Like you said, status builds have a great mental game more than anything. It's one of the reasons I enjoy using the Morning Star over the Mace, as the ~6-10 AR loss is worth pushing less confident opponents into the panic zone with bleed. They see the status bars building, which pushes them to make mistakes, and if they make those mistakes often enough, you're rewarded with extra free damage. Over time or burst, that extra damage is what contributes to a terrifying build, and it's my favourite mind game to play.

Just a little tip, fetid pots do not increase your poison build up bar by 60% or smt, but rather have a fixed value (not sure if arcane scaling also increases the poison you give to yourself) so if you just take of your armor, or maybe just the chest piece, should be enough to proc in 1 pot
Rotten axe + Bloodhoundstep + Poison affinity. Puts both debuffs on target. Off hand is rotten staff. By the time the first buff from the crown wears off, poison procs and it triggers again. Very strong. Poison pots are smart. Good idea.

Been rocking those fully upgraded +25 Dual Rotten Great Axes with Poisoning equipped as well as Royal Knights Resolve on both with the Mushroom crown and outfit along with the poisoning / rot scorpion talisman my last couple NG+ playthroughs but I also used upgraded +9 dual Pully Bows with Rotten and Poison bolts as well for that range you spoke the main rot weapons don't have. Between the colossal weapons buff to make them hit a little faster and all those other buffs, I get a lot of damage and the poison build up / status effect pretty fast as well after especially if I can hit a set of bolts or two with the crossbow, I also buff with the Fire Grant Me Strength incantation as well. The rot is a little harder to achieve as the ratios are much different as poison is like 150 build up to Rot being 65 even with the the dual yielding but it's been a fun build. Now I'm trying a upgraded Great Sentinel Shield and Lance set up with Seppuku, White mask, and the Mohg Blood Talisman. If people think Bleed got nerfed try it again.
For farming string, the Lux Ruins (Altus Plateau, west of the grand lift), and the town where you get Comet Azur in Mt Gelmir (Hermit Village?) have lots of Demi-Humans, they could be potential spots to farm. I noticed you said poison is about 8 dmg per second, but iirc that's definitely not true, because it doesn't deal a flat amount of damage, at least in pve it's a max health %/second thing, I would expect it to have a different % value on pvp, but not to just be a flat damage. Unless you meant it does this damage on a expected 50/60 vigor player and 8 would be the top damage you can get
Awesome build as always buddy. Its refreshing to not see "86.72% of players dont know this OP weapon exists and its so BROKEN it breaks the game" Im very excited for your school work to be done in 4 weeks so we can get even more videos lol.
Hosts in this game are insane. Tea bagging after a 1v2 or 1v3 where they spammed spells/AoW with their max lvl phantom buddies, and then go online to call invaders toxic assholes.
Congratulations are in order, someone made calculus in videogames fun. Mothers are lining up at FromSoftware like their arms broken… from writing all that quality code… yes…
Great build very informative video, it’s a shame there isn’t better support for poison, yet something like bleed can be so so over powered. If only they would make some changes to it somehow, increase the buildup the heavier a weapon is perhaps? Something subtle but effective, or maybe make it so the poison cloud ash of war has a larger AOE? Introduce a spell or weapon with a unique ash of war that increases your poison buildup for a certain time? There’s got to be some way of making it more viable considering how iconic poison is in the series, some of the most memorable levels were poison ones
i think the biggest issue is that poison takes a lot to set up but doesnt give the same value as bleed or frost when its applied. they need to have poison be a really fast build up in order to make it viable.
Those goblin screacher guys underneath that bridge below Kenneth hight u go to fort hight for in limegrave forget the name u get string eveeytime u clear out the mobs (just looked up what the actual names lol said the wrong thing at first)

Wait a second this is not LoL or Rossboomsocks. Lovely video anyways, I wanna do a ds2 rotten cosplay with the omen armour and poison, rot and more rot and most rot is perfect for that.
It surprises me that heavy poison went under your radar. It does x2 poison damage for 20 ticks (ScarRot does x3 poison damage for 90ticks), and is very useful on top of the rot, as it matches well with the damage buff. My current build is full dex Serpentbone Blade (innate heavy poison) and Scorpion Stinger. I took out Rykard this way last night. Another weapon with innate heavy poison is Venomous Fang and it scales with arc, for a potential build with occult Antspur Rapier.
Nah it didnt go under it just still is inferior. the best part of the poison build is solely the Damage Buff that the mushroom crown and kindred of rot talisman provide (32% dmg for 20 seconds) the main focus of the video is the Self Poison and the pots allow you to activate the talisman and hat buffs whenever you want! and easily refresh it
my guess is they are gonna nerf spears since most other power stance weapon attacks are slower than regular attacks which is the risk you are taking to deal more damage so get those invasions in now

@@syrobe I mean bhs IS a problem but its not your fault if you like using it, the devs shouldn't of put an ability that literally makes you immortal 94% of the time. If you'd like a fair way of using it pick up quickstep as its pretty similar but doesn't remove roll catching and spacing from the game. Though don't feel pressured into not using it, the competitive scene and good players will deal with it, use rules, or go back to DS3 for a while until its toned down. The game's meant to be more casual maybe even down to removing rollcatching and spacing, don't let elitists ruin your fun.
Going from 46 vig to 60 would be giving you 18.3% more health, which outrades the ~8.5% damage you're getting from your last 14 levels of dex, especially since some of your damage should come from status anyways. This isn't taking flasks into account though, or the fact that some statuses do/don't scale with health. From an invasion perspective though, if you're getting one flask back per kill, adding one flask to both sides of your 60vig/46vig fraction for health should give at least 12% health still.
Strings? Just go to the Craftsman's Shack Site of Grace just a bit south of Volcano Manor, nearby the shack are four demi humans hiding amongst a flock of sheep. Just use the Silver Scarab talisman and kill the four, refresh, and do it all over again.

Is it possible for you to make a video for new people explaining how ashes of war work as in the difference between standard form and the other option. With a little in depth on what scales with what.

The idea of this build is honestly amazing ! The only problem i could think of against it is the existence of law of regression. Because than your build is bricked at that point but the upside is idiots dont use it lol
Was just gathering stuff for my next playthrough which I wanted to run poison. I never thought about the poison pots! That eliminated a huge weakness my build had. Fat fucking like left!
unlikely, I'm pretty sure that it only uses your level and the highest weapon upgrade achieved with that character like the old games. It would be complicated to make a power scale using itens owned as a parameter.
btw i dont think the rotten crystal spear is that rare, i also got like 2 of these and i never actively farmed for them, the droprate seems to be super high which makes sense since these crytal enemies are super hard to kill for regular enemies.
8:50 so when it comes to the stats everything makes sense except for the 25 strength. Since you started on the samurai class (16 starting strength) thats 9 whole points into a rather unimportant stat for this build since 16 strength meets the requirements of both cross naginata and rotten crystal spear. Would the 9 points be better off going into dex for more attack damage or even endurance so you can swap out the arsenal jar talisman for something like the green turtle talisman? Also I’m not sure if you said what your wondrous physicks are but I’m guessing you’re using the dexterity knot crystal tear and greenburst crystal tear? Btw this build is super fun, haven’t finished the build yet but this sweeps through most pve enemies even without using rot grease
I disagree about 1 thing. The build up of poison status is easy dual curved swords out paced blood flame blade and blood infusion. The trick is to land a jumping attack because it’s a multi hit which builds status fast. Whether you like jumping attacks is another thing.
@@syrobe landing 1 dual wielding curved sword attack is 2 hits from each sword that’s 2x the status build up of each weapon for 1 attack. I want to say that’s enough to cause poison but it depends on their immunity. I tried poison but found bleed to be stronger even without arcane investment.
now, all this is nice All this is incredibly useful and fun BUT I still prefer my absolute GOBLIN build of dual Antspurs, one with bleed/ Seppukku buff, the other infused poison/ Chilling Mist buff. The sheer panic some people have when they see all four status bars just appear after one power stance poke is glorious.
Imagine being mad about invading and then getting ganked 😂 what irony. You're looking to crush scrubs and then get annoyed when they you end up invading a tank squad. All that aside cool build !
comments like these are so funny because of how idiotic they are lmao i wasnt mad about being ganked it was annoying that they teabagged after ganking as a moon veil spammer and someone comboing honed bolt, that combo is literally impossible to play against and even then i still got close to beating them because they were really bad, i only lost the first time because its impossible to dodge both attacks at once if they use it at the same time. they were too stupid enough to actually time it but the one time they land it on accident im dead!
@@syrobe YOU INVADED THEM lol. Getting annoyed is basically a synonym for being mad. There's barely a difference. And impossible to avoid or not, you invaded them. I literally do games like this just help prevent other people from getting invaded. Youre upset because you invaded a world and they used a combo that's extremely strong and then teabagged you for invading. Like I said you're looking to invade scrubs you're literally no different than them except I'd say there's position is better because they aren't trying to invade anyone you are. I literally wouldn't have had anything to say at all if you were using the duelist summoning sign. And I would actually agree with what you said if you had been. I love crushing terrible counter arguments 😂 all that said I stand by my first statement cool build !
I teach engineering and the title photo got me hooked, I’ll edit at the end on how I liked the vid. Edit: solid video. I guess this means I will be the, self poison, pelvic thrusting, helicopter knight in my ng+. Very cool. Very unconventional
I use antspur with seppuku tuned to poison. I can apply all 3 status effects at once, using both the rot and blood talismans. Once I set dots, I swap to Mohgs spear. With 55 arcane, I typically apply poison on the 2nd hit, rot on the 4th.
Ssssoo.. You like poissson do you? Here, try thisss.... *Coil Shield aquired!*No one ever expectss a ssnake to the face! Seriously this thing is hilarious! It's a buckler that looks like a coiled viper, and the weapon art has the snake bite the target at roughly the same range as a whip.

Good stuff. I came here looking for how rot/bleed/poison etc build up before it activates the de buff and how each tick calculates. Found my new build instead
Cool glad to see I've been doing this intelligently I've been using fetid pots to gruntee poison on self and poison on them if lucky and then I just use my favorite weapons normally with the extra damage
I'm really confused. You say a few useful and original informations so I enjoyed the video. But on the other hand, the build doesn't make sense since dual spear 3-4 shot everyone at 60 Vigor, why would you want to rot someone who is already dead? Also, ngl I laughed a lot when I heard "I'm pretty good in pvp", well you wouldn't know if you are actually any good if you play with dual spear and bloodhound's step ahah. Dual spear is the best or second best (Greatshields+poke weapon) build that outshine everything else and you are also using the skill negator "Bloodhound's step", you don't need to learn how to time your rolls, not getting roll caught etc. You might be good at the game but with this build, no one can tell.

Its refreshing to not see "86.72% of players dont know this OP weapon exists and its so BROKEN it breaks the game"
Im very excited for your school work to be done in 4 weeks so we can get even more videos lol.
That alt F4 at the end had me dying, great build and show case Cheers!
Love the shrigma male build, awesome video! Where do you farm aeonian butterflies?
Those goblin screacher guys underneath that bridge below Kenneth hight u go to fort hight for in limegrave forget the name u get string eveeytime u clear out the mobs (just looked up what the actual names lol said the wrong thing at first)
That dud on top of the broken ruin ark in Limgrave, Keneth Heights. yeah, under the ark should be a band of beastmen, have fun farming ropes and glowstones
Invader moralizing never ceases to amaze. With that build and tactic you waive the right to complain about gankers, let's be fair.
Wait a second this is not LoL or Rossboomsocks. Lovely video anyways, I wanna do a ds2 rotten cosplay with the omen armour and poison, rot and more rot and most rot is perfect for that.
I always use the mushroom hats for my drip in DS3 so this build is definitely a keeper
Nah it didnt go under it just still is inferior. the best part of the poison build is solely the Damage Buff that the mushroom crown and kindred of rot talisman provide (32% dmg for 20 seconds) the main focus of the video is the Self Poison and the pots allow you to activate the talisman and hat buffs whenever you want! and easily refresh it
my guess is they are gonna nerf spears since most other power stance weapon attacks are slower than regular attacks which is the risk you are taking to deal more damage so get those invasions in now
Man KH sound effects are SO SATISFYING
Also
>"I'm really good at pvp"
>Dual spear bloodhound step
Bruh
Yep any body who uses those spears with BHS claiming theyre good at this game is no better than pressing only l2
@@sturmmagnunstein1008 nah u guys are just annoying youtube comments as usual ruclips.net/video/T06e5ED_8Mg/видео.html heres another video with 30 minutes of raw pvp clips not using any of that but you guys will still find a way to complain its pretty pathetic!
The game's meant to be more casual maybe even down to removing rollcatching and spacing, don't let elitists ruin your fun.
i was thinking about that DS2 AOE Poison Wings, they let you float and whatnot. id kill for that in elden ring.
10:29 OK!! I did not know the DS3 backstep cancel was still there. Fuck yeah! Good shit man.
Mathematically correct going from lol to elden ring nice
Wait, is that the BALD! sample in the background? U got pretty based music taste there bro.
This is easily the most annoying build I've ever seen I'm bout to do it and just invade people 😂😂😂😂
Please don't use build like this in duels. Having to farm shit in order to participate will kill the fun out of it.
Now I’m curious what a 30% increase on a holy knights resolve jump attack strength build would look like lol.
Yo bro I was trying to make a poison build for the longest like I even use poison moth fling it was getting so desperate
I had this vague idea of doing a rot/poison build using exactly these weapons but i didn't know how to do that properly... Thanks mate :))
That transition along with the Vsauce music! 😂😂
Genius.
Using shit jars to become stronger? LOATHSOME DUNG EATER energy.
Gotta say, the kingdom heart sound effects are incredibly satisfying and very nostalgic for me.
hell yea ive been a fan for years
Strings? Just go to the Craftsman's Shack Site of Grace just a bit south of Volcano Manor, nearby the shack are four demi humans hiding amongst a flock of sheep. Just use the Silver Scarab talisman and kill the four, refresh, and do it all over again.
thanks for the info!
Sleep dogshit? U can crouch poke someone with a collosal. Burst them to sleep with a crossbow. And then giant hunt them for the win. If land the first one its a guaranteed combo. 1 shots anyone in pvp. Anyone
you can have enough natural sleep resist to not get slept by the crossbow
This video is amazing content ! I love that you try new things. Im tired of seeing the same builds. Im new to the game. Super interested in pvp. Is it possible for you to make a video for new people explaining how ashes of war work as in the difference between standard form and the other option. With a little in depth on what scales with what.
to help keep things organized i have a pareton since i get so many requests for stuff like that www.patreon.com/SyrobeYT
i also have a discord server discord.gg/SyrobeNA
I hear Move Me from Ridge Racer 4 in the bg. Respect.
I have never seen a better video in my life
dont follow Meta Slave, follow your weeb instinct :D
You should literally become the Uni prof of Elden Ring because this shit is wicked sick!
The idea of this build is honestly amazing ! The only problem i could think of against it is the existence of law of regression. Because than your build is bricked at that point but the upside is idiots dont use it lol
Tbf they aren't gonna get law of regression off if you are in their face putting pressure on them
Step aside Malenia, there's a new God of Rot. Praise be, Syrobe!
Was just gathering stuff for my next playthrough which I wanted to run poison. I never thought about the poison pots! That eliminated a huge weakness my build had. Fat fucking like left!
Everything’s good except for that it should be SL150
Done with every bit of PvE content in the game, well now I can go have fun in PvP with that.
THANK YOU ❤
The PVP is hysterical
YEP poison in DS2 is way too good also when I was farming that staff it took me 2 hours with 200+ discovery
unlucky HAHA
hahahaha I just used part of this build to get my whips to hit 1130 Ar at level 90. So disgusting
hell yeah bro thats all that matters just sharing my findings with everyone!
Do you know if having certain Talismans and or certain ashes of war in your inventory increases what level you invade?
unlikely, I'm pretty sure that it only uses your level and the highest weapon upgrade achieved with that character like the old games. It would be complicated to make a power scale using itens owned as a parameter.
Can you make a video on the best build for the sacred relic sword
btw i dont think the rotten crystal spear is that rare, i also got like 2 of these and i never actively farmed for them, the droprate seems to be super high which makes sense since these crytal enemies are super hard to kill for regular enemies.
Btw this build is super fun, haven’t finished the build yet but this sweeps through most pve enemies even without using rot grease
im curious if its worth putting into faith to use rot incantations
I disagree about 1 thing. The build up of poison status is easy dual curved swords out paced blood flame blade and blood infusion. The trick is to land a jumping attack because it’s a multi hit which builds status fast. Whether you like jumping attacks is another thing.
the “trick” to land an attack takes infinitely longer than just throwing 2 pots whenever you want damage lol
Dark Souls 2 poison and toxic statuses were ruthless. Especially if you apply both.
yea when i replayed it i realized poison was fucken JUICED
now, all this is nice
All this is incredibly useful and fun BUT
I still prefer my absolute GOBLIN build of dual Antspurs, one with bleed/ Seppukku buff, the other infused poison/ Chilling Mist buff.
The sheer panic some people have when they see all four status bars just appear after one power stance poke is glorious.
King, ya dropped your crown. Need me to fetch it?
Alt+F4 ftw. I'm in tears watching that. 😂🤣
Lessssss GOOOO
Emphrean child "Who saved our realm, momma?"
Inner Goddess "Idk, some lunatic who kept throwing wads of spores in luckily the right peoples' faces?"
Ngl, almost entirely invalidated the video seeing BHS
Wait this ain’t the Erdtree gummi ship build tutorial…
This strategy is dope! I don't play pvp since I haven't the ps plus but I would love to try it. Not so much resource waste on top of that damage!
I use antspur with seppuku tuned to poison. I can apply all 3 status effects at once, using both the rot and blood talismans. Once I set dots, I swap to Mohgs spear. With 55 arcane, I typically apply poison on the 2nd hit, rot on the 4th.
that wouldnt be a poison build it would be a bleed build then!
I liked the use of the pots, but I probably won't put Rot on Spears lol.
This was good help to improve my Poison build though, so thank you for that.
Love seeing a youtubers grow to be better but I think the sound effects are little to much imo but the rest of the video is fantastic its crazy for you to be juggling school work and this quality of videos got my sub
Mac and cheese and elden ring....what's betta than this?
Good stuff. I came here looking for how rot/bleed/poison etc build up before it activates the de buff and how each tick calculates. Found my new build instead
I just ran across your channel man and you have some great info!
The Vsauce music had me dead ☠️ good vid bro 😎
Cool glad to see I've been doing this intelligently I've been using fetid pots to gruntee poison on self and poison on them if lucky and then I just use my favorite weapons normally with the extra damage
I don't care how much damage the mushroom crown gives me I'm not wearing it, fashion is what makes my damage go up
Enlightenment
Based 💯 I’ll stick with the talisman
Love the kingdom hearts sound effects lol
PSN was OP in DS2, succ everywhere else
Bro really said “dicklow” drop rate😂
