No need to drill holes and make a mess to your boot.
I took off all the fittings from the spoiler, and placed it on with Tiger Seal. Rock solid and fitted on perfectly.
Still going well 4 yrs on. 👍
I watched this video and it inspired me to first try to use the far side bolts. I needed to drill perpendicular on the spoiler. No danger to hit the glass. It stays so much better fixed, in only those 2 bolts. One on the far right and one on the far left side. So there was no need to drill for the other 4 bolts, like in this video. The result is less mess, less chance for the water to come in, less work. No need for the inside panel to be removed neither. Hope this helps someone. have a good one.
So you only drilled one hole on each side? For the bracket ...? I want to drill mine but don't want to get it wrong 😂 😅
@@kirklishman8997 yes only one hole on each side. When you drill, use a thin drill first so you dont damage the fillet.
@@namunski949 cheers so the hole at each end is for the bracket only ...
@@kirklishman8997 yes. All you need to keep the spoiler on, those two holes. Have some small rubber gasket with you or some silicon to go around the holes when u fix the spoiler. It`s a shame I did not keep the pics. WOuld have shared it with you. But I dont have the pics anymore. But yeah, use your logic, try imagine how it will fit before you start the job. You may need a friend to help you, maybe keep the trunk door at your level so you can drill straight and not slip.
Followed the same steps. Worked out perfectly. Definitely adds abit of class! I just need better sealant. As it comes off. Im thinking gorilla glue sealant!
@cjrshop
Nice one mate! Finally got the lacquer peel covered
Akhil Varghese yes finally .
Fk lacquer
So if your back window wasnt leaking now it is for sure 😂 Great video though
cracking job mate great measuring skills ...
I’ve been waiting on someone putting a toturial to this for ages! Nice one mate
Evan Hughes soon as it’s painted il shoot a video , thanks for watching 👍🏻
Same, I've been waiting for a video demonstration on normal civics. I would like to see a sports grill added, removing the og perspex grill
The cjrshop nice one mate, looking forward to it 👍🏻
Great video, helped alot. I followed the same method with my spoiler. I'm surprised I trusted myself. I'm just hoping it's completely water tight!
Followed your steps and mines sorted thanks mate 😁
If I was install mugen spoiler on my Civic EX, would I have to create my own dril holes, just like you did with the type R spoiler
Yes definitely, there’s no way I’d just stick a mugen spoiler on , there huge and with the down force it may come off .👍🏻
Brilliant effort mate glad I could help, even though I stole the brackets. (I am a prick) 😂
Thanks mate your not . Be nice to see it fitted and in black .👍🏻
Ah alright, on his car shines the spoiler today.
Nice fitting, but why are you throwing stuff in the field?
Looks tidy that mate. Defo would bolt it up too. Those bungs were just the job!
Yeah for a spoiler I just don’t trust it being stuck on .
I dont reccomend this method (fitiing spoiler not on oem typeR trunk door) this plastic glass thing brakes after 2 years of useing and brakes on each of drilled holes that can cause easy water access to the trunk. In standard civic model u dont have metal mounting specially made for fitting the spoiler, in this solution you are mounting nuts straight on the plastic glass, it vibrates generate some force when you drive or when you close trunk etc. If you dont want to replace this (plastic glass aquarium looking thing) just dont do it or buy typer trunk door. (Cables in typer and non typer trunk are diffrent! have that in mind too. Ive been there :/)
so better just stick on glue?
@@MrDefiant17 i used oem screws (they have weird shape) with some rubber washers under the nuts and i applied glue for glass (like this when you install front or back glass in cars) in place where sealing is. Im stuck with this for like 6 months rn and nothing brakes. (i still have not typeR version of trunk door). If you will decide to do it like that have in mind you must be gentle with closing trhe trunk XD
Class job lads. Subbed and liked
Just going to open these holes out. .....hah hah bloody hell you weren't kidding eh. Whilst it will wreck your monitisation you should have Craig featured more often lolol
Dad Diaries 😘😘 cheers mate 👍👍
Dad Diaries yes hence the warning ⚠️👍🏻
Is the spoiler compatible with the mk8?
Its true that the 2 doors boot dont fit on 5 doors ?
Great job..! Iv been thinking of fitting one of these to my type s.. is your insurance premium affected by fitting one of these??
I’ve added to the insurance and nothing changed . 👍
From where you bought the spoiler?
Did u not drill the end holes??
You should of got a type r mate... I agree doesn't look that great but that's my opinion.
I got an ES instead of a Type S because I needed the extra doors. I'm fitting a Type R body kit to it.
I would have used rubber washers to act as a gasket as well.

That actually looks worse. Doesn't suit the 4 door civic at all.
5"
It's the same damned car as a 2 door. Everything is interchangeable, it just has a line down the rear quarter where the passenger doors are.
Jay Gee - the difference is is doesn’t have the rest of the kit fitted which makes it silly
@@PreciousMetalinvest I does look better with the full GT spec Trim. If it was the right colour it would look better.
Ps: The 1.8 Type S & Si models have quite high top speeds. Yes it looks better with the full body kit of course.
RR PLANB - the Type S / and SI models have the exact same engine as the 1.8 only difference are the kit wheels and seats
Why 😕
why not
Why are civics in the uk so ugly???
Thats entirely subjective
Compared to where? 🤔
No ones bothered about how your car looks ffs
