Interestingly the Bobcats always had a hydraulic hose attached to the oil pan so you can drain the oil from the back door as there is no bottom access plate.
My goodness , that seems crazy!! Why in the world would they change it like that!! Excellent video on how to though, because I can see that tube being a nightmare the first time!! Thank you Mr Chris for bringing us along!! Hope you and the family have an amazing and wonderful Christmas my friend!! 😁😁👍👍🎄🎄
Definitely a poor design. Hopefully this video will be helpful to anyone dealing with this. Thank you Nelson, and Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!!
Mine is a 2012 and it has a drain hose that goes to the battery. But I had to send my skid in for some service to the NH dealer and the tech sold me the conversion kit to do the what he called the "quick change" oil drain. I don"t know if there was any benefit over the longer hose going to the battery? Did the longer hose have a tendency to get plugged over time? I have no idea...any way I have that green hose and that adapter end to put on mine...I just haven't yet.
I feel your pain I have a Case SR 160 with same situation can't wait till time replace metal hydraulic line that's right on belly pan under the engine. Have a Merry Christmas Chris
I think these engineers should have to learn how to work on this stuff and they'd do a better job of designing in. Thanks for sharing Chris and hope you all have a Merry Christmas my friend.
I feel your frustration . Improve on a idea until it's counter productive.
Thank you Chris.
Absolutely! Thank you Bryce 🙂
Very nice Chris, sure this will help many guys
Thank you!

That would have been much easier!

Great vid thanks what size is the hose connection
I am not sure. The drain hose came with the machine.
Good morning Chris ☕☕☕
Some improvements are good, some are far from being improvements
Excellent way to describe it! Thank you Ed 🙂
that's a tough one for sure, at work we have a Chinese made mini backhoe, what a mess that thing is to change oil. have a great Christmas my friend
Thank you!
Thanks very much. Bought a slightly used L220 a couple weeks ago. Wondered what the green pipe was for. Manual is missing so to RUclips I go.

Merry Christmas to you as well!!
Thank for this vidéo very informative
You're welcome!
What year is your L220? Mines a 2012 and it has the drain hose by the filter. Oil change is a piece of cake like your 230 was.

I agree!! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well 🙂
What kind of oil
It's the same on L228. Ughh!!! Thanks for video.
Are you happy with the L220 New Holland?
Yes. It has been a good machine.
@@dehavenfamilyfarm Thanks!
Hard to believe they chose not to put an oil pan drain hose on this model.
I agree!
