Even then, by the time my switch has seriously distracting scratches on the screen it's 2029 and everyone is using their Switch 2 or whatever instead.

      @thatonek1duno 3 года назад +12

I don’t think that the “modern” design of controllers is BAD or outdated
I just think there’s little to no point of 8BitDo as a company to make controllers that emulate NORMAL pro controllers, especially considering that THEIR design of a “pro-style” controller is what put them on the map as a real competitor FOR regular pro style controllers
People like the SN30 Pro Plus and the 8BitDo Pro 2 because it ISNT in the form factor of a regular pro controller.
People like 8bitDo cuz they have ORIGINAL designs.

I think the tabs on the back of the Hori's are intended to reduce flexion along the connector. Without them the rails would be holding the weight of the switch when at rest, and would have to directly resist any bending forces, which happen more often with a bigger joy-con and are amplified by the distance of the palm grips from the rail.

I think you're confusing HD rumble with just plain old regular rumble.
HD rumble is when games make use of the technology to generate different specific points of rumble on the controller to simulate certain effects. 1,2,3 Switch! was an overpriced game for being a tech demo but it showcased it well. You can simulate objects moving through the joycons for example.
The truth is most Switch games do not use this feature. They use traditional rumble most of the time (outside of 1st party games) which you would find on any standard controller.

    A couple observations:
*the weird nubs on the backs of the Hori controllers? They're feet. They keep the Switch elevated if you set it down on a table so that those rear buttons don't get pressed.
*there is a pretty good reason for the full width controllers like the Dobe. One of the problems a lot of people have had with their Switches is the vent grille on top of the console breaking off. I personally thought it was really strange, and wondered if it was becoming brittle from heat or something. Then when I was playing in handheld mode one day, I realized something: torsion. Seriously, pay attention to the forces you're exerting on your Switch the next time you're playing it handheld. Unless you're a precision machine like Data, you're constantly putting twisting force on everything while you're playing. It's enough to put flexion strain on everything from the shell to the joycon rails. This is why I like to use those full-width grips when in handheld mode. I've been looking at the Dobe specifically because I like the idea of my console being braced in my hands. After this video, I feel confident enough to give it a try.

The main concern for the Joy Cons in my family is that they're super tiny. I'm really the only one in my family that's comfortable with the Joy Cons. The rest of my family however has huge hands, so it's super uncomfortable for them. These large Joy Cons could be a valuable answer to our dilemma.

@@MysteryDreamer I've never wanted the HORI split pads cause they're overpriced for their lack of gyro, wireless functionality, rumble, and NFC. That last one is the most negligible but many 3rd party controllers not licensed officially have most of those.
I'd rather wait for binbok to be available. In the meantime my Satisfye grip makes my joycons feel comfy and since they're fairly recent (and because I have been careful of where I store them) they have yet to drift on me so far.

Would be way more comfortable to hold, not have to worry about setting up a stand and bringing along a pro-controller if you want it to be comfortable. I love my switch, but if i'm playing for more than 20 minutes, my hands cramp up if i'm in portable mode. The Binbock seems to be the seller for me, solely for the gyro-controls. Shame Hori doesn't have that, I'd gladly pay the price of a pro-controller to have a Hori one with gyro-controls.

You can also update Nyxi joycons in the official website.
It also has back buttons that you can map, that's very convenient when playing Smash ultimate or fortnite.
I've been using them for 8 months, and even bought a second pair, but in clear/transparent design.
I believe right now there are more QC pass ones, because both pairs I bought were QC pass, and there's a gap of time of 7 months.
Also, they sell carrying Cases for the switch with the Nyxi joycons, dock chargers, joycon chargers, etc.; for christmas, they were gave a cap with their logo as a gift and a santa's letter, that's dope.
