    No need to drill holes and make a mess to your boot.
    I took off all the fittings from the spoiler, and placed it on with Tiger Seal. Rock solid and fitted on perfectly.
    Still going well 4 yrs on. 👍

    I watched this video and it inspired me to first try to use the far side bolts. I needed to drill perpendicular on the spoiler. No danger to hit the glass. It stays so much better fixed, in only those 2 bolts. One on the far right and one on the far left side. So there was no need to drill for the other 4 bolts, like in this video. The result is less mess, less chance for the water to come in, less work. No need for the inside panel to be removed neither. Hope this helps someone. have a good one.

      So you only drilled one hole on each side? For the bracket ...? I want to drill mine but don't want to get it wrong 😂 😅

    • @namunski949
      @namunski949 4 года назад

      @@kirklishman8997 yes only one hole on each side. When you drill, use a thin drill first so you dont damage the fillet.

      @@namunski949 cheers so the hole at each end is for the bracket only ...

      @@kirklishman8997 yes. All you need to keep the spoiler on, those two holes. Have some small rubber gasket with you or some silicon to go around the holes when u fix the spoiler. It`s a shame I did not keep the pics. WOuld have shared it with you. But I dont have the pics anymore. But yeah, use your logic, try imagine how it will fit before you start the job. You may need a friend to help you, maybe keep the trunk door at your level so you can drill straight and not slip.

      Yes definitely, there’s no way I’d just stick a mugen spoiler on , there huge and with the down force it may come off .👍🏻

  • @nowociota4843

    I dont reccomend this method (fitiing spoiler not on oem typeR trunk door) this plastic glass thing brakes after 2 years of useing and brakes on each of drilled holes that can cause easy water access to the trunk. In standard civic model u dont have metal mounting specially made for fitting the spoiler, in this solution you are mounting nuts straight on the plastic glass, it vibrates generate some force when you drive or when you close trunk etc. If you dont want to replace this (plastic glass aquarium looking thing) just dont do it or buy typer trunk door. (Cables in typer and non typer trunk are diffrent! have that in mind too. Ive been there :/)

    • @MrDefiant17
      @MrDefiant17 Год назад

      so better just stick on glue?

    • @nowociota4843
      @nowociota4843 Год назад

      @@MrDefiant17 i used oem screws (they have weird shape) with some rubber washers under the nuts and i applied glue for glass (like this when you install front or back glass in cars) in place where sealing is. Im stuck with this for like 6 months rn and nothing brakes. (i still have not typeR version of trunk door). If you will decide to do it like that have in mind you must be gentle with closing trhe trunk XD
