YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM THAT I FOUND OUT YOUR VIDEO GOD BLESS YOU MAN I've been looking for days already for something like this : if I can put a gator on my honda civic hatchback ( meaning a car that doesn't naturally come with one). Thank you so much. I sometimes eat in the car( which I hate but can't help) because of long journeys and I was getting quite concerned about the fact that I had no boot to protect the gears. Thanks again
FWIW, fitting a Type R gear-stick surround/gaiter to other Civics is a pretty big job because the plastic collar for the "ball" gets in the way. You need to remove the centre-console to get access to the shifter mechanism and then unbolt the plastic collar before the surround will fit. Honestly, the Type R gaiter looks/fits MUCH better than a DIY job but it's up to the owner whether it's worth the effort.
Gator slides up and down the shaft, cable tying is not effective enough. Gator itself that I bought is poor quality, tore it off after one journey. Just leave it stock.

Thanks dude I will be doing this!
I got a suède one of these.
I used an old creditcard to push it under the trim. Removing the gear knob was enough.
So I don't have have to take off the trum if all i want to do is remove the knob? Thanks.
Thank you
+Emile Heskey that's fine , hope it helps .
Do you have to glue it? I tucked it in without glue let’s see if it stays out the plastic bit should hold that leather down
can i twist off the gear stick and replace it with a different design one? i hate the one in my civic , thanks
Yes definitely
Just the knob not the whole stick I might add
ghetto fabulous
Any idea where to get one of these lock nuts? Size spec?
Yes it’s just an m10 nut
Where did you get that bit from as my gear stick doesn't have one of those ?
Which bit ?
it was nice the way it was...now it just looks bad. it looks like any other vw, seat, Skoda, etc. congrats u made it worst.
