    Greg Hite, played by Mark Roberts, keeps losing jobs because the jobs he takes are just not right for him. His wife Janet, played by Loretta Young, is always prodding Greg to take jobs that will fulfill her dreams... an impressive house, just the right kind of friends, and a certain kind of high standard of living - all of which are too expensive for their means.
    It is only when Janet realizes that she must revise her standards and allow her husband to work at a job he loves that she finally realizes that she has been dreaming 'somebody else's dream."
    Mark Roberts was a film and television supporting actor who appeared in over 100 films between 1938 and 1994, Sometimes credited as Bob Scott, Robert E. Scott, or Robert Scott, he first received a screen test at Columbia Pictures that led to a long-term contract.
    He made his film debut in Brother Rat, a 1938 film starring Ronald Reagan. He appeared with Rita Hayworth in Gilda and later became a familiar face in television series, including The Front Page, The Brothers Brannagan. He made seven guest appearances on Perry Mason and made his last screen appearance in the short-lived 1994 sitcom Monty. Roberts died at the age of 84 in Los Angeles, California on January 5, 2006.
    Amzie Strickland (Gladys) began her career in radio, made some 650 television appearances, had roles in two dozen films, appeared in numerous television movies and also worked in TV commercials. She was married to radio and television actor Frank Behrens from 1946 until his death in 1986. She died of Alzheimer's disease at the age of 87 in 2006.
    Judy Short (Mary) is known for her appearances in Telephone Time (1956), The Joey Bishop Show (1961) and The Loretta Young Show
    Jimmy Baird (Mickey) is known for his appearances in The Twilight Zone (1959), The 20th Century-Fox Hour (1955) and King of the Roaring 20's: The Story of Arnold Rothstein (1961).
    Lewis Martin (R. B. Weldon) made his first Broadway appearance during 1925 in the play Lucky Sam McCarver. His career on Broadway was long and successful, appearing in over 16 plays between 1925 and 1950. Martin also appeared in numerous television series of the 1950s and 1960s, including Judge Libbott in four episodes of Perry Mason and Professor Henderson in three episodes of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. His last role was Commissioner West in two episodes of Tarzan in 1967. He died on February 21, 1969 at age 73 in Los Angeles, California.
    Bing Russell (Jim Murphy) was a popular and prolific television actor and Class A minor league baseball club owner who appeared in several episodes of this series. He was the father of Golden Globe Award-nominated actor Kurt Russell and grandfather of ex-major league baseball player Matt Franco. Russell died from complications of cancer on April 8, 2003, in Thousand Oaks, California.

    I admire the fact that she wasn't afraid to play characters who had negative traits.

      Or she'd start working, too, not because she had to but because she wouldn't be happy without all the trappings of the cushy lifestyle she wanted, and pretty soon the little boy and girl would be latch-key kids because Mom wouldn't be there when they got home from school, and well, it goes even further downhill from there.
