Today Beth Rigby is making the judges woodland venison, pork belly, truffle with a oak-smoked consommé and a tonka bean panna cotta with dark chocolate & salted caramel foam
I was out the country for the election unfortunately so due to location restrictions, I had to change from the regular BBC coverage to exclusively Sky. Was majorly impressed with the manner they conducted it in. Fascinating to see behind the scenes!
I've used Sky News as my main source of the news for a few years now, but on election night I had the four main broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 & Sky News) running the coverage. Sky News' production value was truly head and shoulders above the rest.
I was out of the country and couldn't access BBC on RUclips. Was able to track down a stream from Sky, ITV and C4. Was switching between them. Sky's was the most professional and speedy in terms of the actual results, C4's was the most fun and ITV's was pretty bog standard not particularly bad or good - but worth watching dependent on what guests they were interviewing. From what I have read elsewhere it seems I did not miss out by not seeing the BBC's coverage.
I love them talking about how terrible it would be if they published the wrong exit poll numbers, how appalling that would be, and how they're never live it down.... and then GB new did just that!
Now imagine how much better then entire coverage and documentary would be without Beth Rigby... she says anything to stir the pot, and will repeat herself time and time again in the hope of forcing a soundbyte into someone's mouth. Shocking journalist...
Really? On a personal level I don't like Lizzy Rigby that much (as her own colleague said of her demeanour in one interview, "contemptuously cold"), but I admire what she does and I think she genuinely does her best for the viewers. She is not easy to warm to, but she knows her job inside out and she is a character. Adam Boulton wasn't particularly pleasant either but again, did a great job. That's what political journalism is like - we need a hardchaw to deal with the politicians who don't like answering questions. Someone who the politicians themselves fear.
@@paulec2634someone being tough and asking difficult questions is fine. It’s when someone reiterates the same thing over and over and over in the sheer hope they’ll say it back and then they have a forced quote to use against them. Or when someone deliberately just says the opposite no matter what it is just to stir the pot and cause controversy. If something is working, Beth will argue it isn’t. If something saves money, she’ll argue it isn’t. Just to stir things and try to be hard and edgy. That’s what I find annoying. And if she things it’s not working, she’ll just six times in a row go “it’s not working is it? But it’s not working is it? It’s not working is it?” hoping they trip up from her repetition. It’s not clever.
Sky News need to do more documentaries and behind the scenes.

Brilliant doc. Kay was the wrong woman to front the election night coverage though. It should have been Sophy
I have so much respect for Beth and Kay. Incredible coverage!
Fascinating stuff, top tv. Only one concern, I was expecting the voiceover chap to describe something on a plate with a lovely rich sauce!
Sean pertwee is such an amazing guy plus he had such a brilliant dad
sky news is always outstanding so great to see behind the scenes, Beth, Kay & Sam are so brilliant at there jobs.

Wonderful
Kudos to everyone on the team.
Team work makes the dream work.
Great Work & Great Team . 👏 Sky News
Enjoyed watching Sky TV election coverage.
Fabulous, Kay and Beth and all the other talented journalists were in their element and shone bright. Thanks for this super documentary.
Won't lie, I can't watch this without immediately checking out Masterchef Professionals because of the narrator.
The brilliant Sean Pertwee doing the voiceover
I thought I recognised the voice he's such an amazing guy

Very interesting
So the people who were shown the exit poll results early had been so on a "need to know" basis... Does this include the cameraman?!!!
I'm guessing one of the 'need to know' people became the cameraman just for that part.
Things can only get better 🌹

God that sycophantic laugh at the shearing the sheep comment

Amazing
I really enjoyed that.

Bloody hell Kay Burley REALLY hides her Wigan accent on telly more than she does here.

Please save bangladeshi students
go to bangladesh
The Bangladeshi comments were misinterpreted and spread like others to create misinformation.
I watched GBNEWS on the General Election night.
And they messed up the exit poll numbers
