People are stealing them blind in the self checkout lanes. That’s why they’re getting rid of self checkouts.

Why does this article not state the facts on why they are being removed? Aside from theft rising they were only allowing 2 people to check out at a time and then being asked to let them dig through your bags and see your receipt after being watched extremely close. Last time I went to this location was when I said I was done shopping there ever again. Was treated like a theif the whole time and talked bad to and watched like a hawk. Besides, don't support a business that won't support its community through jobs and pay. Don't support a business that cuts paying jobs while raising prices while making the customers do the stores job.
For real. I’m not saying they’re perfect companies either, but I’d take Schnucks or Dierbergs any day over friggin Walmart lmao

They won't state the facts of why their doing this, because they don't want the usual name calling from people. We all know why they're doing it. Common sense knew the rate of thefts would increase when they dropped down to only 1 or 2 lanes with cashiers.

I was at a walmart in st. charles, and watched a young lady go one for one. Scan one, put another in the bag. Scan one, put another in the bag. I called attention to her, and she was surrounded by security after that. I laughed, and left. Worked like a champ.

I remember when my mom would go through the check out line and the employee checking her groceries would sometimes scan her items two times instead of one and over charge her.
Guess some people will have to start back paying for their groceries and other items. They won’t like that.
I'm just hoping that never happens here. Walmart is the only place I shop, due to every other store being a dollar or two more expensive for the exact same things (I buy the same food every week) and going into a store and not having to wait in line, not have other people scan my things slower than I can do it myself, and not having to make eye contact or socialize with a single person, is the greatest thing ever. So definitely keep the self checkouts forever. No this isn't sarcasm. I prefer self checkout. Lol

Yes, they may be taking out the self checkout lines and creating jobs again however, there is no display of how much the charges are on the light device when the items are checked out by the cashier. I have seen false prices on my receipts from Walmart stores that were not the same as those displayed at the time of purchase. this includes items in the produce department, which are being weighed on the scales and charged at various different rates that are not posted for the consumer to be able to show dispute at the checkout station. This means we have to look at our receipts when we get home and make sure that we’ve been charged correctly and would have to truck back to the store and stand in line at their customer stand. This is a breach of trust by Walmart stores.
Thanks a lot you stupid shoplifters!!!!! This angers me because I'm 48 and NEVER STOLE IN My ENTIRE LIFE!!! The courts need to punish shoplifters to the fullest extent of the law and quit slapping them on the wrist,,,hope Walmart gets more employees to check people out
Anyone else notice the ar-15's behind the Walmart logo from 0:52 to 1:15, kind of strange since Walmart went anti-gun many years ago. Not saying it's bad, actually if they would become pro-2A that would be a great thing but I'm not holding my breath.

@@joannehunter9929 Mine does too but they stopped selling ar-15's, ammo that is commonly used for ar-15's and ak-47 type rifles, their CEO sent a letter to president Trump urging him to pass several anti-gun bills when he was in office! They do not want to totally lose the revenue from firearm sales or piss even more of their customers off by not selling them anymore but they are 100% FUDDS which means they are ok with simple hunting rifles and shotguns but are against the guns that the second amendment was written to protect, they are anti-second amendment and they believe the government has the right to control what firearms we can own!
Long over due, many self check out didn't pay for their items

WELL, REMOVING SELF CHECKOUT LANES HELPS WITH EMPLOYMENT. HOWEVER I SPOKE WITH SOME OF THE EMPLOYEES AT WALMART DURING THE CHANGE OVER TO SELF CHECK OUT AND IT SEEMS FINDING RELIABLE GOOD EMPLOYEES IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. EMPLOYEES CALL IN SICK, DO NOT SHOW UP FOR THEIR SHIFTS... WALMART IS CONSISTENTLY SHORT HANDED. THAT MAYBE PART OF THE REASON THERE ARE/WERE SELF CHECKOUT LANES.
California no longer have use on self checkouts. Lines are ridiculous for register's and I just don't get why they still checking your receipt when walking out???
This is not just Cessmart. Days ago i went to the local supermarket to buy a mouthwash, which is located by the pharmacy section. They installed a new register and they require payment right there. So i had to pay for the mouthwash first, then continue with grocery shopping. This is why i buy a lot of stuff online. The supermarket has 6 self checkout machines and 1 lady on the register. Can't go to the register because the 70yo lady is a turtle scanning items, and the self checkout sometimes is not working and if yiu go on rush hour the amount of morons using self checkout machines have made me leave the cart and go somewhere else
There only taking them out in the big city's where they are stealing the most 😂

Not many people wanted self checkout… it was their bright idea to use them so they could have less employees.

So very glad to see the self checkout lanes go! I'm so sick and tired of watching lazy associates either messing with their phones, or talking amongst themselves when I need help with a register that won't scan items or coupons!
Not to mention, this will bring in jobs for people.
