Loretta Young was an extremely popular Hollywood film star in 1953. She had begun as a child actress in silent movies, appeared in almost 100 films before she was given the best actress Academy Award for her starring role in The Farmer's Daughter in 1948. But television was taking the nation by storm in the 1950s and the popular Hollywood film actress decided to make a risky career move and explore the exciting new entertainment medium that brought 'the movies' right into American living rooms.
On September 20th, 1953, the beautiful "movie star" entered the nations' living rooms for the very first time. On that Sunday night, on the NBC Television Network, at ten PM Eastern, Loretta Young came through her living room door dressed like the star that she was... and made television history. It didn't take long for Miss Young to became known as the "first lady" of television, earning three Emmys - and numerous other awards - in the eight seasons she reigned as queen of the ratings.

Loretta Youngs Children Talk About The Loretta Young Show
Came across the new Loretta Young show video, I remember watching this show in Australia when I was a teenager in the 1960's, I loved this show and watched it weekly. There were a lot of shows that came out from America that were great for the whole family to watch. Ah the good old days.
Please keep this episode on RUclips because I included it in my book with its link. I’ll let you know once my book is done. There are other episodes that I also love but I cannot share them all in my book. More power to your channel.
I've always loved Tommy Kirk. Ever since "The Hardy Boys" on "The Mickey Mouse Club" back in the 50's. Had a bit of a crush on him. I'm 82 now and still think he's darling.
WHAT A Terrific ACTRESS👍👍👍👌✨✨✨ THANK YOU🤗🤗🤗💜❤️
NO!! DO EXPECT MIRACLES👍👍👍; GOD IS OMNIPOTENT ALL CAPABLE & SPECIALIZING IN MIRACLES ✨💜❤️👍. AMEN
I believe Ann Lee has been confused with Anna Lee in the description section.
Profound and beautiful.
“Sooner or later every lie will turn upon the liar.” Quite true!
The twin babies at the end were smiling and happy to be there. Loretta and Mr. Bishop must have treated them kindly and gently. Lovely.
I think the earlier fashions were much more elegant. As skirts got shorter something was lost.
Down to earth, natural, lovely.
Her sister played by Sally Blane, Loretta Young's real life sister.
In every episode cigarettes appear.
Wow! Lighting up a ciggie in the doctor's office. Newly pregnant. Wow.
Hollywood sure doesn't make them like Loretta Young!! What a blessed person from God ! Thanks for sharing these episodes!!
I just love these. Thanks for sharing ❤
Fun to see the changes in hairstyle and skirt length and sets.
Gosh, this is a sweet one. Loretta was just wonderful (but then, when is she not wonderful?).
OTROCI, MARIA, JOSH IN HARLEY ! Z babico, bi, lahko, ohranili stike, če ste jo imeli radi ! Zakaj, je morala najeti detektiva ? NEVERJETNO !
Loretta's only opening gown I didn't like. 😁
Lol. Joyce VanPatten looking like a Hollywood Janis Joplin.
Wow. Very Egyptian looking gown in the intro.
Great example of what's important to men & women & them NOT trying to trample into each other's territories & destroy that balance but what it takes to work it out...hard work & maturity.
Holy Toledo- that gown Loretta wore in the intro was just silly! They're usually gorgeous. In fact Loretta wore the gown the other guest actress was wearing in this episode in her entrance. I remember the sequin flowered top. It's very pretty.
What a bonehead move, using a fake name like that. Live & learn I guess. Apparently the kids never heard the horrors of juvvie before. Not..pot is not the gateway. Crappy environments & the need to escape are though.
This is a perfect example of how the system is certainly rigged to keep kids IN the system. The bigger the government system the worse the accountability & quality of services delivered in it as well, and the more corruption in it. And it's true at 18 they literally dump kids into the streets to fend for themselves. And far too often while IN the system abused/neglected children are returned to the very ones who hurt them ending in their deaths far too often. Add to THAT open borders ADDS to the burden so we cant even attempt to take care of our own. IT'S all designed to fail when big government is involved & there's no accountability & far too many compartmentalized agencies don't know what others are doing.
Gandy..a beatnik type. Very hip at the time.
Boy! That's quite a necklace Loretta is wearing with a simple cocktail dress.
I love the stories but also Loretta's beautiful gowns! ✨
These shows are absolutely encouraging. It is so refreshing to see stories that encourage such good character instead of loose morals!
Loretta Young was a Multi fasceted actress and woman. She could play any characture. She was a lovely Woman Off The screen. My sister shares her birthday. As a kid She was on our regular family t v viewing. 🙏🥰♥️
Gods love
Kitchen looks like father knows best
1:25 It is amazing that her wardrobe does not look outdated. I once read she was concerned the costumes she wore would look outdated in the future.
This is what gods love is all about
The Donna Reed home?
My Gosh, the chemistry between these two!
"I've decided I'm gonna live one day at a time. And leave the future to the Good Lord." - Loretta Young Thank you Loretta :) Still encouraging and blessing others almost 70 years later ;) What a legacy amd egat an amazing woman and actress! 👩🎨🎫🎦🎦🎬
"What kind of woman are you?" the husband asked. Answer.... A Proverbs 31 woman of honor and compassion. Just like Loretta Young. 🧡💕🛐
I keep on expecting Arnold Ziffel to pop in for a guest appearance.
That is one good-looking man!
WOW!! 😲🥳🥳 GOOD LANDS!! It's 2024 and this was extremely scary and chilling! Supremely enjoyed! Loretta Young again was amazing in this! Such depth! And the Bible verse at the end....So true!! "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil".... Thanks for the upload! Adding to my playlist, "1940s, 1950s, and 1960s TV Shows :)" 🎦😀 Rachel in Nashville 😺👩🎨💕🛐😇
For those trying to g to remember the real name of Aunt Bea, it’s Frances Bavier.
I have just recently come across this program and I’ve been watching episode after episode ever since. An excellent program that is so well done and interesting. I certainly agree with the point made in this episode. “We are society” and we certainly are “paying the price” in our day of doing nothing about it!
I never watched her show when it originally aired but my parents thought these “entrances” were ridiculous.
Such an heart touching episode!! Random acts of kindness!!
My mom loved Loreeta Young, and I can see why from this episode!! The values presented here of love, forgiveness, cooperation, and understanding are in short supply today!! Love Loretta !!
Clothes were amazing in all of these shows
This is why women in the 50s drank and took tranquilizers: boredom!
I was just talking to my big sister, (2024) she was telling me this story of the gracious and beautiful Ms. Loretta Young, my sister worked when she was young at the old Austin Municipal Airport restaurant..and one day my mom who also worked there told my sister, "go see if these people want anything" all my sister knew was there was this gorgeous woman and three men sitting in an area away from everyone else..( movie stars and other famous people always stopped off at this restaurant in-between flights) she remembers she had a beautiful turban on, and as she walked up to ask if she needed anything her head was down then she slowly raised her head to softly say.." no thank you" my sister to this day was in awe of her beauty and elegance..when she went back by our mom my mom said, " you know who that was?" sister said..no ..mom said "that was Loretta Young" my sister has never forgotten her brief but lucky chance in meeting with one of Hollywood's most famous artist ever.. rest in peace Ms. Young....and my beloved mama too❤️🙏🙏❤️
