do you feel the weight of the tent up top? how much does it weigh? I've been looking into putting a roof tent on an imported jdm suzkuki jimny but I'm worried it'll push the center of gravity too high
the 911 has a lower centre of gravity so i dont feel any play with this on top. Ive had a jimny, and i could imagine you feeling every corner with a roof tent on top (alhough i never tried it) maybe ok for straight roads and sensible driving, but as the other commenter said, i wouldnt fancy my chances off roading.
The car normally has a roof loading limit. Which applies to being stationary aswell. My volvos limit is 75kg. Two people on that roof must be way over the weight limit for the roof mounting points?!
Nope, the loading limit in the double digits does not refer to the vehicle being stationary, only in motion. Imagine you would flip your car over in an accident and the pillars would just crumble under its own weight. Probably not a design, which would pass any safety inspections.
Yep correct. The stationary limit is different to the limit in motion. car manufacturers have tested this type of thing and confirmed that it was safe. It is safe from at least the Porsche 996 models onwards, so that includes this 991.
Where are you camping?
Reminds me of leadhills in scotland
Mennock Pass yes
Who on earth buys a sports car and buts a tent on it.
Only a NORTHERNER'.
awesome.

Wouldn't go offroading with it and usually the speed limit with these tents is 110 - 130 km/h anyways.
