Winaero tweaker can do available registry tweaks with a user-friendly interface without going to the registry editor. Explorer patcher can do neat stuff as well.
Good video Brian I do like registry hacks as you have shown me plenty in the past and I do like the Bing one the others I don't use the photo stuff for example and my updates are already set at Download and Install so I am fine with that. Anyway mate keep them coming eh!!
Good video. One constructive comment. The Windows text and/or font in the various panels are difficult to follow as they are rather small. Can you make them a little larger so we can see exactly what is on the screen and improve the viewing experience.
Added the reg values successfully, but then the first pic I chose to open, opened in Paint. ?? The Open With option still does not indicate Photo Viewer as an option. Any suggestions to fix this please? Thx. (Win11)
The Windows photo viewer doesn't work on my win 11? The code says its been added but it doesn't show when open with, only photo in the list not windows photo? I had to use a different code to get it to work. I also can't get the windows update to work? I have double checked the entries and they are all correct. The keys, WindowsUpdate and AU where already in the registry, I just had to add the new key and 32bit Dword modified to 1. I'm on Win 11 home V 23H2 updated on the 25/01/2024 with (KB5034204). Yes, did restart after the mod.
I tried the last one but it still automatically downloaded and installed a Defender update. Should it do that, and should I do this registry edit with administrator privileges?
It will always do defender updates no matter what. Its kinda necessary if you use it. But he did make a video a little bit ago about how to disable windows defender completely which will stop defender updates too. Not recommended if you use it though.

was going to mention that myself, but i have to say that i didn't know you could do that via regedit.
Winaero tweaker just corrupts the windows update services and than I cannot update drivers and couldn't run Microsoft store

BTW Windows 10 Pro OEM keys also work with Windows 11. I saved money by buying Windows 10 Pro keys and using them when installing Windows 11.
