You've got to give Andy Williams' stage orchestra some credit for this lovely performance. Evocative, emotive, perfectly in-tune. The percussion's emulation of a clock ticking to reinforce the passing of time motif. No rushing, seemingly effortless but from way down in the emotions.

Perfect vocals and orchestration. Considered the greatest live performance ever. Other tapes run a second or so longer at the end of the song. Bobby flashes a little smile. He knew he had nailed it. Great how you give some background at the beginning.

Bobby was suffering with a bad cold and nailed this anyway. His parents were in the audience and he was so nervous. He had nothing to worry about. RIP Bobby. You were an angel sent from heaven.

Best reaction I've seen you give. So genuine and heartfelt. The host speaking to the guys was Andy Williams who sang Moon River another song you would enjoy.

This is by far the best version. (IMHO) one of the best live performances of all time (by any artist).
The second best version was performed by “The King” Elvis Presley. Despite being in poor health (and only six weeks from death) he poured his heart out, and delivered a performance that would bring a tear to a glass eye. You gotta check it out man. The best version is on the channel of PAblo M
    Thanks 🙏🏻

I like it that you let the song finished without pausing. Not that pausing is no good, but....Great reaction coming from a guy. Most gal reactors would hold their hearts, fan their faces with their hands, smile and even cry. They just get swept away with emotions by this love song. I can understand why. I always enjoy watching their faces.
Many great singers tried to cover this song. But none could own it like Bobby, not even Elvis, in my opinion.

The incomparable Counter Tenor voice of the late great Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers. Done 58 years ago (Live) on the Andy Williams Television Show in (1965). No one has sung this song better than Bobby Hatfield and no Orchestra has performed this song better than the NBC Studio Orchestra of the Andy Williams Show. Together they created the greatest live performance ever. This rendition of "Unchained Melody" has become the quintessential version of them all. This arrangement has been used ever since by every singer and orchestra. The host Andy Williams said it best at the end "Beautiful." Awesome reaction and welcome the standing ovation at the end.

This was my youth, love so much, danced many times to Unchained Melody! In the early 2000 they performed fairly close but I couldn’t spare the 75. for a ticket. Such a regret… should have tightened my belt someway! Thank you for your great reaction!
