Have a p1326 code on a 2015 kia soul with 85k miles but you cannot hear any knocking but CEL is flashing and in limp mode. Since you cant hear a knock it is worth just trying to delete the code and see if it comes back rather than make trip to the dealer? I know there is an issue and extened coverage on the engine for this but i would like to avoid any run around from them or paying diagnostic if its a fluke. Thanks.
That engine should be covered due to the massive recall, didn’t they take it to the Hyundai or Kia dealership? Those bearings/knock were the main issue, i’m still stunned as to people that on these cars not knowing that.
@@Mannygva_ it’s not the exact same issue but the 2020s I have an active recall for oil consumption(which can lead to knock), and probably more. Call your dealership and give them your Vin number and ask them if you’re up-to-date with all your recalls and software updates.
There is indeed a huge recall for these engines. Kia and Hyundai. This is not good because we just dropped my wife's car off with this issue. Very low mileage, always maintained. The 4th cylinder will snap right through the block if you don't fix it.
I have a 2016 Sorento with 110,000 and engine light is flashing (code P1326). There isn't any knocking sounds but has trouble with first gear, rest of the gears are fine. How can i fix this issue?
Unless the engine is in limp mode (limited to about 30mph) I don't believe the two problems are related you might have a bad knock sensor. Do you notice any rattle on a acceleration ? Might be just a bad tank of gas (predetination). At 110k miles sounds like a band or clutches inside the trans might need some attention. Check the fluid level er l first. The fill plug is top front of the trans the plug is on the front of the block plastic cover on the front of the trans. Fill the top until drips out of the front port. Good luck.
If you delete the code to get it out of limp mode does the code come back? I stopped at Orilleys and they scanned it got code then deleted it so now the dealer said I have to continue to drive it until the code comes back.
I checked my oil and then it was empty so I changed the oil and reset the light. According to the TSB you’re suppose to immediately bring the car in and i didn’t know that
I just began getting a flashing engine warning indication and the subsequent P1326 code on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata (2.4L) with only 40,800 miles. It, of course, went into limp mode and I can't really drive it. If I am not (or hadn't been) hearing any bearing noise or any unusual engine knock noise beforehand, and I clear the code, would I be able to "drive" the car to some extent, at least until, and if, the code set again and went back into "limp" mode? This problem began shortly after I filled up with gas and drove only a mile or so. Could bad gas result in the same indication, i.e. flashing engine light and P1326 code? I did pour in a gas additive (Gumout Regane Complete Fuel System Cleaner) into my gas tank when I got home, but it probably hasn't run long enough for the additive to circulate? Anyway, the car will start up just fine and idle nice and steady even with the engine light and code activated and I don't and wasn't hearing any unusual noise (it does load down when I give it gas - Limp Mode). The dealers here in San Antonio won't even look at my car for months (back logged). I did take it (had it towed) to a repair shop who confirmed the code, but the man said that if he tried replacing the knock sensor or harness extension (ref: Kit Part Number 91400 C2010QQH per Technical Service Bulletin TSB 19-01-006H-3) that it probably wouldn't help and would cost me upwards of $600, and it would let Hyundai off the hook. Anyway, Hyundai Customer Care said I must get it to a Hyundai dealer before they would do anything. Got any idea's???
Sounds like you are getting combustion knock from a bad load of gasoline. Try filling up with premium from another brand Please let me know how it goes.
@@rustbucketvalleygarage7046...Thanks for your reply. I just want to confirm with you that if you got bad gas, could this cause the flashing check engine light and the subsequent P1326 code? I got ExxonMobil regular gas where I always get it. I cannot readily drain the tank and refuel (I am 73 in bad health). I don't think a repair shop would do anything with my car since it is still under warranty especially for this P code? Is there a better additive I should put in the tank (and let it run (idle) for awhile? Might it help? THX!
The knock sensor would detect combustion knock. Put some premium gas in the tank and let it run thru. Sorry but you might have to live with the low power for a bit till the gas runs thru.
If it is just a bad sensor then it can be replaced. But if you really have a valid engine knock code that should be addressed by engine repair work. Bypassing a valid code is not really advised
Such a cool scanner! Also good info to know when ruling out next steps

Yes try resetting the code and see if it comes back. Could be a bad knock sensor also.
Reset mine now it's not coming back on but issue with motor still remains.
So i have one of those scanners but You didn't show you reset it. Can you tell me how. You it?
You do a fast code reset but the engine bearings were so bad the code comes right back

Is this recall also for 2020 Kia’s ? I have one with the same issue

I am currently having the same issue with my 2014 hyundai elantra manual.

Usually when you get the code you will hear the bearings rattling. If no rattle then could be just bad sensor. Thanks for the comment.

Now that scanner is worth every penny.
Always like new toys
How did you bypass kn sensor?

There is a recall for this.
