    I have been swimming every day for a month. I never want to go another day without it. I feel calm and happy when I swim. My background anxiety is less now. I started exercising daily 4 years ago and I've lost a huge amount of weight (probably around 5 stone. I dont know how I first weighed but I look completely different now). A month ago I started swimming on top of the gym and I loved it so much that I switched gyms and sacrificed netflix and amazon prime so I could afford a gym with a pool because I feel so much better swimming instead of watching tv.

      That's amazing to hear! Swimming daily for a month has brought you a sense of calmness and happiness, while also helping with weight loss and reducing background anxiety. It's inspiring to see how much you value swimming, even sacrificing entertainment subscriptions for a gym with a pool. Keep up the great work and continue enjoying the transformative benefits of swimming! 🏊‍♀️💪

    I self learned front crawl and breaststroke last year to overcome fear of drowning. It’s been a year that I swim 5/6 days a week for an hour. I use snorkel, paddles, and pool buoy, plus different drills. It was very difficult at first. However I liked the challenge and being in water. Now I can swim these two in proper form; working on endurance.
    Swimming helps me to drop 20 pounds (back to size 4). It sculpts my body, especially back and arms. It helps me to sing better. My pool time doesn’t feel like a chore or punishment. I used to road run. Swimming in comparison is more enjoyable. I hope to learn flip kick and dolphin kick this year.

      Congratulations on your impressive progress in swimming! Overcoming your fear of drowning and mastering front crawl and breaststroke within a year is commendable. Your commitment to swimming 5 to 6 days a week for an hour, using different tools and drills, shows your dedication. It's fantastic that swimming has helped you drop 20 pounds, sculpt your body, and even improve your singing abilities. Unlike road running, swimming feels enjoyable to you. Keep up the great work and best of luck as you continue your swimming journey, aiming to learn the flip kick and dolphin kick this year. You're doing amazing! 🏊‍♀️💪

      Great to hear ! greetings from Italy, I'm in the same way of yours although started a couple of months ago. In your experience , which is the best training set to strengthen the body in the first months of training?
      just finished today my first 1k swim (crawl and focus on legs with fins , upper body with and w/o paddles) . I really love swimming too... trying to mix with open air training with suspension training , when the body recovered

      I swam competitively through college then didn’t swim a workout for 20 years. I got back into it about 10 years ago and this is all true about how it makes you feel. There’s no exercise like it and I’ve worked out my whole life.

    Regular swimming sessions can do wonders for one's overall well-being. Not only does swimming provide a full-body workout, but it also helps improve cardiovascular endurance, build strength, and increase flexibility. The buoyancy of the water reduces stress on joints, making it a low-impact exercise suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

    Excellent information. I am not a natural swimmer, though I can do it moderately well. I almost drowned in the ocean at age 10 years. But have fought to control my anxiety while swimming. I have become a scuba diver and love it. At age 69 years I have several impact injuries and am trying to transition to swimming daily at the local health club.
    Question: what do you recommend that I can do to help me in being successful towards accomplishing this goal?

    Does swimming increase human growth hormone to grow taller?

    • @fitifypro
      @fitifypro  Год назад

      While swimming is a beneficial exercise for overall health and fitness, it does not directly increase human growth hormone (HGH) production to promote height growth. The secretion of HGH is primarily influenced by factors such as genetics, age, and specific medical conditions. However, engaging in regular swimming can contribute to a well-rounded fitness routine, which may indirectly support healthy growth and development. Remember that factors like nutrition, sleep, and overall lifestyle also play crucial roles in maximizing growth potential.

    30 min of swimming daily will take another hour of your life to get to the swimming pool and 30 min of preparation and after swimming all together 2 hours daily. The effect is swimming will chip away at your life. No thanks, I don't want to live to swim.

    • @fitifypro
      @fitifypro  Год назад +3

      We understand that swimming requires time and commitment. While it may require additional hours for preparation and travel, many people find the benefits of swimming worth the investment. Swimming offers a unique combination of physical exercise, relaxation, and overall well-being. It's all about finding a balance that works for you and incorporating activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

      No, no, he's right. It's a major undertaking all the way. Not for everyone! I swim summers so am in the middle of it now, but I look forward to stopping in September so I can live instead. Sure, I have superhuman health right now, but what is the cost in time, in ignoring what I might be doing, or in the ennui and difficulty, both, of doing the lap swimming work itself? I've done it lifelong so I know I can handle it (and yes, I even can still say I like it... to a degree), but often I wish I had the temerity to walk away from it for good, now, at 62.

      I mean if you don’t want to swim you don’t have to
      But I got questions
      Where is this pool that takes you I’m guessing 1/2 an hour to get to if you are combining travel time there and back and what are you doing that it take 1/2 an hour to prep to go swimming?
      If you swim everyday the prep time would get cut down considerably. I just started swim lessons (approximately 15 minutes away from where I live) and am trying to practice those techniques at my gym (approximately 10 minutes away) for 1/2 an hour everyday.
      My daily swim items stay in my swim bag and I change into a swim suit before leaving the house so all I have to do once I get to the gym is remove my “daily clothes” rinse off and go into the pool
      Again if you don’t want to swim then cool, this is how I feel about taking my dog on her special super long walks. That probably does take me 1/2 an hour just to gather her items then travel time to get to the trail😂.
