- Episode # 6219 IT GIVES A LOVELY LIGHT
Original airdate: 1-28-63
There's trouble in the Massey household when daughter Judy, played by Sandra Descher, has a fight with her boyfriend. Her mother, Christine Massey played by Loretta Young, insists that her own boyfriend, Paul Belzer played by James Philbrook, cancel an important dinner date with his boss in order to console Judy,
The part of Judy is played by Sandra Descher, who was 'discovered' by accident while on vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where coincidentally a film was being shot. The director saw her, and needing a child for the film, approached her parents. Within six months, Sandy appeared in her first movie, It Grows on Trees, which was released in 1952.
Next she appeared in a brief, but key role in the classic science-fiction film, Them! (1954). That year a news item reported that Descher was "the only long-term contract child in Hollywood," having been signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Her last movie, at the age of 12, was the cult favorite Space Children (1958),
In addition to his appearance on this program, Randy Rand (Freddy) is an actor also known for Mark of the Gun (1969).

I CAN SEE WHY THIS SERIES ONLY LASTED ONE SEASON...SOMEHOW SEEING THE GLAMOROUS LORETTA FLIPPING PANCAKES IS A DOWNER...NOT TO MENTION THE SAME OLD SAME OLD PER SHOW...I JUST WATCHED LORETTA IN HER LAST TV MOVIE CALLED "LADY IN A CORNER"...STILL BEAUTIFUL IN 1988 AND SHE SURE COULD ACT...MISS HER...
The opening entrance is even more grand than was previously the case with the earlier show. Such an entrance really became her trademark. She showed both the front and back of the dress at the request of her dress designer who felt her designs were not being fully appreciated with just a frontal view. That is how according to Loretta Young in one of her later interviews this famous entrance came about.
So pleased that her gown was designed by Jean-Louis, whom she later married when they were both quite a bit older.
11:50 What a lovely woman.
A delightful family.❤️❤️
This series is like deeper, more meaningful Brady Bunch. Brady Bunch was all I had at the time.
That Dress.
Come on kid. Stop the hysterics. Go eat some peanut butter; it always works.
Which LY show had her as Cleopatra??
Did Ann Blyth play her on the Twilight Zone?
Probably the other version of her show.
