Hi Guys! I have a lot of new content that will be coming soon. I will branch out into finance, buying a home, investing, and more about pharmacy in general. Let me know what else you want me to cover! Remember Eat your Vegetables!
I’m on my 3rd month working as a night shift pharmacist. I love it. There’s times when it’s super busy and that’s fine. Last week I was dealing with a code happening in the ER and the ICU while the nursery wanted a consult on dosing antibiotics for a premature baby. The best part is that there is no management around so I get to have my laptop out.
I am a Brazilian Pharmacy student and I want to become a clinical pharmacist and even though I know that Brazilian health system might be different your videos always inspire me to keep pursuing what I want and to keep studying as hard as I can. This video was really inspiring to me and I really hope you'll keep posting new videos! Thank you very much!
Thank you for your videos. I remember watching your videos before applying to pharmacy school. Now I will be graduating in May and starting a PGY1 in late June! Eat your vegetables!!
I’ve worked both day and night shift at my hospital as a pharmacist and I can hands down say night shift is more challenging than day shift. It’s a level II trauma center with 600 beds and only two pharmacists and two or three techs. At night all satellite areas come to central and most Ed admits are overnight so most of the orders are processed during night shift. You also don’t have management on call to contact if something were to happen. You have to be better at problem solving while management is away. People who find out I work night shift say it must be nice to be slower and I tell them it’s actually busier and no down time or breaks for 12 hrs. Probably different depending on the hospital but certainly not the case at mine.
Welcome back to RUclips Paul! Just like a lot of your viewers, I been watching your videos before pharmacy school and now in pharmacy school. Thanks for being a great inspiration.
I remember subscribing to you before I was starting to think about going into pharmacy. Now I am almost done with my 3rd year of pharmacy! Good to see you back!
Glad to see you're back, I also watched your videos when I was applying for pharamcy school, now I'm a P4 and about to graduate (God willing)! I really like hearing about your experiences and look forward to seeing more videos. Also any tips on how to get a job? Lol
You forgot to remind us to eat our vegetables! 😂 Glad to see you back. I’m a night pharmacist myself and this video couldn’t be more relatable (except the code blue situation since I work in retail). Looking forward to more night RPh videos. Thanks!
Hello, awesome video .Where i work ,one can either work night or day as a Pharmacist .No one is particularly in just one shift. We basically have an on call system for pharmacist .I like some of the aspects you brought out in your video and I'll try and suggest them in my department .Thanks
Paul I’m so thankful for your videos. Your advice even the small points helped me prepare my self to apply to Pharmacy school. I remember watch your vids a couple years ago and now I’m starting Pharmacy school this fall. Thank you once again Paul!!!! ☺️☺️☺️
Great to see you posting videos again! I watched your videos when I was applying to pharmacy school (Great help BTW, thank you), now I'm preparing for the NAPLEX and MPJE! Look forward to more content!
Hi Paul, I first watched your video when I was just considering the pharmacy path and now I am getting ready to start pharmacy school in August after getting accepted to my dream school.
Glad for the support! I will venture off into different topics related to finance as well. Do you have anything in particular you want me to talk about?
Paul Tran Pharmacist If anything more pharmacy related things . For instance, I'm still taking my prereqs to apply to pharmacy schools, but everyone I know is doing pharmacy. So what's the job growth like in the next few years? Whats pharmacy school like? Will I like my job? How to prepare for interviews, etc. Also I am a people person so I'm concerned I won't like the job because lot of people say it's boring... Idk. It's a wide range of general questions and concerns.
Doctors of pharmacy are really lucky with the advantages of the pharmaceutical field Not like other fields like veterinary medicine that is literally dying and no one cares about it 😭
Paul, do you feel that there is a pressure from the other co-workers to not call out sick? I notice day shifters and evening shifters calling out sick once a month but if an overnighter calls out sick we are scum because it forces the evening person to work a double shift.
I am planning to do engineering but I am thinking about dropping engineering and taking biochemistry in college to get into pharmacy school. Did you take biology and chemistry in college? Were they hard and how difficult is it to get into pharmacy school? Is the doctorate degree difficult to get?
Can you choose to be a retail pharmacist or a hospital pharmacist? I’m leaning towards the hospital but I have no idea how it works, if they choose where you start
Hello! I actually have 3 jobs. 1 Full time inpatient hospital, 1 per diem inpatient hospital and 1 per diem long term care. All my jobs are through networking and people I know.
Hi Paul! I will be starting my first year of pharmacy school in the upcoming Fall term. I was wondering if you need to complete a residency in order to obtain a pharmacist position in a hospital?
Hey thanks for the kind words. You know I am not too familiar with the market all across the US, but I know in Seattle it hasn't really seen a saturated market. In the past 6 years Seattle went through a huge BOOM and growth. The population here has skyrocketed and so more jobs for pharmacists have been created. I can't say the same for other parts of the US. Clinical jobs are still slightly harder to find but most find something within 6 months, retail jobs are easy to find in Seattle.
You are back, finally!! You mentioned that you always want to learn new things and read. What books would you recommend? Pharmacy and non pharmacy related. Thank you and welcome back

I mean your education qualification.
