Thank you Ritesh, if you change the primary username, the user will need to create a new Outlook profile. Shared files should remain unchanged, however, the user will need to login (OneDrive and MS Teams) with the new primary username. By the way, the propagation of the new username could take several hours across the MS servers. Cheers!

Can I still use my original alias to recieve e-mails though? I mean the originally created one will be still in use on many services (including bank accounts, subscriptions etc), yet to sign-in I want to use another alias (set as primary) for safety (to prevent sign in attempts).
Hi Alex, yes you can. As you can create an alias, you can also delete it in the MS 365 admin center. You will see 3 dots beside every alias, click there and you will see the option to delete it. Thank you.
