When they leave their husbands or baby daddies, they don't think about all of the things that those men have done for them, such as giving them the babies that they think they own in the first place.

Meanwhile I am looking after a disabled sibling after our father renegged on bringing them into his home at the last minute after insisting for months that I "couldn't handle it". He went so far as to teansfer her from the hospital where she was initially treated to a place close to him, but he NEVER visted her while she was in that rehab center. I went there to help her transition to his home and the day of discharge her refused to come pick her up. Meanwhile, I needed to uproot my life for 3 months and split my time between the city where we lived before she became ill and the place he decided she should be be (where she has no friends or support system) to care for her while she was finishing her outpaitient therapy. After that, he started spreading rumors in the family that I was financially exploiting her. This man has ROUTINELY taken out bills using my info, sent his creditors to me, etc. If anyone is being financially exploited, it's me. Eanwhile he is broke and recently evicted. I am grateful The Most High gave me the means to take my sister in as she'd probably be a ward of the state now if she had moved in with him. PATHETIC.
My mom did this to me. She put two credit cards in my name when I turned 18. Both cards were in default. I didn’t find out about the cards until I saw the statements. I had to threaten my mother for her to pay them and she tried to play the victim. I wasn’t having it. I lost so much respect for her.
And on top of that, I went to my grandmother (her mother) and told her about the situation and my grandmother was like okay so…until she found out that my mother defaulted on the cards.
Whether my mother defaulted or not, it’s the principle. You should not take out debt in your child’s name. Fix your life as a parent!

What's truly crazy is when they tell you as a child all of the stuff they went through. Same shit happened to me. As soon as I turned 18 utilities in my name, signed me up for a credit card, had me get loans, put banking accounts in my name. The shit is fucked up for real because they then act like they forgot. Like, don't tell me you're going to help me build my credit, but screw me over because the more they do this, you get to a point where you can't leave.

Put a freeze on your children's credit as soon as they are born. It's free and doesn't take too long. Don't put your children behind the curve.

This is extremely real amongst black people especially if you lived in the hood. I know at least three women included my own mother, who use all her children's lights in their name and when they got older and got their own spot they had a light bill over $1,000.
I knew several mommas and daughters that the momma was their biggest hater. One of my exes momma just dogged my ex out so bad. It was bad.

They never say "I chose to be a single mother." I told my mother at a young age that she chose her situation. "You filed for divorce, woman... nobody left you or abandoned you... you chose this responsibility." I have never empathized nor sympathized with single mothers.

My father pulled this crap with me. He defaulted on his student loans which messed up his credit so he stole my identity to get himself straight. Fortunately for me I got 85% of my schooling paid for with grants and scholarships. I didn’t find out about his treachery until I applied for a small loan to buy a computer and was denied because I supposedly defaulted on my student loans. I was like I don’t have any student loans and then it clicked. I made sure to correct this error and watched my credit like a hawk after that.

To be honest my mom started to do this with me. She didn't use me for credit but she opened credit up in my name for me. I refuse to do that to my child ever. These type of women feel like they are entitled to take her daughters life...and in turn ruin their future because they ruined their own life already. Her name and credit is shot so she takes her daughters. And that's just one example. She probably tries to ruin every advance her daughter tries to make.

Whether a skit or not it's stop depicting real life for a lot of us. I've had aunties and cousins do their kids dirty on the credit side of the game. One of my cousins right now is 22 and currently fighting to get 2 cars and a Verizon bill taking off of her credit.

You are the mother! You are in the position of authority, so you don't have to play dumb and cower because your guilt is undeniable. OWN IT, SAY I AM SORRY AND ACT LIKE THE HEAD OF A HOUSEHOLD. Children play in the mud and "pretend" they don't know how their clothes got dirty, then fake tears to avoid punishment. You can bet that someone who will deal dirty with their own child and cop a fake outrage act with a highly intelligent ADULT child, was real trouble with the other parent, and that is likely 80% of the reason why they split. It's these types of single parents who absolutely trash the other parent to cover their own grimy behavior.
Thank heaven that eventually the kids wise up and gain a new perspective on what the absent parent had to deal with, and they can begin to for a new bond.

This is definitely not a skit. But wow. Damaging her daughter's credit not once but twice, so when this young lady tries to position herself for a home etc, her mother will tell her she gotta figure it out like she did when she was her age. Mom lowered her own child's credit score and she's going to be in a hole for a very long time. Whenever she moves out, she's going to be couch hopping for a while.
