C919: Flying Junk? Even Vietnam Won't Touch It!

  • China's C919 aircraft, heavily promoted by the Chinese government as the first completely "domestic" plane, actually has poor quality and frequent issues. Most of its main parts come from the US, and it hasn't received airworthiness certificates from Europe or the US.
    Recently, Vietnam Airlines faced a shortage of planes due to engine maintenance problems, causing a spike in domestic ticket prices. During a shareholders' meeting, shareholders asked if Vietnam Airlines would consider buying the C919 to address the shortage. According to Vietnam News, CEO Le Hong Ha said they are closely watching the C919's progress in getting global airworthiness certification. Currently, only Chinese authorities have certified it, suggesting Vietnam Airlines is not considering purchasing the C919 yet.

    Damn, are they getting the rejected Boeing parts to build the plane

      Boeing parts are generally fine.
      A door falling off has been turned into a mountain by the media.. the question is, "why?"

    • @fabferrari
      @fabferrari 13 дней назад +1

      @@matthewmosier8439 Well, it's not only a matter of a "door". Please keep in mind that just yesterday: "Boeing has agreed to plead guilty to a felony fraud charge and pay a new fine in connection with two 737 Max 8 crashes that killed 346 people in 2018 and 2019, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a court filing on Sunday night".

    • @matthewmosier8439
      @matthewmosier8439 13 дней назад

      @@fabferrari Yeah, but those crashes likely would not have occured had the pilots been Western trained.
      The dirty truth is that the men were not as experienced and the regretable crashes occured because of that. A similar incident/incidents did not result in a crash due to the response to the problem.
      Also, the issue itself was software, not parts related, I'm pretty sure.

    • @fabferrari
      @fabferrari 13 дней назад

      @@matthewmosier8439 I agree with you that we are facing a typical case of "Swiss cheese model" of accident cause. It's also a matter of fact that from the engineering standpoint the design concept was stretched way too much and it was used an "electronic trick" to overcome the technical issues. The lack of training was also part of the Boeing responsibility. In fact the investigation of the U.S. Department of Justice proved that Boeing advertised the new airplane as not needed to extra training for the pilots.

    • @tierra6391
      @tierra6391 2 дня назад

      @@HungPhamVan-ir6dt another delusional person. Who in their right mind would use anything from Boeing. Boeing is responsible for a number of accidents that cost the lives of hundreds of people and could have been avoided. News flash, China had nothing to do with it. This was all through the incompetency from Boeing. Look for another reason to trash talk the Chinese aircraft. Using Boeing is redundant as Boeing is now a dangerous manufacturing company. Only there for profits.

      And how old are both companies 'Mr arm-chair expert'? Aibus-1970; COMAC-2008 with several EUropean countries involved. with Some of them pioneers of Avaiation (ie over 100yrs experience), Took 4yrs to produce first their Aircraft
      COMAC-2008- China alone , little or no experience, first prototype -2015, maiden flight-2017. With your country and its lapdogs sparing no efforts to sabotage their progress, You being one such example of spreading false rumors and misinformation. Make no mistake! They'll get it eventually. It may be new to you, but you Americans stole all your Rocket and jet engine technology from the Germans after the second world war. They were light years ahead of every body in Rockets and jet engines. only the Brits came a bit close. Though they will have us think otherwise, Their first jet fighter , the Gloucester Meteor could not be trusted to make it over the Channel to France and back until the end of the war!

    If Xi "Winnie Pooh"Jinping goes on a grand tour of Asia and Europe flying only on the C919, i'll consider it fit for passenger transport. And we all know the Atacama desert will flood before Mr Pooh does that.

    Why do I have a lack of confidence in an utterly conventional small airliner that's taken 16 years to develop? And has two groundings on the first plane due to defects.

    COMAC succeeded in creating the C919 by copying Airbus's 30 year old second gen A320 homework and simply changing the name on it.

    Mitsubishi spent billions trying and ultimately failed.
