This is how you get "revenge", not by seeking bloodshed, but by living the best life you possibly can. And letting your trauma define the rest of your life. Joel wouldnt of wanted Ellie to ruin her life, to become a PTSD riddled mess. He'd want her to be happy, and if she'd stayed on the farm, she would have been. God its so tragic, and well written.
I'm sorry but I would have felt 1000 times better if I killed the murderer of someone I cared deeply for. It would be the only way for me to TRY to move on with life. Not killing would make me be haunted for life - always beating myself up for never pursuing killing the murderer. I knew Joel would have pursued Abby if Abby had killed Ellie. I would want to match and prove his devotion if I was Ellie.
Tommy's so goddamn frustrating. He's the reason I hated this sequence so much. He was literally begging Ellie not to go avenge Joel the first time, when his death mattered the most. But only after shit hits the fan, after he's crippled, he decides to get vengeance. Why? What's his motivation? It wasn't Joel, cuz he was reluctant to go the first time. The issue should've been done and dusted. Then he gives Ellie shit for not going when she now has the MOST reason not to go.
Bro betrayed his wife’s wishes, left on his own, got 3 of his own town’s children basically to follow him recklessly, comes back home with only 2 of them (has to confront jesses parents who are undoubtedly angry and depressed), hets a bullet shot near his brain, loses an eye, is permanently disabled, his wife basically separated from Him due to this event
maybe they had been around since the outbreak, just kinda chilling. since the place is so quiet and isolated, there probably weren't a lot of infected there to bother them. im also pretty sure the area is close to jackson, so maybe there were people coming around and maintaining the place before ellie & dina moved in
I was annoyed seeing her in the ads because I didn't know or care about her and I couldn't believe I would care about any new characters. I was a fool, how did I not know they could get me after I cried over Sarah's death?
Spoilers! It’s tragic that even this idilic life couldn’t heal Ellie’s trauma. And I like that murderous revenge wasn’t the answer either. Seeing humanity in your enemy and being able to forgive may do a lot more than revenge (in certain situations). I really hope Dina will reappear in TLoUS 3 and take Ellie back. They are so cute together with JJ. But I understand why Dina left. There’s only so much you can do to stop your loved one from self-destruction and at some point you must leave to avoid destructing yourself too. ❤
It's so terrible but I can't even blame Ellie for leaving. Remember how Abby's own life and relationships were fucked up by her trauma? She hated the person she became. Ellie had to actually *see* the traumatic events happen as they did -- she'd be stuck there forever with no closure, and as long as she doesn't eat or sleep, she can't really be healthy.
Ellie witnessed so many horrors in her life but nothing compares to Joel's murder aka the only father figure she ever knew...It's very disturbing to see this depth in a game.
I feel that Ellie used Dina to fill a hole in her heart left by Joel, but the memories attacked her so much that she sort of realized this settled down life isn’t going to help her.
Seriously tho, surely watching Joel being brutally murdered was a huge trauma for Ellie, but if u consider all shes been through that alone wouldnt be the only reason for her PTSD. Her thought of dying for the cure being her only way to give meaning to her life also portrait that her problems are were just Abby. Ellie has been through way too much and killing Abby definitely wouldnt fix anything, but to think that she chose that and left Dina to later spare Abby and come back to an empty farm is yet more aggravating. It could take a long time for a p3, if even will there be one, and the fact that this might be how we say goodbye to Ellie it was surely a pitiful way to end. Well, cant say im surprised considering how Joel journey ended. In truth, the whole farm experience, tho wholesome, still felt like some sort of utopia from their harsh reality but still would have left a sweeter impression on Ellies future.
@@leoornstein8739 I was under the impression that at the time they set out from Jackson, she wasn’t aware she was pregnant. That it wasn’t until they were already on their way before she realized she was late and she started having morning sickness. Depending on where in Wyoming Jackson actually is, the trip from there to Seattle, Washington could take awhile. Actually, how did they even know the Wolves were in Seattle? The only clue they had to go on was “Washington Liberation Force”but Washington is a decent sized state.
I hate that Tommy just comes to the farm, basically tells Ellie that if she doesn’t kill Abby then Joel’s death would have meant nothing and completely destroys Ellie’s happiness…like dude…I know he’s your brother but let your niece have her happy ending man!
I never played this game and I loved the first one. Seeing this scenes make my heart break down, funny thing is I'm not even that emotional. They did a great job in some parts of this game.
Damn Ellie's arms aren't tired she's been hauling JJ around all over the farm 😂 this game is so dope. Like you carry a baby while playing. I was just hoping no infected would pop up while she has JJ
I know people like to shit on JJ since he’s “pointless” or whatever, but honestly I think it’s cathartic and wholesome to see Ellie as a mom/step-mom after everything that happened. It would’ve been nice if they ended the game here to show she’s still struggling but healing.
dude them being a little happy family on the farm and the way ellie interacts with JJ makes me sob. i hope theres a new game and ellie sees Dina and JJ again and they get to be a happy family again. seeing Ellie tell jokes to JJ and teaching him guitar would be so cute.

The story is good in my opinion. I understand that some people just don’t like it, but for most people that are hatefully trashing the game, it just wasn’t what they wanted it to be and they can’t accept it.
Matt Wells eh I just don’t like how they executed it. Like she killed a lot of ppl just to get her revenge. But I also get how she forgave Abby since she was doing the same thing. Get what I mean? It kinda contradicts itself. Tho I agree ppl are mostly just hating cause Joel died.
@@Wow30035 She didn't forgive Abby, she'll never forgive Abby. It goes beyond that. Ellie hates Abby with every fiber of her being and can't forgive what she did to Joel. She also couldn't forgive Joel for the longest time for what he did at the end of the first game. But the one person Ellie hates more than anyone else, the one person she cannot forgive more than anyone else, is herself. For a lot of things: Her immunity and the pain and suffering it has caused (Tess, Sam, Henry, Riley, the Fireflies, etc.), the people she slaughtered and tortured (Nora, Mel, and Owen in particular) just to get to Abby and exact revenge, which made her into someone she was not and made her just as bad as Abby was, and most of all, how she treated Joel after she found the truth. This entire time, it wasn't revenge she was seeking, it was forgiveness. Forgiving herself for how coldly she treated him, even if he deserved it, because she *loved* him. Joel was her father. And their relationship was in shambles up until the end where they were finally starting to pick up the pieces. But by then it was too late. She never even got the chance to say "I'm sorry." Or "I love you." Or tell him how much he meant to her. Now she'll never get the chance. Killing Abby wasn't going to change anything. It wasn't going to bring Joel back or cure her PTSD or give her that chance to reconcile that she wasted all those years. All she would have done was take Abby away from Lev, just like how Abby took Joel away from her, continuing the never-ending cycle of revenge and poisonous hatred. Who's to say that if Ellie finished the job and Lev somehow made it out of there, he wouldn't have set out to avenge Abby and kill Ellie? Like... When does it end? It just wasn't worth it anymore. She was done. She realized it. And she just wanted to put Joel's death behind her and move on with the new meaning in her life, the thing that she could "keep fighting for" like Joel said at the end of the first game: Dina and JJ. That's why she let Abby go.
PAOerful One yea true but I mean she could’ve stayed with Dina if she wasn’t going to kill her. But hopefully the 3rd game makes more sense. Like I get she didn’t want to kill her but if she didn’t even wanna go find her in the 1st place they should’ve just made tommy kill her or send someone else.

Think about that last scene... that was basically her Last Actual Talk with Joel...
And she told him that she would like to try to forgive him for what he did.
@@lukekiely2450 and that’s why she spares Abby at the end, to prove that she would have ultimately forgiven Joel
Remember "just because you're home, doesn't mean you're back".
Bro betrayed his wife’s wishes, left on his own, got 3 of his own town’s children basically to follow him recklessly, comes back home with only 2 of them (has to confront jesses parents who are undoubtedly angry and depressed), hets a bullet shot near his brain, loses an eye, is permanently disabled, his wife basically separated from
Him due to this event
Anyone else wonder how on earth did they get a fully stocked farm so fast? All those animals, all that land?! How! lol
maybe they had been around since the outbreak, just kinda chilling. since the place is so quiet and isolated, there probably weren't a lot of infected there to bother them. im also pretty sure the area is close to jackson, so maybe there were people coming around and maintaining the place before ellie & dina moved in
Nah bra some time lapsed over that period. Maybe a Year or 2. Plus they could have gotten the sheep at Jackson and Grew them on this farm
@@laptopgamer9570 Dina was pregnant during the revenge tour. Her child was an infant on the farm. And some friendly advice don’t like ur own comments.

Dina took Ellie back after Santa Barbara. Ellie is wearing Dina's bracelet again at the end of the game.

I WANT THEM BACK TOGETHER 😢

So good that jj got his fathers eyes at least jesse would be remebered
At first when I saw this scene, I thought, “How did they have a baby?” But shortly after thinking it, I remembered how Dina was pregnant beforehand.
Ellie witnessed so many horrors in her life but nothing compares to Joel's murder aka the only father figure she ever knew...It's very disturbing to see this depth in a game.
JJ is adorable
yeah the infected’s dinner Would love to have seen his reaction if the infected got onto the farm would have been funny
I feel that Ellie used Dina to fill a hole in her heart left by Joel, but the memories attacked her so much that she sort of realized this settled down life isn’t going to help her.
Joel was such a great father to Ellie. It breaks my heart to see how she shut him out.
I swear they better find each other in the next game
Same or I'll be mad 😭
6:35 is the best moment of the game.
It’s Dinas AND Ellie’s son not just dina
Absolutely heartbreaking game for Ellie. Desperately need a P3
Look how peaceful and somewhat happy they were….this is sad that she left and lost everything
Did she really have everything? Really?
Dina at first was like : where you go I go , end of story.
Now: I can't do this anymore.
Well... you cant take a baby on a revenge murder mission.... Her priorities changed now that she's a mom.
She went on revenge while she knows that she's pregnant and all. At least she can get the kid back Jackson ,IDK
@@douglasrau5094 They started off at the Seattle QZ because that's where people were likely to be I imagine.
Come for the murder, leave with the feels
One of the best interactive sequences in video game history.
I wonder if JJ was named after Joel and Jessie 🤔
Damn Ellie's arms aren't tired she's been hauling JJ around all over the farm 😂 this game is so dope. Like you carry a baby while playing. I was just hoping no infected would pop up while she has JJ
this all happened cuz tommy came to their house, if he didnt then none of this wouldve happened and ellie and dina could live hapoy together
i completely understand why tommy would be mad but she’s (compared to him) just a kid
note: yes i know she can fuck people up and fight but still .
I know people like to shit on JJ since he’s “pointless” or whatever, but honestly I think it’s cathartic and wholesome to see Ellie as a mom/step-mom after everything that happened. It would’ve been nice if they ended the game here to show she’s still struggling but healing.
He's definitely not pointless in-universe since he's part of the new generation. And I just love their little family, so I'm biased.
I got ptsd of herding sheep on Red Dead 1 during this part 😂
Relatable.
Matt Wells and the fact hunting down Abby is like American venom makes this better lmfao
Such a cute baby 👶🏽
dude them being a little happy family on the farm and the way ellie interacts with JJ makes me sob. i hope theres a new game and ellie sees Dina and JJ again and they get to be a happy family again. seeing Ellie tell jokes to JJ and teaching him guitar would be so cute.
Ellie’s trauma:
The staircase wasn’t that long
Joel was never shouting for help
The door was never locked
Ellie got those jokes from the pun book
I love that she named the sheep 😂 Eugene, todd

Is it my thing or the girl in the picture with Dina actually looks like Shannon Woodward? The actress who voices Dina in the game 😂
OH WOW YEAH
One thing I realized is that music playing in the background (when Ellie and Dina are dancing). Is the same music Joel plays with his guitar
at first i didn't really like Dina, but as the story goes on and they made a family and live in a place where everything is safe and normal. But Ellie leaving to avenge Joel's death?..The only thing I'm expecting in part 3 is for her to go back to Dina :,(

This kinda gives rdr2 vibes at the end because they need to get revenge
the ending of them made me cry so hard. I could never imagine that happening to me and my girlfriend
@LitzyDoe Hey! She ended up leaving because of PTSD from Joel being killed by Abby. She also left because she went to Jackson to find her parents and live with them
The game's story is so bad but I have to admit the PTSD scene is brilliant. TBH this game shows brilliant ideas at times and I wish the whole game lived up to it.
Matt Wells they should’ve done what rdr2 did. Be good or bad.
