Everything. Is better. YUCATAN is a model of how the rest of Mexico should be governed. Nice compassionate people make for a wonderful place to live! Viva!!!
It's about the same as Houston during the summer. I have Houston and Merida (I'm a resident) on my weather app, and compare them all the time. From about November until Aoril though, the weather is beautiful.
Florence, SC is every bit as hot and humid as Merida...and the cost of living in SC has astronomically increased in the last two years. Praying to make the move🙏
My wife and I live there for 10 years. The summers are very hot. You can go weeks on end over 105 Fahrenheit. Very high humidity as well. Evenings are very nice as are the fall and winter.
Great interview! Nicholas is wonderful. We started working with him over a year ago, when we were first dipping our toes into Mérida, and we are now close to purchasing our new home there. He is very knowledgeable and friendly, and has a long list of happy clients.
What makes it so special I think are the amazing people... and all the events that Merida offers - concerts, light shows, art installations, performances. I'm constantly amazed by the things to do, see, and experience. I love the family-oriented culture, the neighborhood green spaces, the variety of shopping and services, and the astounding level of talent in the local artisans here.
Thanks, I love your videos. You find the best people to interview about locations and feel we get real answers. Love your videos of Puerto Vallarta as well. Nice to compare Merida to PV
Awesome video. Planning on visiting Merida in May/June and checking out options for retirement. This gave me alot of information. I think the biggest consideration is the Heat in mid summer and whether one can stand it.
What is Merida like for people that are in wheelchairs? Are most places, stores, restaurants, shops accessible? What about wheelchair accessible transportation?
Issue #1. Merida and others mexican cities do not have trees on streets, Why? Trees are beatiful and very needed to purify the air we breath. Issue #2. The city landscapping is horrible!! Millons of wires flying from post to post on every city. Broken sidewalks and streets is the common problem. Nobody cares Issue #3. All new construction is made of boring Arquitecture. Houses are designed with basic forms , all concrete cubic, produced like soap bars, see the new developments. Issue #4. Houses are overpriced comparing with the same area in US!! Mexican builders are looking to mass build small houses on small lots to get more Profit!!
Mérida is the capital of the State of Yucatán. The oldest city in the Americas is Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. San Juan, Puerto Rico is the oldest city under gringo sovereignty. Both are "older" than Mérida, not counting the Mayan civilization.

I want to move to Merida from Sacramento Ca
I’m looking for any info.
Thank you so much for video!
Can I buy small condo there and how much it’s going to cost ? Thank you

@tlit3284 Yes you can most sales are all cash.
I've heard that life in Merída's like the good old times of living in the U.S. back in the late 80's, and 1990's.
🥰 I loved life back then in the U.S.
70's and 80's. My wife is a 5th generation Yucateca. We love Yucatan. Hot as hades and huge mosquitoes.
@@happyinparadise7812 Oh shit..I'm prone to mosquito bites/stings!
Better! Not U.S.
@@pinetworkminer8377 Take black garlic capsules. Mosquitoes hate garlic smell..
❤❤❤
I definitely need to check out this city now! I miss the good old days but they will never be coming back in the United States.
Currently living in Merida centro. Love the vibe and all the parks but heat and humidity are definitely intense.
Most places have an intense season... so people can take trips to Mexico City during the summer :)
Golf of Mexico is really hot and humid. I used to live in Boca del Rio, Veracruz (now I live in Connecticut) same weather like Merida.
I heard from a local from cdmx that the heat and humidity in Merida is brutal
yes the summers can be very hot...but no hotter than many other parts of Mexico and southern US... really depends on your tolerance for heat!

next week We are going to check Merida. For future move.
Great ! Actually I met him by chance in Merida when I was looking for a home last week
This was very good I’m gonna reach out to Nicholas

A heat that's only going to get worse as the years go by...
Sounds like heaven.
Indeed. Merida is charming and has a lot of convenient amenities as well.
What is Merida like for people that are in wheelchairs? Are most places, stores, restaurants, shops accessible? What about wheelchair accessible transportation?
We haven't lived there for several years, but as I recall most places are not wheelchair accessible.
Another "Hoosier" ❤
Merida is toooo hot!! temps between 99 and 105 for 8 months, no thanks, I'll take Queretaro, nice even temps most of the year.
It's nice to see all these new immigrants in the Yucatan Peninsula!
How much is it to rent a home in Merida?
What airport do you fly into?
Ummmm thats Campeche, in the beginning…not Merida

Hablas de retirarse en merida y pones la calle 59 de campeche, campeche, no engañes a tus seguidores.
I just noticed that myself! Why use Campeche for the thumbnail?

How safe is Santo Domingo?
Mexico is too expense for buy a house , Great video
Are these people INSURED or have to pay for some insurance to get these affordable healthcare services?
To hot and nothing to do the food suck 😊
Question ? Why you called yourself EXPATS When moving to Mexico and no immigrants like Americans call people to move to US ?
Most places in mexico are way cheaper 😮
