" cutter, but the long arms and stability are my goal...under 10K Any tips welcome.
Do your homework on both of the active ingredients. They are highly regulated for a reason. Mist some on bare iron or low carbon steel and see if they are fooling you on that rusting claim.
You want undisturbed hay for testing. Making a pocket or hole for the probe reduces the contact area of the probe point and thereby raises the Ohms reading that converts to % moisture in the instrument. You get false low moisture readings by doing this. (Higher ohms = dryer hay)
The slab oversize is so that your concrete anchors don't break off the edge of the slab. These buildings are really "enclosed carports". In their basic form they are a shade structure that probably leaks water a bit. You have to upgrade them a bit and get the install near perfect to make it weather tight and insect/rodent tight. And you need it insect/rodent tight if you want to insulate it without making it a home for insects and rodents in the walls. If you insulate, you also want an insulated residential style garage door instead of a sheet metal roll-up. This is all possible and I'm going to do it but the key is I'm going to do it. I might bring in some help but I'm going to take my time and be the builder and on site QC instead of just a customer. I'm also going to have all of my doors on site before the enclosed carport "kit" arrives so that I can make my door frames the exact size required and also get the building enclosed ASAP instead of being wide open for weeks or months while I'm waiting on doors.
You pay illegal immigrant prices for wages, get illegal immigrant results. 40 years of killing the construction industry with shitty wages and shitty workers means you get what you ask for.
I don't think they could have moved your window bc of the bracing. It's very hard to evenly space windows bc of this. Especially harder for smaller buildings such as yours
Good video, when yr doing u-joints, take grease nipple out, put a good gob of grease in caps so niddles don't fall out when putting new u-joint in place, the access grease will push out grease fitting hole
Hope you had a resolution. Can you please tell us the company so we can avoid it.
How many feet of fence line per hour average? My neighbor wants $100 per hour to do this to my fence line.
thats a very reasonable rate
How many feet of fence line would you believe you average?
Just grab the box blade, run the scarifiers down, tilt the top link forward, and go.
Sounds like most of your dissatisfaction is with the installation crew rather than the company that made or sold the building. While these flaws may be irritating, I wouldn't call it a catastrophe. This is the inevitable outcome of cheap labor. It's not about how much you paid for your project, it's about how much of the project cost was spent on installation.
Is the farmall cub cheaper to operate than a zero turn?
Love the videos Chris. When time allows would love to see a whole farm equipment tour video. Keep up the great work.
Hi do you have a video for the transmission oil filter
That hay was definitely worth baling🤦♂️.
Nooooo, you should most definitely hold the company accountable for the crew doing a shoddy job. My neighbors had a huge carport put up to cover their camper that is put on their property long term for them to come and stay whenever they want.. they were not here when the work was done and there were a lot of mistakes made just like on your job. I sent them a lot of pictures of the bad work and they called the company and sent the pictures right away. The company stood behind their product and made the crew come back and take it all down and redo with new materials. The work was inspected before they left the second time and pictures sent to the property owners to be sure they were happy!
How's the hammer a year in ?
Is it okay to spread ag lime on established pasture in late summer?
15% for a square is a little low...18% is what i bale 4x5 rolls at...15 for a 5x5....up to 20 for a sqaure
Thankyou VERY MUCH for your video I was just about to go with this type building. I have been juggling different material options, ship container, wood, steel, they all have pros& cons but watching your video I just changed my mind again!! I'm so sorry for the expense how very poorly they constructed your building how very disappointing!! You have very legitimate complaints I would DEFINATELY get the company to send a better crew out to fix these issues you shouldnt have to fix it you saved up to pay for it.
Just did this to my 2001 Tacoma. Got 6 cans
Can’t you get a farm rating to allow you more weight?
The surging from the trailer might mean you have to shift the weight more forward to load the axles…might try shifting load.
Good video - I like those pendulum spreaders…👍
@HumbleHaymakers thanks! Me too- much nicer than the old spinner spreader I had.
I love that spreader!! I can see what you mean about different tractors and speeds. One task I haven't mastered, spreading fertilizer!! Awesome video Mr Chris, love the ole 544 too😁😁👌🏻👌🏻🇺🇲🇺🇲🌽🌽
@Pennies_on_the_dollar I used to be good at spreading fertilizer and then I started using GPS guidance. Now I can't seem to do well without it 🤣🤣🤣
@@dehavenfamilyfarm 🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If the working width is 33 feet , the spreader throws the fertiliser +_ 33 feet to both sides. If you drive on a distance of 33 feet , you get a 100% overlap , what is ideal for a good distribution of the fertiliser over the field.
@jackybruckers The chart actually says spread width, not working width- I miss spoke in the video. Thanks!
Good morning Chris ☕☕☕ Get it done and let the rain take it in👍😎

*New to hay, my rented fields have a lot of weeds in them and my hay isn’t growing well. Other than lime and fertilizer that is needed, is it worth broadcasting more seed in the fall to improve the field. Or is that a waste?* #WorldsOkayestFarmer
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer I wouldn't spend money on seed just yet. Try to get the ph straightened out and spray for weeds (Spring is probably best for that when the weeds are small) first. It takes a few years to really take an old hay field and turn it around. Good luck!
Nice job Chris, hope your quantity and quality is greatly improved. Hope you have a blessed day and week ahead my friend.
@RandWFarmstead-TonyWalsh thank you! Unfortunately Debby caused small lakes in some of our hay fields- not sure what to do with the brown hay....
