- Might be Unconventional- But it Worked
I experimented with a new way to spread fertilizer for our pumpkin plants. This should be way more efficient than a three point hitch spreader. John Deere Gator using a 4' wide drop spreader.
The bottom drop spreader is perfect for this application. Thank you Chris.
@@brycewiborg8095 seemed to do the job well. Thanks Bryce 🙂
Drop spreaders are often overlooked but they are a great way to do a pinpoint application of fertilizer, dry chemicals and seed.
Perfect tool for this application…👍
@HumbleHaymakers I think so. Seemed to work well and makes the process more efficient. Thanks!
Man yeah Mr Chris!! That worked perfectly!! No need to waste that high dollar fertilizer!! 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
@Pennies_on_the_dollar definitely been trying to find more efficient methods. Thanks Nelson 🙂
@@dehavenfamilyfarm 😁😁
Looks like it fits the job perfectly!!!
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin worked pretty well. Thank you Ed!
Ideal set up for that application there Chris. Kinda looks like something I might've done. Have you been watching my videos?? 😂😂 Thanks for the ride along.
@@crslyrn thanks Ron! Have to do whatever works, right? 😁
Nothing unconventional at all and you were correct, a broadcast spreader would have wasted 1/2 the fertilizer. Take care Chris and hope you have a blessed day and week ahead my friend.
@RandWFarmstead-TonyWalsh thanks Tony. I'm always looking at was to make our small farm more efficient.
So are you planting a real short day pumpkin this late in the summer just curious obviously you plan on them being harvestable by the fall season? Seems to me the same as the strip till and strip planting that the big guys are doing so makes great sense to me
@michiganhay7844 no, I've been crazy busy and my videos are late being published because I haven't had time to edit them. This video was filmed in early June. Thanks Ray!
