Anyone that has a dream and still respectfully says “sir” will ALWAYS have my support. It’s SUPER rare these days with people in his age group.

Just curious, are you American? Maybe other Brits disagree, but I increasingly think its really archaic. The same way that even non-athletes are encouraged to call coaches 'coach', instead of their first name. For me, it just gives American coaches license to, unnecessarily, talk down to athletes and other people e.g. Deion Sanders.

I'd wager it's from his rugby training. A big part of the sport is respect for the officials.

@@Spaxcore I see that completely when it comes to officials, but I'd be very surprised if that extended to journalists in rugby.

Physically, he obviously looks the part.
He mentioned his two biggest challenges:
    A) learning the playbook in order "to play fast" IE "do", not "think"
    and
    B) pass protection/blocking
In my view, the latter is the more daunting obstacle. There are loads of skills and techniques to blocking which will be completely foreign to him. Foot placement, hand placement, leverage, lateral movement, reading the defender's intent, identifying blitzes, stunts and twists, etc. All the while he must master these things, he must remain within the laws of the game. It's a far cry from what it appears to be in the eyes of the uninitiated - large men simply colliding together.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the young man can do. I'm sure Andy Reid and his staff are cooking up something in order to exploit his raw talent and unique experience as a world class rugby player.
