If he gets a space in front of him, the only people who can get to him will be too small to stop him. If a big guy wants to tackle him, they are going to have to do it fast or he'll already be gone, because his acceleration is shocking. It's an exciting prospect for us rugby fans to see if he can come to terms with the games differences.
I think people underestimate how much LRZ has staked on going to the NFL. Hes been an elite Rugby star since 18. Toured with British and Irish Lions(pretty much the best the 2 Islands have to offer). Clearly its his dream but its also taken balls of steel to make that change and hes an elite athlete determined he wont be returning tale between his legs and that mindset gives a person a little extra
Watch for the Chiefs to install a rugby style kickoff return they should be picking Rees-Zammits brain on how to run an offense with the rugby style mentality
If anyone is up to the challenge for special teams it would be Coach Dave Toub. He worked with Hester on the Bears when other teams tried to keep the ball away from him. Everyone is learning with the new rules.
@@kenbattor6350 is that not allowed in American football, if he catches it before it hits the ground? When is the down over or when do you lose possession if its your down?
As I watched the video, I wondered if Dave Taub would have him punt out of a run formation in a third-and-very-long situation. I would like to see that in the preseason just to have it on tape for the rest of the league to think about.
@@SlowfingerJC No downs in rugby buddy, you play til the ball is dropped and rolls forwards or there's a score or infringement. When you're tackled or the ball hits the ground you just keep playing. You only lose possession if the other team physically takes the ball from you, or you give it to them (by kicking for example).
This dude is SOLID. Rugby is a game where pain is ignored. No pads, just bones on bones. It’s more like hockey on grass with less protection. If he’s as smart as he looks, he’ll make the team and surprise the **** out of the league.
Hopefully the Chiefs utilize him to his fullest. The Eagles have a former rugby player and could use his talents to transform team but haven't in my opinion.
Shame he didn't really feature in the full training today. Hopefully not a bad omen and they are just easing him in as it's his first ever full America football practise Hopefully he features over the next few practises!!
@@MusicmyZombie True, cmac IS small… but he’s still an elite RB. As a true football fan, I’ve long abandoned that “draft rating” mentality. They said the same about Shay Sharpe, AB, Warren Moon, Tom Brady, L-Jack, Terrell Davis… and on and on. They all were late off the board or undrafted because of a lack of size, speed… or some other measurable. But they could ball! So, I agree with you… CMAC small. He’s not your prototypical, every down back… but the dude call ball! his production is elite.
Imagine the lateral passes he could be having this year!! Said he was clocked at 24 mph in his rugby playing. I hope he does well. You know Andy Reid is enjoying drawing up play's for him.
LRZ took a difficult decision to leave Rugby where he was world class,it takes cojones just to do that,i hope he makes the transition well,i can only comment on him from the UK,but if he translates, gets the ball, you will need some VERY big ,very very fast dudes to catch him...

The funny thing about LRZ is he looks like he's not running hard but he just flies past mofos. He's got serious wheels. He hadn't reached his full potential in rugby but at times he did things which were really special and very few other players were capable of. He's a real winner and if anyone can make the transition it's him. He's quite powerful too.
Physically very similar to Albert Lewis who was an elite CB but also a demon ST player. Tall fast and long limbed. Can see him blocking a few kicks/punts.
He might get a game in preseason but I don't see him playing in the regular season he will be lucky to make the bench. KC already have RB and WR'S. He might get a shot as the kick returner but thats about it
First I don't know much about football so forgive me any mistakes I saw another channel talking about Pacheco saying his biggest weakness was running his route hard and not always seeing where the space was. LRZ has the potential to a good counter part to that. He's great at finding space and he probably won't be as good at running strict routes. It could be useful to the chiefs to have both options. If he can learn the game well enough. So probably not this year
American kids play this from no age upwards .. I don’t think you can learn it from 20 plus … If you could then Fijian and Samoan Rugby players would be much better suited
In the last world cup I think he was actually, he looked like he came of age. He was a young guy just coming into his prime which we were just beginning to see. He was the standout player for Wales at the RWC.

Oh yea I hear you loud and clear. It’s exciting
LRZ looks like Cristiano Ronaldo's little brother. I like the nickname "Rees Lightning." Very catchy.

I hope he's not running down the sideline and suddenly decide to kick the ball.
Force of habit 😂

Great to see a standout rugby winger showing his skills in the US
But enough about Caleb Clarke how’s my man LRZ doing ?
The Welsh Christian McCaffrey
Bro? I’m a KC fan all day… but C-Mac is elite. Putting dude in the class of a football player like McCaffrey is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
Hmm nooo.cmc is small... Reese is huge

He's dual threat as well...can run the ball and receive

1:20 70 mins into the game he runs down fast running Fijians who are miles ahead of him. It was a shocking try (touchdown).
Rugby is played in two halfs of 40 minutes. 80 minutes total. Unlike the NFL which is all stop/start. His physicality will handle the NFL

Good shit! Keep it up!
Great job CP
Fingers 🤞 for this dude
It takes some 🥜 to drop what you’re great at because your heart is hungry for something else
there's gonna by some wild ass lateral plays this year..... snap to Pacheco, backward pass to Mahomes, forrward pass to Kelce, lateral to LRZ....😂😂😂

What are those covers on the helmets for?
Kick return under the new rules is what will get him In the playing squad. Not running back or wide receivior.

To be realistic he was never consistent against the big teams on the international stage.
