It really feels like the world is alive and realistic. I love how you can still hear the ambient noise inside but it's muffled and you can hear your fan and fridge. You guys are truly thinking of everything. I can't wait for early access next year!
The muffled part is SO great. Just perfectly immersive.

This might be a dumb question but do you know if there is a way to sign up for early access or will only a few select people like RUclipsrs and streamers be given early access? I want to play the game as soon as possible!😅😍
@@andreeastancu1505 At present, Paralives has no plans to release a beta or anything like that. The Early Access phase will be for everyone at the same time on Steam (you can already wishlist the game, if you haven't yet of course). I don't know what they plan to do for RUclipsrs/streamers specifically but I doubt they'll get preferential treatment in that department ; they might however get promotional material early (this is what happened for the gameplay trailer earlier this year, I believe : the Paralives team sent a package of videos/screenshots to a few RUclipsrs a few days before the actual premiere). I think we'll all have to discover the game together at the same time... and it's probably a good thing :)
The world feels so... complete, like it's actually a realistic world with all the things in it. So proud of this game already

you must live in such an empty world, cause where are you seeing 6 houses, with no pavement, surrounded by a forrest???
honestly people are impressed by nothing these days, though probably cause kids are used to the non stop funnel of crapfest cheap generic games made on unreal with copied assets and generic gameplay that as soon as any game has even an ounce of indivituality, they go insane for it

That inexplicable rooster is so unnecessary and yet my favorite feature of this game so far
I appreciate it on a meta level because even most city dwellers associate rooster crowing with early morning. At the same time it could just indicate some suburban farming nearby.
I live in a medium city and there is freaking rooster singing at 2 AM everyday. So it kinda felt like home. Love it

Sounds a lot like real background noise. The noisy refrigerator caused a storm of emotions in me.
Ideally, certain soundtracks would fade in and out depending on the context:
During the week, residential areas are quiet, and on the weekends, neighbors mow the grass and their children play in their backyards. Accordingly, in the city, it's the other way around - on weekdays, there are plenty of people, traffic noise, and on holidays and weekends, downtown is silent;
Cicadas chirp in the summer. Snow crunches underfoot and a blizzard howls in the winter. Cats scream and fight in the spring;
Frogs croak near the stream at night. Flocks of crows caw over the fields during the day. Just like the roosters in the farm areas, seagulls and the sound of the ocean can be heard in the coastal areas. In the houses near the park, you can hear the rustling of deciduous trees and the creaking of old pines in the wind.
Silly question but what is a cicada? Heard it mentioned before online but maybe it's an animal we don't have in the UK? Is it like a cricket ?
@lindasmith6072 They're insects that make loud chirp or buzz-like noises, especially during summer 😅

A little variation in the bird sounds (with some obviously closer or further away) would be amazing; other than that, the sounds are really bringing the world to life! Also, even if there are no chickens in the game (perhaps in the future?), I really love hearing that rooster's crow in the early hours and thinking "I guess someone must have backyard chickens!" :)
For real. I live in a small town, and someone in or near my street has backyard chickens. It's been 3 years and I still do not know who it is, but I hear the rooster every single morning. xD
I would like it even more if the bird sounds varied. but truly peaceful sounds!! I really like it :DDDDDDDDDD im SO excited for this game!!
It'd be cool if birdsong varied with the season and time of day. Nothing says evening like crows going to roost or fall like migrating geese, though that obviously varies depending on where you are. Hoping ambient sounds will be easy to mod.

I get all the more embarrassed for having been skeptical of the project in the past. Major props.
Some of my favorite memories with Sims 3 come from the little things that you can hear when your Sims are just relaxing and the music isn't playing, things like the idle hum of electronics such as the fridge and such are a huge part of that too. Interior ambience is just as important as exterior, and I'm glad that's being thought of as well.

If you have a look at the Paralives development roadmap, they’ve got an entire section dedicated to modding tools! Paralives will also have Steam Workshop support so players can share and download content there.

With each broken and bare pack The Sims 4 releases, the more excited I get for Paralives! You guys don't even need to market and try to sell your product at this point, EA is doing it for you! :D
Sadly it's not true, Sims 4 has way too many die-hard fans that still buy and play the game and its packs, even if they hate how glitchy they are
haha, somewhat true. It is a bit sad though. EA is a money hungry, shareholder-nonsense company, but then again, real people are working there. I feel for them.

@@RenikeeYep, I havent bought a sims 4 pack for years. Last ones I purchased was pets in 2017 and island living. Nothing since then lol. My laptop is old and this game makes it sound like a jet engine and overheats.
So I am keen for Paralives release. I hope my laptop will be able to play. Or will hopefully upgrade.
Sound design contributes so much to making a world feel full, realistic and lived in. Little details like this are exactly what we've needed in life sim games

House ideas I've already thought of recreating, Green Gables, Lorelai's house, and Orchard House. The sounds are perfect.
i love this so much everything feels so alive. the cars and bugs and a random neighbours dog barking also the fridge making noise i absolutely love all these little details. i seriously can't wait for this game to come out
These sounds lend such a nice realistic blend of noises to this game without being too over the top. I cannot wait for Paralives to come out! The passion of the team is present in everything that they do.
I would love if (for apartments, not sure if houses have this) you guys included the humming/jumping of the heater during the winter. Its very common in nyc. I love how alive this project feels!!!
I love this! The night sounds gave me the idea of making one of my paras get up at 2am to get a snack just to hear the ambience of the whole scenario 😂🤭

Jesus Christ if you just told me I would be excited over the buzz of a fridge in a videogame, I wouldn't believe you, but look where we are. I genuinely love this. So far the atmosphere feels so lively but at the same time, so laid-back... nothing too loud, crazy or goofy, just... normal. It feels natural.
I never knew mundane things like a buzzing fridge or a fan's whirling could be so pleasing in a video game.
I really really hope you guys keep up the amazing work. It's gonna be an incredible game - I can't wait to buy and play it! (I mean I CAN wait, please do take your time with it... but it's just so exciting!!)

Nice! Even The Sims doesn't have motor noises on the fridge. Just door slam noises when a Sim is angry.

One thing I've always missed in Sims is to be able to make my own NPC's and give them jobs in town like ranking the best vegetable or work in the highschool cafeteria. I would absolutly love if it would be possible to create NPC's and their backstories and livingspaces.

I just want an asmr live of this 24 / 7 😊 also distant trains. I grew up in a tiny lake side village that had carrier trains and 2 passenger trains come through. During the night id leave my window open a bit to hear it, especially during stormy nights. I miss those sounds.

I hope the sounds match the landscape too. You won't realistically hear a rooster in the suburbs or city, but more so in the country/farm area. That area doesn't look secluded enough for that specific animal.
We need comically scary noises next to graveyards, please. Let's traumatize younger generations like Sims 2 did 😂
I wonder if different regions will have different ambient sounds. Like waves on a beach area, sharper winds on mountains, running water if close to a river. And if the interior sounds will differ as well. I assume there will be no fridge noise if there isn't a fridge, and it would be cool to make it so we can add an upgrade to make it less noisy. Overall my excitement grows with each new video, can't wait to be playing this!

There's a lot of neighborhoods without them so it'd actually be nice to have the option of going without, though I don't know if I'd want that as the default.

It feels a little loud for the bird sounds but i really like the wind, refrigerator and everything!

I loooove this !!!! I also hope that when you expand the game, maybe you can have different worlds/cities with specific sounds to them. Like city with lots of cars and traffic and people. Or a rural foresty area with really only nature sounds etc. Love the attention to detail 🙏🤍
