    Christine and her neighbor have a dispute over gossip. It all begins when Christine’s boss, Paul Bezler played by James Philbrook, comes to the Massey home to recuperate from a bout with ulcers. No sooner does the ailing guest arrive than he is met by Chrintine's next door neighbor, Mrs. Teesdale (played by Hope Summers) who is concerned about how the situation looks to the neighborhood.
    Hope Summers was an American character actress known for her work on CBS's The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry RFD, portraying Clara Edwards. A regional actress who often performed in one-woman shows, she was past fifty when she first came to Hollywood to begin her career as a character player. She made her television debut in 1951 on the series Hawkins Falls, the first of many performances to follow.
    She acted until 1978, a year before her death from congestive heart failure in 1979, aged 77, in Woodland Hills, California. She is interred at Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla, Washington in the Masonic Section.
    Fern Barry plays Helen, another of Christine's nosy neighbors. Barry was born on September 24, 1909 in Fairview, Oklahoma, known for her roles in TV series like; The Rifleman (1958), 77 Sunset Strip (1958) and Telephone Time (1956). She was married to Donald E. Hill. She died on September 9, 1981 in Burbank, California

    With all the shacking up together and birthing babies out of wedlock today...Mrs. Teasdale would have had a nervous breakdown 🤯🤯🤯

    Hope Summers is the archetypal nosy neighbor for whom Lamar Alexander pined. Or, to paraphrase a bit from Elmer Gantry: in the darkness, a thousand Methodist worthies murmured, “Avoid the vurrry appearance of ee-vill”.
