From Egypt to Colorado: Yahya Attia’s Story | NFL Academy

Meet Yahya Attia, the man behind the nickname "The Bulldozer".
Born in the north of Egypt and raised in Austria, Yahya joined the NFL Academy in the summer of 2022. After one season at the NFL Academy, the Offensive Lineman has moved to play at the University of Colorado Boulder.
At 6'4, and over 300lbs, it took Yahya longer than you might think to find football. The talented sportsman used to play soccer before an injury made him stop playing the sport. After recovering from his injury, his friends encouraged him to take up American football, and Yahya joined his local club in Austria, the Vienna Vikings.
Dominating performances for the Vienna Vikings put him on the radar of the NFL Academy coaching staff, who invited him to a recruitment camp in Düsseldorf, Germany. Yahya's speed and athleticism impressed coaches at the NFL Academy, who offered him a place at the Loughborough campus in the UK.
Loughborough's elite facilities and expert coaching provided Yahya the perfect place to progress rapidly. Tape from his games for the NFL Academy, including wins over IMG and Erasmus Hall, started to get noticed by D1 college coaches.
There was, however, only one school in mind for Yahya, representing the Buffaloes. This is his story of how he got there.

The NFL Academy is a unique programme that gives aspiring young American football players and outstanding athletes the chance to develop their skills and education. There are two campuses that athletes can apply to join, one in Loughborough, England, and one on the Gold Coast in Australia.
