      @@summer.bubble.tea. Yeah I was similar. We had 2 minutes to get from class to class and that was ridiculous.. in middle school the building was a large sprawling mess of hallways. If you ran you'd get in trouble.. if you didn't run you'd get in trouble for being late.. in the intermediate school it was even worse where you had 2 minutes to get from floor 3 to the basement on the entire opposite side of the building for a class.. First day of the year that happened for me I told the teacher that I'm going to be late every single day because I'm not running that. He just agreed and said he won't mark me late lol

    Popular thing I love to add to the schools. A "nurses" office. A little place in the school that has a bed in it, decorated like a typical highschool's nurse's office. Good place if your sim is exhausted or uncomfortable

    • @Eventide215
      @Eventide215 3 месяца назад +39

      Yeah in my real life school the nurse's office was 4 rooms connected.. a little waiting area, the actual room where she'd give you whatever you need and look you over, a supply room, and another room with 4 beds in it so you could lay down if needed. There were a few times I ended up in one of those beds just from exhaustion or feeling sick.

    • @idwtbkabbam
      @idwtbkabbam 3 месяца назад +32

      @@Eventide215 That's crazy! Is that just because regular health care is inaccessible/expensive for students? How often were these 4 beds occupied? Where I live, you just go home when you're sick and it's up to the parents to look after you. I'm in the Netherlands, so most kids that were sick just cycled back home. Some were picked up by their parents if they were really hurt.

    In Germany every state has a different time for summerbreak and it changes every year. It's always 6 weeks long but this year Lower Saxony for example had summerbreak from June 24 to August 3. In Bavaria it still goes until September 9, from July 29 on. It's very different every year.
    Then we have two weeks each in autumn, over christmas in the winter and in the spring during easter. But this also depends on the state. Bavaria has the most holidays so they might have some more breaks.
    It's crazy how different it is around the world.

If you want to use a different desk for the principle, what I did was I shrunk the required one down, and the used move objects to put the desk I wanted over it. You can still see the shrunk desk if you look under the desk, but if you use a desk that has a back to it, you can only really see it from one angle. So you can place it in a way that most people won't be looking under the desk

    One thing I learned we do here in Brazil that’s not the case everywhere is that some students only study in the morning (usually 7 to noon), some only during the afternoon (1 pm ish till around 6-7), some mix the two and some schools even provide night classes.
    The exact options vary depending on where you’re attending, but my high school let you choose between morning and afternoon classes, except for senior year, when we’d all go in the morning but stay there till later (around 4 p.m., I think? It’s been a while) 2 days in the week.

    I absolutely LOVE this build! The school feels much more filled out and having all those options to skill build is awesome! I could have used that debate stand for my Not So Berry challenge 😂 The hideout through the exercise room window is genius and perfect for a rebellious teen! I appreciate moving the calssrooms closer to the front. I don't know how many times I've been late to class in the morning. Over all a beautiful build!

    In Denmark, school usually start up again at the beginning of August but University classes don't start until September. Also, we had both a woodworking class, textile work class (like sowing and knitting and such) as well as a cooking class in primary and middle school, so I really like that you added the woodworking class in your build!

    I'm Canadian - our school always starts in the first week of September so MY birthday was always the first week or even first day of school growing up. This build was great! It's always interesting to learn about the different things people had in their schools.

    5:32 @lilsimsie I encourage you (and anyone else) to look up the West Bend West/West Bend East High School in West Bend Wisconsin. My high school was two schools in one. So we had two cafeterias and two library’s etc… super wild.

    For me in austrlia we have terms and then a summer break (over christmas). So we bave 4 terms, first is end of janurary to typically start of april (around easter) then two week break and towards the end of april we go back then go on break to about the veey start of july, two weeks then start back up around 4th week of july then end towards the end of sep, two week break(again) then start back up in October then finish around the week before christmas, then it repeats :)

    Hi!! :) im from Poland and here we have actually a pretty nice school&breaks system. We start school at the beginning of September amd then we have a summer break starting late june that lasts till the beginning of the school year so a little more than two months but we have other breaks during the school year, our Christmas break is around two weeks amd then we have another break that is usually a month or two after the christmas break (it depends om the region you live in but yeah), we call it winter break and it lasts for two weeks. Of course we have other smaller breaks, like an Easter break!

    Where I live in Australia, school starts at the end of January / beginning of February.
    I always thought the school year started then because that was the start of the actual year, and I was so shocked when I found out that other countries do it differently. But it's just because that's the last month of our summer. Took me an embarrassingly long time to make the connection. 😅

    Schools always start around the 1st-2nd week of September where I'm from. It was always peculiar to me that in the US they start in August, it would be deadly with the heat here! (context: as a student none of my schools had a/c or even a fan which is crazy but yeah).

    So the schools in the areas I’ve lived in have actually all started Mid-August (Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri) but most of the Midwest schools in my experience have the one building. Love what you’ve done! Looks great!!

    Love this! In my HS edit, I used the default build but made the upstairs bigger and redid the basement a lot. I added upstairs a science lab with an attached horticulture room like my high school had, a woodshop/crafting room, and a "media immersion" room inspired by Degrassi: The Next Generation where they learn tech production skills; so I added things in there like the video station and the music production station. I made a debate room and I amped up the music and art classrooms and the basement weight room. I always add a research machine to the computer room and decorate the basement a bunch, but I've never fully rebuilt cause it's intimidating!! I've played storylines with Jeb Harris when their power got shut off staying overnight at the school and making friends with the Janitor (for storyline purposes) so he could hang around the lot overnight.

      Also my high school had to install cameras because we (the theater kids) would take chairs and climb the trees on the side of the building and have tea parties up in the trees with the chairs, and we eventually unbolted a latch to get onto the auditorium roof very similar to your little roof hangout spot and we all wrote our names up there and would sneak up there after school when we worked on the musicals.
