    Thanks nice info.
    If I change alias to primary username , What will be changed in One Drive data which is shared across employees , files in the teams ? Will outlook create new profile or user will continue to use that outlook existing profile ? Please reply

      Thank you Ritesh, if you change the primary username, the user will need to create a new Outlook profile.
      Shared files should remain unchanged, however, the user will need to login (OneDrive and MS Teams) with the new primary username. By the way, the propagation of the new username could take several hours across the MS servers.
      Cheers!

      @@itwithcarlosIf the primary username is changed. Will the user still have access to the local computer profile and files contained(Desktop, Picture, etc.)? Thank you for your time.

    Can I still use my original alias to recieve e-mails though? I mean the originally created one will be still in use on many services (including bank accounts, subscriptions etc), yet to sign-in I want to use another alias (set as primary) for safety (to prevent sign in attempts).

      Absolutely, you can continue receiving emails with your previous email address. It became an alias. Thank you!

    Hi Carlos, Is there a way to delete an alias in Microsoft Office 365?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Alex, yes you can. As you can create an alias, you can also delete it in the MS 365 admin center. You will see 3 dots beside every alias, click there and you will see the option to delete it. Thank you.

    What about the display name?

    • @itwithcarlos

      You will need to go to Users > Active Users > select the user and click on "contact information". Then you can edit the Display name. Thanks

      Hi Mitchall, are you getting any error? The process actually takes two main steps. 1. Create the alias for the user and 2. Make the alias the primary email address/username. All this has to be done within the MS 365 admin center.
      Have a nice day!
