If I'm not blind 😂, I think the G40 wins here. I ended up picking up the V40 as my daily driver. Was gambling between the two. I love the phone. Definitely better than the V30 which I had.

I never tell people to get a phone. I make videos and show you the difference between a lot of different phones so you can make a decision on what you want to buy. I can't make your buying decisions it's your money. I make many videos about a product so you can educated yourself on what's good for you. I hope this helps

I definitely like the colour of the G8, that's definitely the one I go. Yes the G8 shares the same setup as the V50 5G but 5G network is still not a thing here in Malaysia, hence the G8.

It seems that they have similar optics and software, but the G8 is sharper. But then V40 has 3 cameras. I must mention that a finger print on the camera lens can make the difference seen on this video. Thanks for sharing!

Owner of a V40 since today! ditched my S9+ for it (bc of Exynos..) But the Gcam for my S9 was much better! Cant find a stable one for Pie. Anyone with an specific version + settings? I wouldnt need night sight if it is more stable without it! thx in advance guys :) Great job man! Buuuuuuut I´d rather love it to see more pics instead of videos to be honest.. ^^

I've owned both. The G8 is notably better in low light conditions. The v40 tries to compensate with iso and shutter lag which is more apparent with moving objects, noise, and blown out whites. Currently using the V40 though

First few pictures on g8 look shaken, blurred. With the leaves and with the car i.e. Hard to tell in this case which one is better...

I think the LG V40 is slightly better with a few more details in certain shots on the back camera. But man, that front facing camera on the G8 blows the V40 out of the realm of even being usable. Like it's totally the G8 all day everyday on the front facing camera. But the back camera I'd give to the V40, but only slightly tho. The back cameras are pretty close. But the front facing camera, there's no doubt it's the G8 all day every day :)

damn....LG V40 got murdered by dynamic detail and color balance. I wonder how these phones perform when a RAW image is taken and then edited on Adobe Lightroom or Snapseed. Just curious which sensor soaks more detail.

the whole point of having a low light solution in a camera is so you can see what the darkness is hiding. the G8 does that better than the V40. it's close but Auto mode goes to the G8, manual mode may be the game changer but nobody does that.
I use manual mode all the time. But for RUclips testing I use auto mode. I have a bunch of videos using manual mode and the difference it is. Thanks for watching

That's because he's a v40 guy, he tampered with the cameras to make the v40 look better. Remember at the beginning he said the v40 is his favorite phone

I just got the lg g8 a couple of days ago and its a nice upgrade from my v30 however for what I mainly use it for it's a let down tbh. I listen to a lot of music and record videos often and thats were this phone disappoints, the audio in videos sounds as if it's under water or like idk white noise or something. Then when it comes to playing music in my the v30 has a way louder output then the g8 and yes that's even with the dac on. Idk I love the camera and even gotten the hand gestured down but I may just return the phone before my 14 days is up.

The low light preformance of the V40 is horrible, could not emagine that it gonna be this bad. I have not jet done a comparison between it and the V30 but it feels like V40 worse in low light. The wide end lens gives me horrific results, so far extreamly disappinted for the results of the camera in photo and videos. The stabilization of the video is the only positive i have noticed so far. After 1 weeks use i love the screen and to listening to music on this phone. But really the low light is unacceptable pathetic, and have to improve a lot if i gonna buy a LG phone again. And on this comparison, all buildings look like they are falling backwards. Something seems very wrong with it´s lens, the G8 at least have building look like it stands up normally. And another thing is that the focus is very very very slow at low ligth photos, easy to get a very bad photo that is unfocus. And the problem with to warm and redish is also horrific, and i can´t understand why they did this so bad.
