@@thalmoragent9344 Wow. The good news is you have hundreds of amazing clips to watch. Make certain you watch all of Rodney’s appearances on Johnny Carson. Those are all-timers!
@@marieaspinall6919 Well he ran five miles everyday like the doctor told him and he was seventy miles from his house 🏡............................................................................................................................................................................................................🚶lol 😆
Poor Rodney can't get respect! Someone misplaced this gem! Well, we're thrilled you found it. Can't get enough of Rodney's jokes! 👍😊😂 Happy Birthday to our belated comedy genius! 💕🎁
Rodney had class. Was able to joke without upsetting anyone and that wasn't an easy thing to do. He was a Master at his craft and there never will be anyone like him🙏
I met Rodney in the early 1980s when I was a makeup artist on a television show being shot at Blue Alley in Memphis, TN. The sound person asked me to get on stage and test the microphones by talking into the mics. I was a Rodney fan and started doing one of his routines with my bets imitation of him. As I stepped off the stage, after getting an all-clear for the sound man, Rodney was sitting at the FIRST TABLE, as i stepped offstage. He said, "Good job, kid!" Then in true to form Rodney fashion followed it up with "Don't quit your day job!" Then another, "No, no, you did a great job." I was so embarrassed, I sat by the sound man the rest of the night. I wasn't embarrassed of my impression but it was embarrassing to imitate someone in front of them, and not KNOWING they were there. LOL I just wish I'd had the courage to talk to him.
There's something timeless about Rodney Dangerfield that endears him to generation after generation. Like a great musician he uses the same riffs but recombines them and keeps it fresh. It's that astounding gigantic personality that is putting this incredible barrage out there, and that might account for the constant appeal. He isn't just a guy with a great shtick. He is a genuinely funny man that happens to have developed the great routine. This is true for most any comedian but Rodney had it to a fantastic degree. He always dressed very conservatively, and you can see the improving cut of his cloth over the decades, and that's about the only change. The best stuff doesn't need to change much, just keep on doing what it does. Like breathing, like finding the right musical instrument, like the best meal at some restaurant, you want it to stay the same. Elvis got fatter but the people just want that person. Same with Rodney. He was a brilliant person, a fantastically human person with enormous heart, who had a very unique shine to him that transcends the fashions of a given time. For someone so funny, this amazing artist compels some serious reflection.
Rodney was simply one of the best. Anybody who disagrees does not understand comedy at all. He was a TRUE pioneer. I also love seeing the influence he had on Joey Diaz, another one of the all time greats! Amazing!
Wizard of Words, Ace of Hearts. My NJ dad and Rodney both woulda turned 100 this year, Rodney just now in Nov + my Pop back in Feb. They were hysterically similar. Dad would be beside himself in a red faced fit whenever someone mentioned the bookend resemblance, eyes bugging, forehead + neck veins bulging, white hankie whipped out to blot the bullets of sweat beading on his head + back of neck. I loved that so much- I'd switch the TV to a Dangerfield appearance or press play on a tape in the VCR as if accidental sometimes when we'd be sitting in front of the Tube together. So funny to watch him writhe and curse as he'd morph right on que before my very eyes into the necktie loosening object of his vehement denial. How I miss him (and Rodney)...
I saw his stand up routine in 1987 at the Circus Maximus Showroom at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Summertime. My girlfriend, 20 and myself, 21 at the time. Her dad came to visit from NJ and he was a great guy. More than took us out, but showed us how to get front row, w/o reservations at any show, good table at just about any restaurant with or w/o res. I didn't end up marrying this girl, but my next relationship I did. We had a son. It boy, I named, if girl, she named. Son, Kevin Phillip W...... Phil was the previous girl's dad's name. To this day, my son is the only one I've told. Until you guys, of course...
I think that may be one of the funniest jokes I've ever heard, "I'm so ugly, my dog closes his eyes before he humps my leg." That and Norm Macdonald saying "Another one of Anna Nicole Smiths husbands has just died, giving credence to her motto "Where there's a will there's a wake."
The man was a master of word play the likes of which we may never see again. So great.
Yes.. Very sad that he battled depression his entire life..
It doesn’t matter how many times he says the same jokes. They’re always funny.
Exactly! He had a terrific delivery!!
The way he tells. He was older here and maybe the jokes didn't come so easy any more😮😢

To be a good comidien is not easy to be a great like Dangerfield is a dream be funny without offending anyone except his wife and doctor.
The 1 and only!!!
There's no such thing as never before seen stand up, unless that whole audience is blind.
What if they all just forgot?
When they say "Never before seen" they mean it hasn't been in mainstream or posted before.
Great routine
