The plain red is in reference to a painting too! Van Gogh also painted a piece of a bedroom with a - you guessed it - red bed! I love how this build turned out! I would love to live here. It’s just so bright and cheery.

Huh, I never considered the plain red would be a reference to a painting as well, it makes so much more sense now 😂 I gave it a quick search and found the painting is called Bedroom in Arles, and the entire bed frame is based on it as well, neato
This gives off horror movie farm house but im absolutely here for that. I wish we had some more sun burned/pale swatches on stuff to really make it look like its been standing in the sun for YEARS

The plain red bed is based on a famous painting too! Van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles! I would love if they would add swatches of more Van Gogh paintings or even other famous paintings to that bed

As a fellow builder in the Sims - I'd just like to say that these builds which use a bunch of packs are super fun for me because I don't tend to download builds off the gallery at all, so I don't mind builds that use more packs than I have - it's just super fun to watch and take inspiration from!
i know i’m in a very small minority of people who play the sims BUT i own all of the packs and kits and it’s something i’ve invested so much money in so i absolutely love when you don’t restrict packs in a build ❤️ i think you balance only base game, certain packs, and unrestricted super well!!!

Agreed! Also in a franchise this big, a small minority is still a lot of people! If you don’t already watch Gryphi’s RUclips channel, they make builds with all of the packs the majority of the time. They’re one of my favorite builders. You should check them out if you haven’t already🩷
I love that you used the Van Gogh bed! Van Gogh is my favorite Painter and I think it’s so cool that they included HIS bed from the painting of his bedroom and then gave it a few swatches of his paintings! Very cool!!

I replay StrangerVille all the time. I use characters from books, TV shows, and other video games and have them defeat the Mother Plant. I also love the build/buy stuff and CAS items. The world is also beautiful. I feel StrangerVill deserves more love. My only thing is I wish we didn't have to defeat the Mother Plant to use the world with each new save.
I honestly wish the sims would give us the option to remove the game play features from strangerville whenever you start a new save. I love the world and the vibe from strangerville but it’s really annoying that you have to play the story every time you want to play in the world, love the vibe of this build tho
They really needed to give us a DLC manager which let us disable all or part of a DLC instead of that cash grab button. They could have even included ways to buy more dlc from the dlc manager, but as long as it gave us more functionality we wouldn't have been so angry
True, but in the meanwhile, do a save where you complete the story and then make copies from it to use as base save, so you don't have to do it. That or just a copy where you cheat the story done if you don't want to do it.

@@OkamiHowlsI don't know if there is a proper cheat, didn't look into that, but I know Tmex have a mod to toggle the Strangerville storyline if you are on pc and interested in that
I do love how considerate with the packs she uses, but Simsie! Branch out every once in a while! We love it even if we can't play with it. When she uses different packs or it makes for more interesting youtube content!
The sunflowers fit perfectly with the weather here, it’s SO hot and sunny, but so nice for march
I always make this recommendation about the terrain paint glitch: saving the game doesn't always work! So frequently save the lot *to your library* because that will actually save the terrain paint. It's kind of annoying because you have to remember to do it but it works every time. I've saved myself a lot of upset because of this technique!
if you layered a brown circle rug over the yellow cookie rug it would’ve been a sunflower!
On the topic of litterboxes, I have the Litter Robot Connect 3 and I freaking love it.
You can’t even tell we have a litterbox since I invested in it and my cat took to it immediately.
Instead of scooping twice a day I empty the bin once a week and replace the liner and then monthly I empty the whole thing give it a good scrub.
Best investment ever.
For anyone wondering, the Van Gogh bed’s red swatch is also a reference to his art-it’s the bed in his painting “The Bedroom”

Sunflowers have always been my favourite flowers, which ironic because I don't like the colour yellow, but sunflowers are so pretty and the cottage style with the van gogh bed made this one of my favourite builds from Simsie
It's such a pretty house! Definitely fits in season with spring starting. Plus yellow is such a beautiful color.

You do SO much for your community and I hope you don't take people's comments too much to heart. Being able to download builds is fun but so is seeing what you create and watching you have fun doing it. Blue suburban will always be wonderful and not everyone is going to like every rug, that's okay.

This is really cute 🤩! I have a games table in the sunroom of my legacy homestead - a little bump out in the upstairs hallway that has windows on 3 of the 4 sides - its perfect there and I've gotten so much use out of it!
We went to a Final Fantasy concert years ago with a friend when they visited - it was really cool. Glad to hear you got to go to one for Stardew Valley!

I have never had the terrain paint bug, and yet, it still scares me. I do have the weed bug, and of course, now I thought it was a good time to have a farmer sim.
On the subject of greenhouses; I usually do mine in the basement, and they seem to work pretty good

Hi simsie, long time watcher, but usually i lurk and just like videos and never really comment. I just wanted to say thank you for your videos, I can always count on them to cheer me up. My husband is deployed in the military and I'm hundreds of miles from home and alone with just my dog and i was sobbing earlier because I'm really sick right now and have no one to ask for help, but i saw this video get recommended and knew it would be just the thing to cheer me up. Sunflowers! But anyways your videos are very special to me and i thank you so much for doing what you do.
I've always grown up with cats and we always kept the litter box in a less used room. I remember it being once in like an old pantry we only kept like brooms and stuff in, in the book room, and such. As an adult with cats now, we have a spare bedroom that we call the pet room and we have all the cat's toys and their litter boxes in there. When building in the sims, I normally put them in the bathroom. I don't know why but it feels fitting for the sims.
I've never seen that bed but absolutely adore it. I love sunflower imagery and I think this house is super pretty. I'll likely bookmark this house in my library for future use.

I loooooooooooooooove StrangerVille, it's one of my favorite packs! I actually play in the neighborhood all the time. You can totally ignore the story and just let people walk around. I like to pretend I'm just an "NPC" family that's just not involved with the story. We just live there, existing in the strangeness as if it's perfectly normal, haha. I love the style of it, the vibes- I'm allllll about supernatural gameplay, so the alien stuff is so excellent lmao.

I use strangerville in a lot of the houses that I build. They just have S-tier windows, doors, fencing, pillars etc.

It's a beautiful house. I normally don't like yellow but when it comes to Sunflowers, it just works. Sunflowers are so pretty and cheerful. Glad you had fun in New York. I wish I knew someone that lives in New York. I'd love to visit there one day.

fun fact about the sunflower bed: the red swatch is also a reference to van gogh but instead of the print being referencing a paint the whole bed itself is! its supposed to be the same bed seen in the Bedroom in Arles painting. as much as I don’t really like the red swatch it's a very cute detail!

I actually knew someone who had a sunflower patch! They were also a landscaper so their whole property was absolutely gorgeous, there was even a pond with a fancy bridge and lovely fish :)

Every time I play, I make my sims' roof hang over the edge a ridiculous amount so I can plant my garden under the shade so I don't have to worry about seasons lol

I have an idea for a new challenge, you could limit yourself to one expansion pack, one game pack, one stuff pack and one kit for a build and have to use at least one thing from each. To pick the pack you could put each category into a random generator and that’s what determines the packs used!! I think this would be such a fun challenge since you always are scared of using too many packs
The gardening glitch is the reason I always have a spellcaster sim around to learn florilorial. Easiest way to tend to the garden when your sims can't weed the plants properly.

they did give us a actual vehicle in the for rent dlc but its only for decor and now that i say that im going to immediately make a suggestion for a vehicle dlc to get more vehicles

The red bed is a nod to Van Gogh’s painting “Bedroom In Arles”. Another one of his very famous paintings but not in the same as the other swatches of the bed! There’s like at least three different variations of the painting, same angle, same bed, all the same. If you can’t tell I LOVE Van Gogh…

This is so funny to me. Because I have an evil sim who is a cat lover. And his house is too small for a litter box. But there’s a stray that hangs around thst he’s going to adopt, so I threw the cat stuff outside 😅
Cats are super clean!! They usually hate dust and dirty things. My cat only uses her litter box when it's clean. She literally meows until i clean all the remains so she can use it lol
