Great Video! As an IT consultant for more than 30 years, all this is true. And I saw this coming two decades ago. And that's why my 6 vehicules fleet is from 2007 and older, except my 2013 NV200 for work. None of them has new head unit or infotainment system. When I want real privacy, I leave my cell phone home. And at home, no Google Nest, Apple Homepod or any of these. I love my work, Computers and networks are essential, but when humans are doing human things for all the bad reasons, this is where I disconnect.
Since about 2005 the cars started to have monitoring systems that can track speed, driving habits, engine and system status, and GPS location. When you bring the vehicle in for service they can know if the driver is hard on the vehicle, or is an easy driver. They will know if you make fast starts, and or do hard breaking.
It's only a soft button. Data will still be going out. But instead of your consent and opened, it will be silently recorded and transmitted. If you want real privacy in your car, buy a 20yr old vehicule and leave your phone home.

Unplug the antenna from the telemetry module in your car. Deny them access to the car.

My ranger raptor has the options to turn all that off. First thing i did was turn off shared data to insurance 😂
