@@realtorandrea4804 To be honest, you really don’t need my book at this point. Beck and masten was able to take care of you the first time, I don’t see how they wouldn’t again knowing those engines will keep going out. lol but if you want to buy it just to support that’s cool too 😂
@mikedeiana1504 they had my car for months they had 15 ahead of mine and when they finally got to my car it took up to a week almost 2 weeks before I got mine back
My engine was replaced at 86,000. I called kia Corp. They took 3 days to replace the engine. Warranty was until 120,000 miles. After the knock sensor update. Now have a lifetime warranty on the engine
They told us our replacement engine has lifetime warranty on it also. It's a lie. The second engine is now burning 3 quarts between oil changes. Told us they were not going to replace it.
I had a 2015 Optima. I put about 60k on it over 6 years without issue, and handed it off to my son for his first car. It was in excellent shape. He had to drive to school 3 days a week....about 150 miles round-trip and called one day saying the car was limited to 60 mph, but made it to school. I went over and took the car to Kia Dealership, where the mentioned it was probably the knock sensor.....and it was. The replaced the engine at 97500 miles at no charge. My son then totaled the car six months later. I now have a K5 GT line with 20k on it......1.6 liter turbo and have been super happy with the car. Bought my other son an Elantra with 2.0.....so far so good.....we'll see in time.
After my kia optima car engine seized at 257000 miles . I towed it to the dealer 3 days later they got the approval from Kia Motors a NEW ENGINE was ordered and installed within a couple days ! got the car back !!!!
Thank you for the info you provide and helps everybody who doesn't realize they don't have to pay for it when it's kia is responsibility . again keep up the good work yourself !!!!👍
My wife has a 2016 kia optima LX turbo. Her engine blew up a week ago with rob bearing failure and needs a new engine. According to any of the recall websites, her car is not part of any recall. How can I go to the dealership and get them to fix the issue that's obviously a failure due to manufacturer defects when there is no recall on that specific car.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. My engine has been ordered and will be installed next week. Took two weeks and a call to Kia Corporate because they told me they made a claim but corporate said they didn't. Corporate rep called the dealership and the dealership called me couple hours later with the good news. They didn't ask me for any maintenance receipts. Thank you
You have been a blessing to me and my family! My Kia Sorento engine went out shortly after buying it from a used local dealer. I didn’t know what to do I was lost and ran into your videos, I have to say thank you for informing and educating us Kia owners.
Did Kia replace your engine for free even though you got it a a local used dealer I have a 2017 sorento with 90k miles and I want to get this recall fixed before it happens lol
I have to say that I built a good relationship with the service guy at the local Kia dealership and he advised that as long as you have records of the oil changes being performed regularly and the recall software has been updated you qualify for a new engine if it does go out.
The only recall i had recently was the anti theft but before that was the software on my 2018 hyundia alentra gt hatchback 2.0 i do all the maintenance at dealerships but i had my fair share of problems with my car 😢 . But coming across this video is really helpful . I wasnt told anything about any recalls especially being at hyundai dealership just a couple of days ago. I had problems from 12,000 miles to 60,000. Thanks for the video man much appreciated 💯
Like everyone else my Kia engine seized on me on the freeway. I had it towed and after finding your videos I did what you said and had it towed to a Kia dealership here in Phoenix. After a week they let me know that I was approved and my engine is being replaced! They also offer a loaner car. Thank you so much for all your information!!
@StraightOuttaContent dealership is Camelback Kia in Phoenix AZ. You deserve the real shoutout though! Idk what I would have done if it wasn’t for you and all your valuable information. Thanks for the videos, I’ll continue to support you!
Oh! Haha you watched my videos and then used the information to get your car fixed? I thought you were just giving your story to relate that people can get their car fixed. 🤣😂. Thats dope. Hey can you write an email to straightoutofcontent@gmail.com giving like a detailed description on how you got your engine replaced. Then I’ll do a dedicated video on that process to share with everyone. People really don’t believe it’s possible so that’s dope another success story and you didn’t even have to buy the book!
I’ve had 4 engines in my 2013 optima SXL, luckily they have replaced them. I’m glad to know it’s only a 3-4 day turn around to get a rebuilt engine now. When it first was happening we had to wait months to get replacement engines 😂😂.
I just got a call today stating that Kia will replace my engine 🎉 thanks so much for this video because until I said something they didn’t even recommend. Tried charging for a diagnosis but ended up giving me a loaner car
I bought my Kia Sorento brand new in 2016. It has done 101,000 kilometres and it is less than 8 years. Am I supposed to have the engine replaced by Kia or buy a new engine myself?
I have a 2013 Kia Soul. It started burning 1.5 quarts at 75,000 miles. I brought to dealer, they verified, Kia replaced engine, gave me a loaner car until done. This was in 2021. I had no problems at all. I didn't know about the engine issues when this happened.
Was your car still under warranty? I’m having the same issue at 73k miles. I’m the second owner so I’m not under the warranty but I do have the KSDS update
I have a 2016 Kia Soul that is right now as I am typing this getting the the Engine repaired due to meeting the qualifications for the recall. However my damaged catalytic converter didn't qualify because they said I was out of warranty. The reason I am contacting you is because you have a large platform and will be able to get the word out to others. 1. Some people qualify for Engine replacement solely off the extended warranty of the current recall. This applies to people who type in their VIN # but their specific VIN # is not tied to any recalls. When this happens they can only get an extended warranty (if one is being offered) for their specific vehicle's year, make and model. In this particular situation with the Kia Engines; the engine has an extended warranty but the catalytic converter doesn't. So the Kia dealerships parts and service manager will have to contact the manufacturer on your behalf and request a "goodwill" approval for the affected part not covered under extended warranty. 2. In contrast, If you type in your VIN # and YOUR specific VIN# does come up as being part of the recall itself. Then the recall will supercede any warranty (whether you have one or not) for both the catalytic converter and the engine, because the recall never expires and it supercedes the warranty ONLY IF YOUR SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL 3. Because I fell in the first category the dealership that is repairing my vehicle got the ball rolling on requesting the goodwill repair for my Cat. I also reached out to the NHTSA who told me to submit a safety complaint about the KSDS fix not actually stopping the Catalytic converter from failing. They said the more people we can get to complain about the KSDS fix not working, then the NHTSA can put pressure on the manufacturer to ALSO issue an extended lifetime warranty for the catalytic converter as well. I will keep you posted as to whether or not I got the goodwill repair
@@ElevatedessentialzI got told no at a dealership since it has 150k and not the original owner...I have a feeling that's a lie and still looking for a solution as it eats a quart every 300 miles
I just bought my wife a Kia stinger GT line two weeks ago. It says it has an open recall. But honestly, we traded in our Kia sx koup and it had 189k miles. Never done anything but changed the oil and brakes. That car didn’t use a drop of oil etc. one of the best we ever owned. It’s still under warranty but I am gonna look into what you’re talking about
Absolutely! I have a 2013 Kia Optima. On my way home from work, it died on the highway! Kia replaced my engine asap without any problems. But it's knocking again. Also, I took it in for the security recall and had to wait 3 hours, when they said it would be a 2-hour fix for the work to be done. I had enough of the waiting, and the mechanic told me all it was to put a sticker on the windows. I was upset!!
Just got off the phone with Kia. They said the new engine was covered. But I have to pay for the catalytic converter which is 1600. The website is telling me both the engine and the catalytic converter is covered with no cost to me. The dealership is saying otherwise. Should I lawyer up?
2018 elantra 2.0 nu here. Bought it certified pre owned July 2021 w/ 18k on it. Here is is April 2023 and only have 33k on it. Changed my oil to find metal in it. Car started smoking a few days later. Im glad i stumbled across the new recall from a few months ago. Im calling my dealership monday to get this rolling. No car with 33k on it should have metal in the oil and be potentially leaking coolant into the combustion chamber causing it to smoke.
I just got my 2012 Sportage R T-GDI with a new complete 2023 Engine. It was good that all my software and ecu updates were all downloaded. They put a G4KH T-GDI 274hp with a 5year warranty. I hope it’s a good engine
Have a 2015 sonata with the 2.4l engine. I want to start by saying I will never own another Hyundai and here are many reasons why. At just 116k miles the engine randomly started misfiring and the check engine light came on while driving down the highway. After limping it home I got the car scanned and it showed a misfire in the 3rd cylinder. After attempting small fixes like spark plugs and plug wires I decided to take it to Long Hyundai, this was my second mistake aside from buying a junk Hyundai in the first place. I stopped taking our car there for oil changes initially because I found an oil filter I had changed the last time still on the car after I paid them for an oil and filter change. With the car at Long, Chris from service stated it had no compression in the 3rd cylinder and it needed head work ($5300), but was pushed to do an engine replacement which was quoted to me at $7-8k, that I would be responsible for. After trying and getting no real diagnosis on the actual problem and a very difficult time trying to communicate with the service department, I picked the car up and coughed up the $200 “diagnostic” fee for nothing. Once I picked up the car I finally got the service report and the diagnosis was “blown head gasket.” I did not have a single symptom of a blown head gasket- no coolant in the oil, no overheating, no smoke out of the exhaust, coolant was clean in the over flow tank with no bubbling. I immediately drove to S&S Auto for a second opinion and they quickly found metal material in my oil and no symptoms of a head gasket issue. Long either completely missed this or did not want to tell me. I personally saw the shavings in the oil when I picked it up from S&S. They advised me about the warranty campaign Hyundai has on the 2.4liter engines and they didn’t charge me anything for the diagnostics. After doing my own research I decided to take it back to a dealership to have them handle the situation. I called the service director-John- at Long Hyundai to explain the situation and told him I was taking the car to a different Hyundai service center to reassess. He did not care that I was taking it to another dealership after Long has misdiagnosed the issue. John just told me, “Well let me know what they find.” (Tried getting a hold of him multiple times since and have never gotten a call back) After moving the car to a third shop, this time Mnt View Hyundai, which is about an hour from my house, I talked to Brian about what was going on and he stated they have been cleaning up a lot of issues from Long. After he had the car for a couple of days he stated he had found the metal shavings in the oil and that the car was misfiring and it should be taken care of under Hyundai’s warranty campaign 953 for excessive bearing wear on the crank. He went back and forth with Hyundai Motors America and I had to give them all my receipts for the oil changes I had done and they stated that my issue was not covered under warranty since my engine wasn’t knocking or locked up yet (basically because it hadn’t left me stranded on the side of the road), but that they would cover 85% of the replaced engine. After fighting for another week and hours on the phone with Hyundai’s warranty departments and Hyundai customer care with no resolve, I had agreed to cover the 15% that Hyundai wouldn’t cover. I was still mad they wouldn’t cover 100% from their own warranty, but it was better knowing Long was going to charge me $7-8k. Brian helped me get a rental car covered from Hyundai since some of the items were on back order. I was very grateful for that since I hadn’t had the car for two weeks at this point. A couple weeks later Brian called me and stated the car should be ready in a day or two and suggested random replacements, like air filters and brakes (all I take care of myself and have receipts on the last time I changed them) I picked up the car and paid my 15% of the cost which ended up being $828. I told him I wanted a test drive, no offense to him or the dealership, but I can’t trust anyone. Upon entering the vehicle I noticed the abs light and traction light on and the blind spot detection wasn’t working. I took it for a drive and went back and talked to Brian about that, stating there was no issue with this when I brought it. He had a tech sheet stating they ran the code when they got the car and it was on. I asked why it was never brought up to me while the car was in his shop for almost 3 weeks. He stated the tech ran some tests and stated it was operating properly and didn’t want to sell me a part I didn’t need. I stated having the abs and traction light on could be dangerous and could malfunction and he stated “it won’t lock up” and “it’s fine”. However, he did offer to fix the issue for free labor and I pay for the part, which was $360. I told him I wasn’t giving Hyundai any more money and drove my car home with all three of those lights on my dash. I am glad the car has a new engine and Brian did help me out with a lot of things, but there are still issues that should have been taken care of that just weren’t. The last month with the car and dealing with all of Hyundai has been beyond frustrating and I now have a car I don’t trust or feel safe in. They have definitely lost me and my family as customers and I hope anyone reading this will think twice before buying anything made by Hyundai.
Hi, I’m in NJ and my 2013 Sonata just stawed on the Highway. Just over 75K. I’m waiting to go to the dealership tomorrow morning. Praying to God they do what’s right.
Thank you. I live in Canada. I have 2016 Kia Sportage and It burns oil fast. I'm going to get an oil consumption test so I have proof and track record. I will go to kia dealership to have it done.
Hyundai Canada replaced the 2.0 in my 14 tucson today. No questions asked. But the dealer had done most of the maintenance. Engine was knocking but not failed. Have your records. Do the pms. Watch the oil level.
Just got my 2015 Sportage approved for an engine replacement!!!! 115k miles, didn’t ask for maintenance records or anything, although I was prepared! My car was at the dealership for less than 24 hours before I got the approval call. The sensor was installed by the dealership I purchased my car at back in ‘19. But I think I would’ve gotten approved even if it hadn’t. Kia of Irvine is incredible!!!
Yoooo! thats crazy! I got a guy in Frisco who keeps getting denied because he doesnt have the ksds and his engine blew. Do you think you can email me and we can talk more off line on how you got your engine replaced. straightoutofcontent@gmail.com
@@StraightOuttaContent yeah Irvine, CA. Wish I could help. I think he can escalate through claims though. I have a corporate connect with Kia, I’ll see if she knows of a loophole as many people have had the replacement regardless of the KSDS sensor
@alesiarobinson7572 Did you happen to have that particular code that's under recall? I forget the code but I had it pop up over a year or so ago and they did the software pr computer update and I'vebeen good everysince. Does the code have to be active to get the engine replacement approved? Should have mention my engine died today while sitting parked and idling. Just changed the spark plugs not even a year ago after the engine started vibrating bad. That fixed it. Was gonna change the spark plugs again hoping that's what it is again this time but the vibration is heavier now every time I try to start it. Might finally be the end but hopefully I can get a free replacement. Last time I talked to kia about a manifold intake code issue they said I would have to pay the Diagnostics fee since the code wasn't the knock sensor code. Hope that's not the case since I don't have any codes at the time. No engine light came on at all Thanks for any help
@@adictiveadictive I’m going to be honest. I called a local Kia service center, told them I needed them to check out some issues related to some recalls and gave them my Vin number. They looked up my car and told me I had three recalls that needed attention (HECU, Anti-theft and a canister recall). The tech asked what was going on with my car and this is excatly what I said.. “I was on a road trip on a single lane road in the desert. I was passing a vehicle when suddenly my engine light started flashing and my car quickly decelerated. I drove my car to safety and the engine began knocking. A mobile mechanic was called and told me there was no oil in the car despite not having a leak and receiving an oil change 2,000 miles ago. I need this checked out because I believe this is related to recent engine recalls/campaigns”. The tech told me I need to get my car towed to their facility right away for inspection. Less than 24 hours later I get a call saying my engine is approved, I was issued a loaner car and my claim for reimbursement was approved! I only knew my KSDS update was installed because I called a different dealership to verify. I was never asked for maintenance records, I wasn’t told how I was approved or what codes popped up. It truly was one of the most seamless experiences which leads me to believe that your chances of getting an engine replacement matters less about codes and parts installed and more about the dealership you take it to. So please call around first. If the dealerships first response is to charge you for a diagnostic check, move on. They’re not interested in helping you. If they tell you to get your car in right away and sound genuinely concerned, that’s the dealership you want to go to. I’ll ask about the codes to get you a firm answer but my tech told me, everything checked out and I’m getting a new engine so it sounds like maybe I did have the P1360 (I think that’s the code) alert
I have a customer with a 2013 sorento that has main bearing failure and I called 2 Kia dealers, both service staff told me there is no such SC147 recall for engine failures.. I am in Canada 🇨🇦
We just had or 16 Soul engine replaced. Thankfully our car got approved to the swap. Think we were lucky because we had the highest level warranty, and had it serviced just at the dealership. They couldn't reject us. I feel for the folks getting screwed around. It's soooo stressful, we depend on these things to get work and get shizz done.
my son's 2018 kia optima has 89k miles and is using a lot of oil. I called a dealership and they looked up the vin number and said it qualifies but it has to be knocking or check engine light on with the pcode or simply locked up. they said it was unlimited time and mileage on the recall and they have not had trouble with kia turning down replacements
Damn I wish I saw this video… I’m in the middle of replacing my rod bearings in my 2016 Kia optima… turns out the engine was swapped before I bought the car at 30,000 miles. Now I’m at 98,000 miles and my rod bearings (and possibly more) went out. But Kia denied my claim because I don’t have receipts for all my oil changes, I do them myself. So since I couldn’t prove my oil had been changed on time they said I was shit outta luck. I want ti get out of this car so and after this but honestly I don’t want anyone else to deal with this nonsense.
I got somewhat lucky with my wording before watching this video. I said my car was burning oil but followed up immediately with the recall on the 2.4L. So the lady was nice enough to schedule a basic checkup with a possible technician cost. My intent is to have physical copies of the last 3-4 oil changes/repairs as well as photo evidence of oil consumption to demand a replacement engine on the spot. My local dealers are busy but I'll try to update my comment with how it goes in a couple of weeks.
@@danielmiller9894 We agreed to do a mandatory 1,000 mile oil consumption test (in which the engine was forced to run bone dry for quite some time) but lacked evidence for one oil change so nothing was covered. Obviously I can't afford an engine swap out of pocket so... Manufacturers/dealers/warranties are so strict nowadays but I get it. Just driving, topping off the oil often and hoping it doesn't croak anytime soon.
Thanks for the info! I have a 2017 kia optima that I bought in 2020. It was a certified pre owned vehicle. It had 29,000 miles. At 35,000 miles I slammed on brakes and oil light came on. So I immediately called dealer. The protocol was to do a deep clean of engine. It fixed issue and failed the 2nd oil consumption test. So they replaced engine that has a red dipstick that indicates ksds update. Now at around 60,000 i was having another engine burning oil issue. I was also told when engine was replaced that engine came with a lifetime warranty. So when having issue with new engine replacement. I discussed with manager of dealer. He told me that wasn't true. So to make a long story short I was also told they just replaced engine and the original spark plugs were put back into engine. Now I'm working on trying for a second engine replacement as it burned 2 qts of oil in 1000 miles. They did same thing as another decarb cleaning. Then I bring back in 1000 miles. If it burns more then a qt of oil. They decide whether to fix or replace engine. Supposedly the newer engines are updated and have BMW engineers designing them. Plus come with new spark plugs too. I'm not sure how true that is, but I will ask my mechanic who I trust because he isn't out to rip me off. My mechanic was one that made me aware of burning oil. Thank GOD I haven't had to pay a dime as it's under warranty. Car even came with an extended warranty. My mechanic told me before to not buy it because they are known for engine issues. I live in illinois and was wondering if you knew how lemon law worked on a used car. I know you have to have 3 issues of same thing before it's considered a lemon for new cars. Not sure how it works for a used car. As I'm going to research that option if needed.
Thanks. My 2017 Santa Fe Sport engine just went. But I informed the original dealer Suntrip Hyundai my car was burning oil. I can see the puff of smoke coming out the tailpipe merging onto the hwy. 1 day I had a misfire. Which I was going to replace spark plugs myself. Seen the rear of my engine. The changed a spark plug & charged me. So about 3 weeks later was time for my oil change. I told them again it's burning oil 74k miles. They said I had a valve cover leak right at the corner near passenger side fire wall. I told no oil spill on the under body cover or ground. I paid for that fix. Change dealership & now misfire came back. New dealership say U need a new engine & they put in a claim with Hyundai. Smh, how 1 dealer trying get money & other is honest. After this I will never own a Hyundai again
Your story sounds almost identical to mine. As I bought a 2017 kia optima certified pre owned one too. Had a new engine put in at around 40,000 miles. After it failed the second oil consumption test. As their protocol is so flawed. Cleaning the combustion chamber is just putting a bandaid on the situation. If an engine is burning oil. It could be from a valve leaking. So now fast forward to now. I started having issues with engine now at around 55,000 miles. After the same protocol. It passed as dealer claimed it only burned a half a quart of oil in 1000 miles. I think kia recommendation of 7500 miles between oil changes is way to high. My honest mechanic recommended to change oil at 5000 mile intervals. So after it passed the oil consumption test. Literally 2000 miles later and still have a little over 2000 miles left before an oil change is due. The oil light came on after I slammed on the brakes at a light and then light went out. So as I was able to get it to autozone to fill it up with oil. It had burned through 4 qts of oil. After calling the dealer twice to try to get ahold of the service advisor. Told them I took video of situation. That I want to bypass the oil consumption test as it pretty obvious there is an engine issue. I was informed the the service advisor would get back to me. So after two calls with the last month. Still no call back from the advisor yet. I also have an extended warranty on vehicle that the person purchased before I bought the car. Now I'm going to call kia corporate to see if I get somewhere. I also heard that the newer engines are replaced with new spark plugs. Where the first engine wasn't. So have to see how much truth is in that. I know the advisor told me that is what they do. I'm definitely never buying a kia again!
Also I live in illinois too! The lemon law doesn't pertain to used vehicles only new cars. From what I researched. If you find out differently let me know. Thanks
what’s the recall for the 2015 kia optima ? and how would you know about the engine issue? because my kia just started making a bad noise yesterday the engine shakes and it only goes 20/30 mph ..
So my car 2016 Hyundai Tucson just stopped in the middle of the street. I got it towed to my local dealer.....get a phone call the next day saying my engine blew. Without even asking about a recall the dealer told me that was the problem. Long story short i provided my maintenance history and just like that ....new engine!
My sons 2017 Optima has the THETA 2 engine and the engine died. Had it towed to the local Kia dealership here in Lafayette, LA and they told him his vehicle is ineligible for Kia to replace his engine. For us to replace it, Kia wants $7,000. I’m kind of at a loss on this issue. He bought his vehicle in 2018 at this dealership.
As I stated in my original comment, engine only has a 10-year 100,000 mi warranty. However, if maintenance wasn't kept, they can deny your claim. It's as simple as that and that goes for any dealership, including Toyota Lexus BMW Mercedes. Everybody pretty much has a similar policy in place. If you do not follow the maintenance procedures, they can deny your claim even if you paid for an extended warranty in an extra warranty. The term warranty doesn't really cover much as I found out for myself.
Your a life saver. Had 1 engine replaced already due to this recall, thinking I might hafta possibly do it again 😳😳 1st time was a HUGE hassle until I say ur video
@@jrve9498did you get your engine replaced? My Niro died they said there's a hole in the motor and it must have been driven without oil. Even though I had put oil in recently. RECALLS ARE ONLY COVERING GDI engine, not the MPI engine, right now i am going through this situation, VIN number dealer says has no recalls. My car is in the dealer shop for further diagnosis, already 500$ in, no repair, very frustrating.
I called my local dealership, and I told them I was told by their service department that there is a recall on my engine, and it’s burning oil. They asked for my Vin number and they told me there is no current engine recalls for Kia , But if you want to bring it in and we can diagnose it. We can make that appointment for you I said how much will that cost me . He said, let me contact the service department then said he will have somebody call me and contact me on the price.
Had a Optima I sold it, I couldn’t deal with not knowing when my engine would fail (considering I drive long distance back and forth to college) dad wanted me out of that car ASAP. Aunt still has a 2015 Optima (but like you doesn’t drive it much anymore) that got the ECU update done at 158k miles, the engine has always sounded wonky. It’s not a matter of IF it’s a matter of WHEN it’s gonna fail. Lol, the cars are nice but the mechanics of these 2011-2020 Optima’s are awful.
Please I need help with my situation. I got a 2016 Kia last year with 7,000 mile broke down at almost 9,000. I went as far as talking to the corporate and they told me since I was the second owner and the previous owner didn't do the recall that I don't qualify for that warranty
I’m not sure why people are buying these Hyundai/Kia vehicles. One of my friends wanted one, because her friends was telling her how Hyundai hired a whole bunch of German engineers. That one sentence was a major red flag 🚩. I took her to get a Honda product with the 2.0L turbo 10-speed transmission… she loves that thing!
I just replaced my catalytic converter for my Kia rio at 107k. At that time I also noticed my oil consumption was drastically using a lot. My recent oil change when replacing that part at 1600 miles i used 1.75 qts. I have no visible leaks and the PCV is fine. I am hoping this is part of this. :(
No fix, they have a oil consumption recall. Hope you have that ksds installed. Try and sell the car asap. I let the bank come get mine lol I will not pay for a paper weight
@@StraightOuttaContent I don't have that. i got mine from Hertz. i am checking it again for oil consumption to confirm it is truly burning oil. I am hoping i was wrong and the place that changed it did not fill it up all the way.
Hey so I confirmed my warranty went from 100k to 60k since I bought it from hertz. This means it's not on them correct? At 108k and they told me this already. Just curious if any other options other than lemon law application. On another note. I checked my oil at 500 miles and it used under a half a quart so far. I'm going to see what if Lucas heavy duty oil slows this down a little. More to come as I see options or trade in.
@alexanderkennedy2969 Hello, i change my oil often and frequently (26 times since i got it at 40K). The longest i have ever went was 3500k with full synthetic.
Mine too it was at 98,000 and no oil in it no light I just checked only 2 months after an oil change and zero oil in my car, took it in again they said they wouldn’t replace the engine and charged me for 4,600 to replace both catalytic converters , and oil change 1 month later guess what no oil in my car! I’m livid they want to keep charging me for shit instead of replacing the engine I’m pissed, any update on yours mine is 2016 Kia Soul
Hi! Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same problems you explained in your video. My 2015 Kia Optima 4CYL just seized the other day while driving. I was not due for oil change until another 3,000 miles or until the month of May... Obviously the Oil was burning wayyy too fast since I still had another 3 months or 3k miles to go before I was due for a change so finally the engine just blew.. I called my dealership today and they said that there were NO recalls for my vehicle but they will still gladly take a look at it.. What should I do/show the dealership before bringing my car in so they don’t take advantage of the situation? Also my check oil lights NEVER came on at ANY time leading up to the engine seizing.. Thank you so much for your video and taking the time to read my concerns!
Aug 13, 2023 - My Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4L engine just seized also. No warnings, no check engine lights, no knocking, no indicators it would go out. Regular shop oil changes. Jan 27th, 2023 I had all the engine gaskets and seals replaced and maintenanced for a small oil leak by my non-hyundai certified shop, the engine stopped leaking oil, it had fresh oil in it, then all of a sudden the engine seized. The shop I towed it to said the engine seized, and that the engine oil was dry. I wasn't due for an oil changed for thousands of miles. Dealership said they would take a look at it. 132,000 miles. The extended warranty ran out, insurance won't touch it. Quotes for used engine replacement is $4000 for the engine alone. Replacing it upwards of $6k-$10k replacement total cost.
I just bought a optima 2012 turbo with 157,000 miles on it from a lot because I desperately needed to get to work and spending 400 a week on Uber's . I didn't do any research or background checks and so far a week later I put new tires and brakes on it . The engine idles a little rough you can hardly notice it. After reading hundreds of reviews over the internet I'm afraid to get in it and drive it at this point.
This is true. Brand new engine and no issues. It is what it is. I’ve worked on all makes. All vehicles are crap. Just depends on how it’s taken care of. All cars have recalls. Some have flaws and others come out great. Replaced engines with 300-1000 miles on them. Great that they made an effort.
I have a 2013 Kia Optima 2.0 turbo and it just died while driving today, it had a burning smell coming from the front of the engine and I hope my engine can get replaced
After the 8th time of bring the engine in we called a lawyer and filed a lemon lawsuit against kia. After 2 months of back and forth they gave us 2 options: 1 was for Kia to buy the car back and give us a full refund or option 2: keep leasing the car and 10,000 as long as we don't sue them for engine problems. While this was going on, they gave us a rental car at no cost to us while they installed and brand new engine.
I work for a fleet company out all the new vehicles kia/hyundai are far less problematic than a jeep or Ford. Kia 2.4 theta is the problem child. An elantra with its port injection engine makes it probably second in reliability to the camrys
@ 105k here. Noticed oil disappearing in the 90k range. Eventually crossed over 100k warranty before I found out the KIA issues. I always DIY oil changes. Dont they have the right to deny if no oil change records. I have the KSDS and I spoke to one of their reps and they said its out of warranty but I have the lifetime time warranty for rod bearings. In the meanwhile the engine make a weired noise on startup and still burns oil. What would you recommend?
I have a 2011 Kia Sorento 2.4 l the rattling that you're hearing when you first start the vehicle up is your timing chain the timing chain tensioner works out. We're sure that's why it only rattles when you first started up before the oil pressure builds but eventually it's going to break off and Rick your engine completely my advice to you is don't drive it anymore until you have the timing chain replaced
I have a 2018 Hyundai gt sport that the engine blew a year ago. Would I still be able to do this? It has been sitting and I honestly haven't touched it since.
I don't own Kia, however one of my relatives told me that her 2017 Optima LX had an engine issue and it was replaced under the recall. A couple of months ago my uncle acquired 2017 Optima LX or so, and it has about 65k miles. How to know if this engine will/will not fail and in the future? In others words is there any way to check and know if the engine in the car is prone to the recall.
They all fail because they all were manufactured with the same recall. Who ever is the current owner of the car is responsible for getting the ksds update or when that engine fails they will get denied
@@StraightOuttaContent I told my uncle about this and he went to Kia. They told him that this car already was updated and don't need anything else. Thanks!
Thanks for this comment because i have a 2017 Kia Optima LX and the Kia dealership (not the one i purchased from) said I wasn’t eligible for anything but a software update
I got screwed, dealer wants five grand for the motor can’t optimum said they’d call me back and not to call them again and that I would either pay half or they would pay for the Kia in full and it was a 50-50 chance. Still haven’t heard a reply, and that was two months ago I believe or getting close to it
I took my Kia for the engine swap recall . On top of that they charged me 800+ for other maintenance it needed . Which I didn’t mind paying because it needed it done . But I noticed the engine still makes a weird noise when on and when I speed … so I was wondering how do you know if they really changed the engine ? And when you get an engine swap is it still the same milage that u took it in with ?
I know a lady who got her engine done and she said they don't replace the whole engine. Just the what she called the 'small block' - Where the wear occurs due to lack of lubrication, i'd assume
I have a 2015 optima and the dealer tried to tell me it is NOT under any warranty , and they were trying to make me pay SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for a new long block/repairs. I went above the dealers head to corporate and got my engine fixed for FREE, and hopefully the manager of that dealership got fired. I know he probably didn’t but do NOT go to the dealership if this happens, get in contact with Kia themselves.

My car blew up on the freeway. The dealership finally finished it today after 3 months. My invoice is $6,330.15. I have to pay $3,000 cash today! The rest has to be on a card. Engine replacement. I’m so sick of this headache.
My mom has a 2013 Kia Optima 2.0 turbo and her engine quit on her at 86000 miles while she was on the freeway, now with the new engine I told her if it has anymore issues trade it in for a Toyota Camry.
They dont replace them with "new" engines. They just rebuild the ones from crashes and junk cars. They have the exact same issue. Trade that thing in ASAP! doing a video now on the car.
Legit just happened to me on Thursday and took it in Friday. I called told them it was for the recall, i even let the guy hear it and he was like whoa bring it in. Made sure i had oil in it and now just waiting for Kia to approve it. Once this is done im switching my car as this is one of the worst vehicles i have ever purchased.
Okay, as a former parts manager at Kia and Hyundai, these engines had a recall and were warranty 100% within the warranty terms 10-year or 100,000 mi or 60k if used. The people complaining about issues at 100,000 after the warranty expired and then blaming Kia for it. It's not Kia's fault. Timing is everything on these cars. If timing isn't done on certain models at 60k, you're guaranteed to blow up the engine to simple as that. It's not Kia's fault. Kia owned up to it and started replacing a bunch of engines for free even with customers. I already had 100k. Kia knew they had a design flaw and was replacing the motors, particularly the 2.4s.
all you did was explain how the cars are terrible. This shouldn’t be a issue and the fact you are trying to defend it shows how dumb you are. A engine shouldn’t blow after 100k miles with constant care and upkeep
So my 2015 Optima just Stopped working!! Thank god We Found your video!! So are we screwed since it’s not working or do I still call and tell them everything you just said ???
It’s one too many blunders for Hyundai/Kia. My 2016 Santa Fe had 80k miles when it started burning TONS OF OIL. And yes, I did regular oil changes. I will never buy one again
Mine still burns oil. I have done some engine flushes with liqui moly and seafoam.some valve cleaner in gas tank. Mpg up and quieter. It is using oil maybe 50% less. About half a qt every 800 miles. It varies for all on this process.
My Kia dealership thinks they're somehow making a smart business move by denying to replace my FAULTY engine. Yet in the LONG run they're gonna loose hundreds of thousands of dollars because I will never buy a Kia vehicle again, nor will anyone in my family. AND I will share the awful experiences I have had with Kia to anyone who's looking for input on a car purchase. Kia thinks they're smart but word of mouth spreads fast & they put out a TRASH product and now don't want to stand behind it (in my case on a technicality). That is NOT how to do business. If they would have stepped up and did the RIGHT thing and replaced the engine they would have had a customer for LIFE. They lost SO much more than they realize 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 NEVER again Kia.
Someone mentioned they were having issues with cylinder misfires. I’m having the same issues, cylinder 1 & 4 are the ones that keep misfiring. I’ve changed the coils and spark plugs. In Sept 2023 all four spark plugs were replaced and I have had 2 go out since May of this year. I was also told that my car may be burning oil. I’m usually having to put oil in before my 5k oil change and the dealer says the coils and spark plugs are not a warranty covered issue. I don’t know what to do but I know that these cylinders shouldn’t keep doing this. Any suggestions are welcomed!
I wish I knew about this page before I traded in my Kia for a Toyota Camry. I got tired of KIA BS with the rub around. Engine didn’t blow yet but it was consuming oil
Yeah I discovered that! Seeing this after the fact. It was a recall on my engine that they dont tell you about. Long story short I got approved for a new engine for free & they also paid for the diagnostic test as well. Do your research that's what I did! Thank God for ordering my steps because I would've never knew!
I went to the Hyundai website put my Vin number in saw that my vehicle was affected. After that you call the Hyundai dealership & the process begins. I had to get a history of all of my oil changes to show them that I got them regularly. I'm glad that I did because they would not have approved it even though it's their fault.
Off subject but I'm a worship singer/choir director too! I love Jesus it was nobody but him that lead me to get a free engine!!!! He know I didn't have the money! All things work together for the the good!! Romans 8:28 I pray it happens for you too!!
@@315prettytlgMam I bought a 2018 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L Sport for 12,000 dollars It’s just been 3 weeks since I bought it and I got check engine light flashing on dashboard then immediately I took it to auto zone to see what’s going on, then they said it has a code P1326 which is because of an engine recall , I called the dealership and I have scheduled an appointment for today , i have no idea what they gonna say but they told me to get the diagnostics first Could you please give me some suggestions on it , I pray god gonna save me from this Getting a car for 12,000 dollars and looking at it like this is the worst thing that happened in my whole life
Got my new engine after catastrophic engine failure. The only thing is that KIA ran out of long block engines so I had to settle for a short block engine. The short block engine doesn't quite feel like the long block but what the heck? I've got a lifetime warranty secured no matter what ever else happens to the engine.
It should feel exactly the same because long/short block aren’t different engines a short block means it only comes installed with bottom end components rods/pistons/crankshaft long block means it comes with all that plus cylinder head and all the valve train (top end) installed so in your case you have a new bottom end and ur old top end also anything that bolts too the front or the or the sides is also from ur old engine the only possible exception being the water pump
A friend has a 2012 Sonata that drinks oil with 150k on it, she's owned it for 2 years. I stopped at one dealership and the guy flat out said "nope" since she was not the original owner.... Still hoping to find a solution somewhere as this car is everything she owns.
8/25/2023 KIA Sportage 2015, My engine went out about 2 days ago , I booked an appointment for 09/01/2023, which was the latest date available. I called the dealer and had a conversation with a service representative, he told me to bring the car in to the dealer, I used a tow truck to deliver to the dealer(Kia of Milford Service Center CT). There are other four recalls that I came to knew through a call at Kia. I will update if they try to screw me with the engine and will update you if they replace the engine without any issue. Thank you for the video and do help me out if they try to charge me for the recall issue.
I hope you had your Ksds software update in your car, if not, they can deny it, I have a 2015 Kia optima and I had the Ksds update done a week ago and my engine seized yesterday, I'm calling them today if I'm eligible for a new engine, good luck with your claim buddy.
Update 9/14/2023 just received a call for the dealer stating that the damage does not falls under the class action lawsuit, there was something wrong with the psi of the engine and hence it won't be covered by the warranty. Do let me know if there is anything that can be done.
I have A 2014 Kia Optima SX 2.0 L turbo 132k on the original motor , my crank shaft took a shit, Took it to a local shop (that Does free diagnostics) told me a I had a bad motor , Took it to my old dealership I worked at (tempe kia in Tempe Arizona) Motor was replaced for free , i literally pick it up tomorrow, been driving a 2024 Kia sorento until my cars done , i literally might buy this sorento as well now 😂😂 love it , But ready to get turbo car back 😊😊 Kia’s are great if you keep up with your Maintenance they will last
My 2018 hyundai died they sent me the papers. It was recalled the deadline was june 29 you must have proof of maintenence oil changes. If not your screwed they are going to give me the difference on the trade in trade it in
hey brother i have a 2016 hyundai sonata se under 79,000 miles just got code saying p1326 knock sensor. could you help me find a recall on this model i cant find one or understand what to do about this. i thank you for your time and efforts have a blessed day brother you rock .
Who all are from Texas? What dealerships in Texas did you use that got theirs replaced? Im hearing horror stories about denials. Especially if you are missing even 2 or 3 oil changes. Its crazy. Mine has not blown YET. I am trying to be prepared. Mine is a 2017 Santa Fe Sport.
A followup on the car. Dealership called me and stated the engine was seized. They didn't mention no oil in the engine. I asked for the documentation of their diagnosis, and they stated on the documentation the engine oil level was normal, engine oil color was normal, there was no oil leak, no engine oil consumption. Two shops confirmed there was no oil in the engine before during or after the engine died on the road. I have video and photo evidence of this. So the dealership lied about the engine oil so it does not fall under excessive oil consumption. Saying they won't replace it under recall, even though I had the engine oil gaskets and seals replaced and new oil added on Jan 20th, 2023. From them until now, with no oil leaks and no engine oil consumption, lost 5 whole quarts of oil. I'm seeking legal advice now with all the evidence. Further updates coming...
I literally just had a issue with my 2016 fully loaded EX i was on the expressway it did a lil shudder and slowed down i couldnt get it past 60 luckily i was about 10miles from a Lia dealership took it str8 in they kept it overnight he claimed it mightve been my knock sensor and then said i had very little oil when i had just got a oil change. So he recommended me to get the oil change and go from there they called me yesterday and said i needed a system update. Wtbs i dont trust it now and ready to get rid of it my car only has 94k on it. It do drive fine now but i dont want to deal with the whole engine replacement. I will never buy another Kia and i was really thinking about getting the Sorrento. The man at the dealership told me the best cars there is the Telluride and Niro
The man lied to you lol those cars have the exact same engine issues. Lol please god stay away from all hyundai, kia genesis products. Theyre cheap for a reason. Remember, you get what you pay for. Buy toyota or a honda and never worry again.
our 2012 Kia Optima 2.4 GDI, Doing 80 MPH on the freeway and all RPMS dropped to 0, car shut off while doing 80 MPH, The car struggled to start and was in limp mode, Got it home, We let it sit for awhile and it drives but not good at all, There is absolutely no lights on the dashboard at all, we took it to kia and we are hoping to get a new engine..
I got a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. I have warned Motorworld that engine is burning oil. Now my engine stopped working & the car did not give any warnings. Hyundai will not be covering it because it’s only for certain parts in the engine. Even tho the whole engine needs to be replaced. It is fascinating how you can tell a mechanic somethings wrong and come back with a “we found the problem” about a month later the engine stops working. I religiously have brought this car for its due services to hyundai motorworld now here we are.
Update just spoke to Hyundai now they’re saying because I am not the original owner I am not covered for the 100k mile engine replacement. Lol apparently if you’re the second owner it’s only cover for 60k with 5 years on it and I’ve only put 40k on the car and I’ve only owned it for 3yr. But they, for some reason can’t give me this information in writing it’s just different representatives, giving me different information. How awesome is that? Bottom line hyundai & kia never again.
I wish i saw this sooner. I have a 17 sorento 2.4 that i bought 5 months ago. The engine just blew and i have no idea if they did the ksd. Im hoping the dealership i got it from did. I haven't had it long enough to recieve a notice, and nothing was said at the dealership. I stay on top of maintenance, so having a engine fail 7k miles after driving it off the lot is insane to me. I dont get how engine replacement is even up for debate. Engines dont fail at 70-80k. Mine was burning 1.5 quarts per 1000 miles since the day i bought it. (That doesn't happen overnight, so it has probably been burning it for way longer) They wouldn't do anything then, so i doubt they will now.
My Kia is getting an engine replacement!!!! Yay! My vin was applicable for the new theta ii class action. I was almost charged My engine blew on the highway and I told them about the recall.

Did they make you do an oil consumption test first ?
What is corp number
I m having the same issue, how can I get in touch with them?

How can I go to the dealership and get them to fix the issue that's obviously a failure due to manufacturer defects when there is no recall on that specific car.
+1 for calling out the dealership. Call 'em out, king
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. My engine has been ordered and will be installed next week. Took two weeks and a call to Kia Corporate because they told me they made a claim but corporate said they didn't. I have to say that I built a good relationship with the service guy at the local Kia dealership and he advised that as long as you have records of the oil changes being performed regularly and the recall software has been updated you qualify for a new engine if it does go out.

I bought my Kia Sorento brand new in 2016. It has done 101,000 kilometres and it is less than 8 years.
Am I supposed to have the engine replaced by Kia or buy a new engine myself?
Kia is sleazy. Dealership refused to do recall for ksds.
I am having a motor replacement this Wednesday because it's going through a lot of oil . It's a 2017 kia rio.
Then the recall will supercede any warranty (whether you have one or not) for both the catalytic converter and the engine, because the recall never expires and it supercedes the warranty ONLY IF YOUR SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL
It’s still under warranty but I am gonna look into what you’re talking about
Super true I got mine replaced for the knock engine censor I didn’t buy it from Kia I got mine at a local lot so please get your car fixed 😊
Your Kia was used ? They said since I was the second owner that I do not qualify for the engine replacement
Absolutely! I have a 2013 Kia Optima. On my way home from work, it died on the highway! Kia replaced my engine asap without any problems. But it's knocking again. Also, I took it in for the security recall and had to wait 3 hours, when they said it would be a 2-hour fix for the work to be done.
Were you under 150000 miles? They told me no because I’m 23000 miles over that :/
Have a 2015 sonata with the 2.4l engine.
John just told me, “Well let me know what they find.” (Tried getting a hold of him multiple times since and have never gotten a call back)
After moving the car to a third shop, this time Mnt View Hyundai, which is about an hour from my house, I talked to Brian about what was going on and he stated they have been cleaning up a lot of issues from Long.

@alesiarobinson7572
Did you happen to have that particular code that's under recall?
No engine light came on at all
Thanks for any help
What a wonderful, concise explanation. Intelligent and very courteous. I know some KIA owners and will help them with this, Carl. God Bless you.
I have a customer with a 2013 sorento that has main bearing failure and I called 2 Kia dealers, both service staff told me there is no such SC147 recall for engine failures.. I am in Canada 🇨🇦
Im not sure. Canada has its own legal laws pertaining to these issues.
They said that to me as well.
Gotta check out my new Handbook: www.flashcustomtransfers.com/product/kiahyundaienginehandbook/265
So what I’m hearing is don’t buy one on fb marketplace for 3.5k😕🥲
Damn I wish I saw this video… I’m in the middle of replacing my rod bearings in my 2016 Kia optima… turns out the engine was swapped before I bought the car at 30,000 miles. Now I’m at 98,000 miles and my rod bearings (and possibly more) went out. But Kia denied my claim because I don’t have receipts for all my oil changes, I do them myself. So since I couldn’t prove my oil had been changed on time they said I was shit outta luck. I want ti get out of this car so and after this but honestly I don’t want anyone else to deal with this nonsense.
They said the same to me for only 2 oil changes i did on my own when all the others were done at Kia dealership
Any updates?
@@danielmiller9894 We agreed to do a mandatory 1,000 mile oil consumption test (in which the engine was forced to run bone dry for quite some time) but lacked evidence for one oil change so nothing was covered. Obviously I can't afford an engine swap out of pocket so... Manufacturers/dealers/warranties are so strict nowadays but I get it. Just driving, topping off the oil often and hoping it doesn't croak anytime soon.
Just got my engine replaced. Love your videos
Did he have the ksds?
As I stated in my original comment, engine only has a 10-year 100,000 mi warranty. However, if maintenance wasn't kept, they can deny your claim. It's as simple as that and that goes for any dealership, including Toyota Lexus BMW Mercedes. Everybody pretty much has a similar policy in place. If you do not follow the maintenance procedures, they can deny your claim even if you paid for an extended warranty in an extra warranty. The term warranty doesn't really cover much as I found out for myself.
Spun a bearing on our 2015, towed it in Monday (its now Wednesday) the engine is already being replaced through the warranty.

2018 Kia Optima, GDI engine

What happened with your situation? The exact thing happened to me with my 2018 Santa Fe Sport with only 70k miles.

I have sorento with the 2.4 that burns oil 1qt every thousand. Will this issue covers?
Oil consumption recall
@@StraightOuttaContent thank you!
Never have had a problem with my 13 RIO. 142000 miles. I change the oil myself every 4,000 miles using Mobil One synthetic and Mobil One filter.

I am with my 2016 Kia optima
Please help
My car won’t start and I wasn’t told about the update because it wasn’t around at the time
My car blew up on the freeway. The dealership finally finished it today after 3 months. My invoice is $6,330.15. I have to pay $3,000 cash today! The rest has to be on a card. Engine replacement. I’m so sick of this headache.
Why am I told I’m only
Covered for 120k or upto 10 years in service on engine short block warranty extension ?
My mom has a 2013 Kia Optima 2.0 turbo and her engine quit on her at 86000 miles while she was on the freeway, now with the new engine I told her if it has anymore issues trade it in for a Toyota Camry.
They dont replace them with "new" engines. They just rebuild the ones from crashes and junk cars. They have the exact same issue. Trade that thing in ASAP! doing a video now on the car.
Thanks!
Bro! Thank you! Truly appreciate it
Legit just happened to me on Thursday and took it in Friday.
Mikhail. Why would a engine that is controlled by the ecu need to have the timing checked?
So my 2015 Optima just Stopped working!! Thank god We Found your video!! So are we screwed since it’s not working or do I still call and tell them everything you just said ???
Gotta check out my new Handbook: www.flashcustomtransfers.com/product/kiahyundaienginehandbook/265
I had a bad experience with them also. I will spread the word too. They are awful. I had to hire an attorney.
My book is suggestion #1
Suggestion #2 book consultation with me
I wish I knew about this page before I traded in my Kia for a Toyota Camry. I got tired of KIA BS with the rub around. Engine didn’t blow yet but it was consuming oil
2023 Kia 1.6l hybrid Niro got those recalls?
My 2018 Kia optima sxl turbo engine is having the same issue but would also shut off after idling rough. Hopefully this will help thanks for info 🤞🏾
Yeah I discovered that! Seeing this after the fact. It was a recall on my engine that they dont tell you about. Long story short I got approved for a new engine for free & they also paid for the diagnostic test as well. Do your research that's what I did! Thank God for ordering my steps because I would've never knew!
How were you able to get the engine for free?
I went to the Hyundai website put my Vin number in saw that my vehicle was affected. After that you call the Hyundai dealership & the process begins. I had to get a history of all of my oil changes to show them that I got them regularly. I'm glad that I did because they would not have approved it even though it's their fault.
Off subject but I'm a worship singer/choir director too! I love Jesus it was nobody but him that lead me to get a free engine!!!! He know I didn't have the money! All things work together for the the good!! Romans 8:28 I pray it happens for you too!!
@@315prettytlgMam I bought a 2018 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L Sport for 12,000 dollars
It’s just been 3 weeks since I bought it and I got check engine light flashing on dashboard then immediately I took it to auto zone to see what’s going on, then they said it has a code P1326 which is because of an engine recall , I called the dealership and I have scheduled an appointment for today , i have no idea what they gonna say but they told me to get the diagnostics first
Could you please give me some suggestions on it , I pray god gonna save me from this
Getting a car for 12,000 dollars and looking at it like this is the worst thing that happened in my whole life
Got my new engine after catastrophic engine failure.
@@martyjoseph9507 No solution. Grab my book. Use it to get the ksds, wait till engine blows, get new engine. Without ksds you will be denied.
I got rid of the sorento in 2019 because of the engine problems. Can I get a settlement for a 2005 kia sorento purchased 02/07/2006?
I have A 2014 Kia Optima SX 2.0 L turbo 132k on the original motor , my crank shaft took a shit, Took it to a local shop (that Does free diagnostics) told me a I had a bad motor , Took it to my old dealership I worked at (tempe kia in Tempe Arizona) Motor was replaced for free , i literally pick it up tomorrow, been driving a 2024 Kia sorento until my cars done , i literally might buy this sorento as well now 😂😂 love it , But ready to get turbo car back 😊😊 Kia’s are great if you keep up with your Maintenance they will last
My 2011 Sonata died this past Friday. Have an appt on the 29th. Praying Hyundai covers it.
I’ve got a 2023 Sorento SX Prestige with the 2.5 turbo I’m hoping I won’t have issues it’s been fine so far had it 11 months
Moral to the story buy a TOYOTA!
What if you don’t have a recall popping up but your engine is making noise what do you do
I literally just had a issue with my 2016 fully loaded EX i was on the expressway it did a lil shudder and slowed down i couldnt get it past 60 luckily i was about 10miles from a Lia dealership took it str8 in they kept it overnight he claimed it mightve been my knock sensor and then said i had very little oil when i had just got a oil change.
😂my Kia has been in shop for 3 months! Engine blew! Supposed to be in Colorado working 5 weeks ago!
our 2012 Kia Optima 2.4 GDI, Doing 80 MPH on the freeway and all RPMS dropped to 0, car shut off while doing 80 MPH, The car struggled to start and was in limp mode, Got it home, We let it sit for awhile and it drives but not good at all, There is absolutely no lights on the dashboard at all, we took it to kia and we are hoping to get a new engine..
I was almost charged My engine blew on the highway and I told them about the recall.
how many miles did your vehicle have ?
