- Alex Murdaugh was caught telling numerous lies to police during interviews following the murders of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, in June 2021. “Guilty conscience,” prosecutor Creighton Waters announced before summing up all the lies the disgraced lawyer told investigators, many of which Murdaugh admitted to while on the stand.

Wonderful closing Mr Waters, you didn't disappoint! May justice be served.
Outstanding closing statement on Mr. Waters!!!!👍
He said on the stand "I'm sorry for everything I've done." during his testimony. I took it as EVERYTHING he done.
Body language speaks volumes. See how he shakes his head yes, when answering questions
I started to wonder if he had a form of Parkinson’s disease he shakes his head so much! His facial expressions give him away!
Thought it was self soothing or something.
@@nolagirl2458 no normal to me hes act like this from day one...all defendant supposed to quietly or just crying emotional that AM is not! overwhelming on his minds when see every evidence
Prosecutor didn't prove it wasn't drug cartel collecting ? I am surprised AM didn't use it! Though AM didn't seem horrified .
Interesting who done it?
Truly!
Mr. Waters, you are a Genius.
The time-line and closing argument is brilliant.
Bravo Sir.
kind a chilling that Paul's video was his downfall and revealed his lie. Poetic justice.
He solved his own murder
It was like he identified the killer from beyond the grave. Nice work, Paul RIP
Guilty 💯
Lock him up and throw away the key
He doesn’t have a conscience! At all!
AM is a me, me, me type of person.
Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Guilty? Yes. Beyond a reasonable doubt? No, I don't think so.
@@xjww8623 well you have doubts and thats perfectly reasonable😆
Alex used that water hose and washed hisself down that’s why all the water was there 🔥🔥🔥
He looks so guilty!
Because HE IS GUILTY!
Fifty years ago, this would've been pinned on some poor sap, and that would be the end of it. God bless this prosecutor.
He sits there and looks like he knows he owns the jury
Without a shadow of a doubt…. GUILTY OF ALL CHARGERS
How ironic that his own dead son's video is gonna bring him down
Can't even keep from smirking
I thought the same, that smirk was so odd and out of place.
I'm not sure, but it kind of looked very much like a the expression called duping delight!
Disgustingly guilty. I dont understand the doubters. Just because AM is good at cover-up, doesnt mean he should be enabled to get off for murder.
He’s not even good at covering up! If the jury can’t see through this, they don’t want to. IMO
Exactly
HE DIDNT DO IT
Bee Dot is Buster!
Narcissist! We need a solution for these people there’s tons of them out there now!
What a very sick man. 😮omg if he didn’t do it he would be beside himself upset like any normal person.
It is interesting that he talked about his marriage in the past tense in the police car. When someone dies like that you usually have trouble speaking about them as gone.
I believe this was a complicated closing argument but well done and convincing. It certainly tied up the states case with a bow on top.
Beyond a reasonable doubt.
What because you say beyond all reasonable doubt 🤔 miss you don't make that decision the jury do yes I think he's guilty but I still think there is a bit of reasonable doubt there
@@traceydanielle8463 wow. I’m hurt. 🙄
Yet Maggie’s wedding band was in her car. Hummm maybe she was telling us something without words.
That financial timeline is everything!!
Additionally, if you were INNOCENT, you would wear the clothes from that first SnapChat video to court every day!
Guilty!
EXCELLENT! That the clothing at the very LEAST would have been produced for court!
why would he wear that same clothes everyday, please explain
Thank goodness for Paul and his videos, pointing at his murderer!
The defences theory at the feed room is beyond ridiculous.
His goose is cooked!!!
Mr.Waters made it very simple to understand with no doubt what happened... Prayers for Justice 🙏
If you watch closely, AM actually, subtly, NODS his head when his crimes are named--and then he tries to cover it over with conscious facial/postural changes.
Lots of incriminating micro-expressions - including sneers and contempt
@@jaynebradley5743 Not to mention open hostility during testimony--NOT at all the look or behaviors of a grief-stricken survivor of a murderous attack on his family!
It's as if both Paul and Maggie were aware that they will be killed that night. Maggie told her sister about Alex wanting her to visit Moselle that night. Her sister has been Maggie's voice in this trial by sharing that info with the Jury and the court. Same as Paul, he took that video for his friend. In the end, when his father silenced him forever, that video spoke on his behalf.
Well done to the prosecuting team!! The defendant is guilty as charged.
Confess Alex Confess
I would like everyone who still thinks this man is innocent to step up to the podium and pose for the worlds largest suckers.
EXACTLY 💯
Free Alex Murderaugh. Lol 🤣
Free Alex!!!
He looks guilty and acts guilty to me.
Yeah, there comes a point where you just have to admit to yourself you’re one of the many many many people out there who’s been duped by Alex Murdaugh.
The normal response seeing bodies lying there would've been to check the bodies, yes, but then recognize right away that you to might be in danger out there in the open on a 2000 acres property, and jump back into the vehicle and bolt to the house or off the property while calling 9111. But Alex just stood there chatting in the open loudly to 911, and then decide to go get a rifle and come back into the open again. It makes no sense but that he was the killer and knew he was in no danger.
Yeah, way too comfortable for being someone who just found found their wife and son shot to death in the dark on a large open property like that. You’d think he’d be like “hey officer, considering that my wife and son have JUST been shot by someone- maybe we shouldn’t just be standing here in the open?
Yes so true, anyone would be scared finding and seeing what happened to them...running for safety would be you first instincts on a dark open property like that...
The fact that Buster is on his side makes me wonder if he knew he was gonna kill Maggie and Paul.
He’s in denial. He doesn’t want to admit his dad is a psychopathic murderer.
Alex looks like he could kill Creighton right now.
Body language experts will have a field day with this one ...
Dude was nodding yes as he state he didn’t hurt or kill mags and paw paw
Already have.
Noticed at very start of this video Alex started biting his lower lip.
The Behavior Panel did a very good video on him yesterday.
Lol. He sure sounds guilty but Body Language Experts are pure psuedo science bull crap.
He is so guilty- no doubt whatsoever
Guilty
waters is great.
He called Maggie to come visit his mom with him, Maggie’s sister testified this. Maggie was down at the beach house. So why didn’t he get Maggie from the backyard to come along with him to visit his mom?
Cuz he killed her and their son before he left to go lol
@@alanwitonsky Yeah, doing the deed was hard enough- he wasn’t trying to go all “Weekend At Bernies” with it too!
Exactly. This is the point that closed the case for me.
He didn’t k ow Maggie told her sister.
Yes. She even said he was up to something.
Drug Dealing could easily be in the mix…to youth at tailgate parties …they had a plane and landing strip…boat…Authorities treating them special.
There's history someone did a video on it.
They might be trafficking. From the islands... look it up.
Lol these people are not selling drugs, they wouldn't risk the seizure of money if they were caught doing it, it's just spoiled rich entitled snobs, drug dealing would be beneath them.
In the documentary, I BELIEVE a friend of Paul’s said that’s exactly what that landing strip was used for. Drugs and strippers.
Look at his evil looks at Creighton
The murders occurred the day he was fired for embezzlement. Yet when he left the offices he went home and messed around with Paul like nothing was wrong. He lost it from sheer fright.
I was becoming doubtful of C Waters ability- he did a great job in his summation
Body language; arms crossed, legs crossed, arms & legs wrapped around the Hidden Truth.
To be leading the conversation like that in the car so composed due to nervous system still spiked from killing?
Alex is messed up in the head, it’s crazy he still believes in himself. Numb Dead
Yes !!! The State came through today. It was a little long but he hit a home run
Prosecutors did a beautiful job...especially when the defendant is a lawyer.
Confess Alex just CONFESS!!! You’re FRIED!!!!
He should just CONFESS
He may take a plea deal if he thinks he will be found guilty.
Finally They Bring Up The Shirt ! About time , we’ve been waiting weeks for the changing clothes to be brought up but they still missed the chance to ask him on the stand …”Alex WHAT Happened To The Shirt You Had On?” America at this point wants to know how a shirt just vanished .
My guess is brother took care of them when he was the only one around. He went to mom’s with AM and the gang and probably picked them up then where AM had dropped them off right after the murder. Just a guess but, that bunch seem to have no problem lying for one another.
that was the clothes he had on when executed his wife and son possibly wore a raincoat to cover himself from blood matter, then hid it and the guns somewhere
He hid the guns in the clothes in his attic, or underneath the floor. They are either still there, or he has moved them and destroyed them.
i don't think you speak for america tho
@@shelleyplemons1362 Well yeah, You gave every possibility there lol. "They are either still at the house, moved them or destroyed them"
Nobody was in the house, when I left.that ladies and gentlemen was because he just killed his wife and child.EVIL.
This guy obviously is guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not only that he is also so used to getting his way and pushing his weight around. Acting like he is better than everyone else. May God have mercy on his soul and Maggie and Paul’s too.
So guilty😂
Who visits their mom at that hour?!
Someone that needs an alibi terribly soon. Am
The guilty.
Only Alex the murderer who needed an alibi.
He did all this to preserve his family's legacy? Or rather the illusion of it. Maggie and Paul were seen as expendables?
Maggie was seeking a divorce, she and Paul found out about his drug use. He needed her assets and Paul was going to cost him too much. Solution, murder them both. Guilty.
Were his pills in Paul’s pocket? Is that why he rolled Paul over and the phone fell out ( with the pills?)
Ohhhh you are so right! That's why!
I think he wanted to see if Paul had recently contacted anyone that might know Alec was there. But he abandoned the idea when he knew he had to leave the house quickly and didn't have time to figure it out.
GUILTY AF!!
AM looks like he's going to have a stroke holding in how he really wants to respond...
He has aged so much since this started.
he also lost weight, his cheeks were chubby before he was locked up
Yes, but also remember it’s almost 2 years later
It's called the incarceration diet. It's the only diet guaranteed to get u to lose those extra pounds.
There's also the incarceration rehab. It's amazing how even the worst drug addicts & alcoholics kick their addiction once they enter incarceration rehab. It's a miracle!🙂
He cleaned all his glasses in his pockets while being interviewed in the car with the cops..probably to get rid of blood spatter. Wonder if they tested his glasses for blood in the cracks.
Waters was great!!!!!!
But longer then a preacher on 1st Sunday 😂😂
Agreed, he was surprisingly good today. And AM sitting there smirking as Mr Waters said Maggie was running to her baby. That sentence hit me like a ton of bricks. But not for Alex. He’s unbothered.
I appreciate Law & Crime sharing these trials but, the “ guests,” which are usually defense attorneys are so biased against the prosecution that it’s hard to watch. It would be great to try and have a balance guest panel.
Yes!
That’s smirk on his face…. disgusting Hope he proofs guilty!!!
He had already killed them, and cleaned up in the time he says he was napping 😴 😒 🙄 big lie....
Yep he went straight from kennels after washing up to the moms house. He didn’t go back to his house at all.
He lied over and over and over about NOT being at the kennels minutes before he murdered his wife and son. Guilty.
This is the lie that got him convicted.
Those questioning about Buster and whether he believes in his dads innocence. Buster could be experiencing denial. What kid wants to believe that their dad is so evil. Reminds me of a case in Wellesley MA where a doctor and his wife went out walking along a path and she ends up dead. His kids stood by him throughout the trial. He was convicted and from what I understand now is that the kids now realize their dad killed their mom. It was years later that they finally acknowledged their dads guilt. Look it up ~ Dirk Greineder was his name.
The Chad Daybell kids
I did read about the aforementioned case, however I think Buster has his feet more into the mud than he projects. His emotionless, stoic face tells it all, throughout the trial. He very well knows his father’s involvement and also the family has a history of washing their hands in dirty deeds. It is a gut feeling that he is somehow involved too.
Notice Alex isn't nodding his head any but has biting his cheeks and arrogant tilt to lips as he thinks he is getting away with these murders cause he is smarter than anyone in court room.
he's dumber lot of people in the courtroom, but if he committed this type of crime early 2000s or earlier he wouldve got away with it
Guilty af
WHERES THE MONEY? I don’t believe the addiction story.
I'm sure he had an offshore account.
not just the addiction, he was stealing money because of his greed and ego
Nobody has answered the question about where all the money went? Can’t they trace it. Very weird. It was not spent on opioids.
@AceFromSpace the more I watch and find out about this guy... he might have been getting extorted. Only other thing I can think of besides gambling.
@@lukemccann4061 That would make more sense. But if he was being extorted or if he did have large gambling debts, I think the defense team might have argued that there were bad people out there (suspects) that were looking to do harm to Alex and his family because he stopped paying. I would love to know if he was withdrawing large amounts of cash, writing big checks, or was transferring funds to other accounts. Neither side wanted to address it in trial.
creighton waters and his team did a phenomenal job, if the juror still thinks he's innocent then im convinced those jurors are special ed individuals
"I ACTUALLY fell asleep on the couch. "
I'm ACTUALLY lying to you.
Guilty Guilty
Bravo Mr Waters. Integrity, sensitivity and logic.
Guilty!!
Unwittingly Paul left a big clue with his iPhone the one they always called the little Detective well he even got him from Beyond the Grave.
Why would he need to look at Paul's phone
To see if there was a video of him on it. Very simple.
He had Maggie’s phone code but not Pauls. I think in a panic he was going to use Pauls finger to open his phone but then worried it would skew the timeline he had created.
I could be wrong but that’s what I think could have happened.
To see if he had any sexy girls' photos
@@Kiki-Kauai Yep, he wanted to use paw paws dead finger to possibly send a phony text
I'm sure he repeated something when he got Paul's phone off his body. Bet he didn't even touch them he said he tried to turn Paul over. Why would he try to turn him over when his whole head consists of a face only. No skull and no brain. He only went to Paul to get his phone. Only!
Not repeated removed information from it. Like maybe the message asking paul to come to mosell that night.
Chris Watts vibe there
"I'm a pathological liar who has lied his entire life, to the tune of millions of dollars. but now you gotta believe me"
basically this dudes defense
Money is the Root of All Evil
Thanks GOD bless.
And greed.
The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
@@sarashepard7504 the love of money is the root of all evil I agree, but wasn't he trying to finance his opioid addiction with that money.
So it wasn't the love of money, but rather addiction that was the root of it all?
Jail time for the lier
how could anyone who has in common sense thinks he's innocent. Must have been standing behind the door when brains were passed out.
Plenty of reasonable doubt. You don’t know for a fact. That’s how the court works. I know plenty of liars doesn’t mean they murder people😊
Release him! Go on, you know you wanna. Give in to the dark side.
@@jonathanshivel1302 yes but the Bible states that the love of money is the root of all evil....
@@jonathanshivel1302 it’s obviously not just the lying that makes him a murderer, it’s the evidence against him. He was there, he had the means and the opportunity. And then lied about being there. He knew the time he should lie about not being there. It’s no longer reasonable to think someone else did it. IMO.
🚪🧠😆
No tears, Ro Ro, Pau Pau… in the clips
Very adamant about the phone
He will be found guilty
how many of the jury are already in his pockets
I guess we will see when the verdict comes in
Isn't that sad and being able to control people with his pretending makes him feel so powerful. And they are thinking they are being a good friend to him and he is thinking "sucker".
Or afraid of him and authorities?
Or owes him a debt either for getting them off on something or drugs debt.
But in these old southern towns, it’s most likely someone on that jury has been paid off. It would be great if they took the money and still voted guilty.
😥😥😥😥😥😥Sad if they are, he’s got no way of paying them.
thanks Mr. Waters. great closing.
If he gets off I fear for those people who testified against him👿
Most people would have to be sedated, this guy is like talking over a beer....
Narcissist/sociopath I see it! I’m sorry I know one when I hear it!
Alex the man with many faces.
Doing the Head nod when he said he payed down in the house
All I see is a ginger on ginger murder. Alex is guilty AF. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind. And is this interview with the police right after he found the bodies? Because there is absolutely no way I would be able to sit there if my spouse and child were dead in that manner and I came upon their bodies. I would be inconsolable. I would be hysterical. I would not be able to give an interview nor sit there composed at all. I would also be covered in their blood because my instinct would be to hold my child. I would be holding my child as the police arrived. I would be inconsolable If I wasn't the one who did it.
1:20 Watch alex’s body language he shakes his head and agrees lol
How closely did he watch him.
Three shirts in one day you must put him away......
Closing over for prosecutors
AM is really not looking happy about this guilt reveal.
I would like to know if the officer who was in charge of AM on June 7 was wearing a body cam.
Maybe the even murdered the housekeeper together! Wonderful relationship!
I got fired after my partners found out I stole lots of client money. He couldn’t face family knowing he stole all that money & still on drugs. Boat wreck was handy to provide alternative story.
also maggie divorce would cost him and her refusal to sell the property
Someone told this morning that his house sold and closes tomorrow for 4 million dollars that they saw it on the news. Anyone else hear that?
I heard it was under contract for 3.4million.
I believe I heard it sold for 3.9 million. But it is under contract.
Who gets that money?
Hopefully directly to the people he stole it from.
Wow who would want that horror house?
