  • Riot's champion design from both a gameplay and a visual perspective I personally feel has been getting worse and worse over the years. Akshan is a prime example of this.

Sorry about the few seconds of blackness at 8:50-8:57, there was a rendering error there and I didn't notice it until now.

Now we have a new happy going girl who fight the bad guys , hey wait a minute lol have they just fused Gwen and seraphine with kennen . and created a new bad developed character who will be inevitably be forgotten by us :(

If akshan was simply the grapple hook, hed be so much more fun and tolerable. Also if they want the revive because "lore" then put it on his fucking ultimate. Not a basic ability

The example with successful monster champions are:
    Khazix
    Tresh
Two of the most played champions ever.
They just have a pretty fun kit.
Kogmaw is an interesting case, average gameplay but his damn cute skins are selling like crazy. It can be a good way to deliver on both needs, cute disney characters and creative original design.

I swear every new champ release is trying to one up the other in the shear amount of overloadedness.

Twitch Q may not have infinite duration, but it not being tied to walls allows both Jukes and mad escapes from situations that an Akshan couldn't.

Being able to recall in camouflage is pretty neat too

I like how they complain that monster champions are too hard to design. Like yeah, you have the power to change that lol

I don't have a problem with his kit wt all I can manage him everyone can, the thing is his P like what the hell he can revive all of them in a sec. this probably will turn the game for his team I hope they remove it, or at least when he is level 1 he can reduce reviving time like 10 secs when he is at lvl6 20 secs and go on

IMHO the design team needs to go back to two philosophies they had back in season 8:
1: What singular ability or gimmick is this champion going to be based around? Is it going to be something simple like Morgana's Q and how all her abilities enable her to keep you there dying? Is it gonna be like Taliyah where terrain matters? Or is it gonna be like Yorick, where his entire MO is getting objectives? It should not be stuffing several gimmicks into one champion.
2: Base a champion's visuals off of their subtitle and name. (Ex: Poppy, Keeper of the Hammer: Her kit revolves around the hammer and keeping people and herself safe. Teemo, The Swift Scout: He's a scout so duels aren't where he thrives, he needs to watch people and set traps in their way to win fights. Ivern, The Green Father: Parental-like care taking and nature themes running through the kit.) Champions have been getting more and more about what rules they can break (revives, invulnerability, stealing abilities, leveling stats, ect) instead of what rules should they play with; ie: What limits does this character have? Do they engage, or are they engaged on? Do they teamfight? What do they do for the team.
Also side note, but every non-support champ not really being about the team recently has been really annoying. (Except you Lillia, I see you) Like, not every champion should be able to 1v5 and their team-work should be obvious. Yone, Akshan, Viego, Gwen; all of these champs were designed to be played entirely without needing a team. And I'm not saying everyone needs to be a support, but Kled gives something to his team, same with Kench, Kindred, and Gnar, all without sacrificing their ability to do things by themselves either.
All this is to say, give Legends of Runeterra Visual team the reigns for champ designs for a while and make champions feel like they are characters, not just a bundle of mechanics in supermodel bods.

I completely agree. A champion used to be one unique thing with the kit and thematic designed around that. With Akshan I used to think it would be the revive and thought "Wow, it's a cool diversion to put a revive on a carry, not a generic heal support."
Then I found out that was only his first kit, but they boxed in three more because "Semtinels stronk" and that fucking sucks because we already had a champion whose identity was having 5 kits and at least Aphelios did it in a unique way.

Yes, the heroes (models) themselves are not interesting at all. Basically, they are all monotonously pretentious or creepy. Either the universe does not allow you to come up with interesting heroes or the developers have no balls.

i actually really like his kit, some of the ideas are really cool, the grapple hook looks so fun, the revive mechanic can turn a game. i just dont like that all these cool ideas have been crammed in to 1 single champion

Sion: very slow. Easy to kill. Very slow. Killed with ease. Very slow.
    And then you have Akshan.
(I said sion is easy to kill because almost all adc's build kraken now so tanks arent as good when every adc can half their hp in 5 basics , specially a slow tank as sion.)

I've been running a build on Aphelios that goes like this: Eclipse > Collector > LDR
Runes: PTA - PoM - Bloodline - Cut Down
Once I get my second or third item (Collector and LDR can swap), tanks basically don't exist so yeah I totally agree.

Akshan, he wins because he's the main character
    He's faster than you
    Smarter than you
    Hits harder than you
And is more attractive to boot,
I give him a month left before he's gutted
