  • How to change oil and filter on a Honda Civic this applies to most cars this method , I'd just like to add you need a full 4 litres of oil for this job , and I use either 5w 30 or 5w 40 fully synthetic.

Always remove and replace the filter before you drain the oil. If you run into problems taking the old filter off, at least you still have the old oil in the sump and you can drive it until you sort it out.

Isn't the whole underside of the car covered with a plastic cover? Thanx

Tintoycar no the front has a thin metal plate which you remove to gain access to the sump etc but like mine most of them are missing .

Hi mate, first of all thank you for all the informative videos. Very clear step by step so great job! I just want to aks if you've done a transmission oil change on your 8tg gen before? Any tips would be appreciated. Cheers!

Julius Desbruslais thank you , yes done a few gear oil changes before , you will need around 1.5 litres of oil best to buy 2 , same as an engine oil change really drain from the bottom and there’s a fill plug on the side , make sure your cars level and fill until it starts to come out then install the plug again .

Thank you for the prompt reply and all the advice. If it's not too much to ask, could you please send a pic as to where the transmission drain plug is and also the point where you jack the car up (wishbone bolt) because I just want to be sure for safety. Email: juldesbruslais @ gmail . com
Cheers again for all your help!
