Condition Renegade PVE Rotation Guide - Guild Wars 2

- The rotation for Condi DPS Renegade leans more towards to complex side of the spectrum than a lot of other DPS classes. However, I find if you learn and practice the rotation without the Charged Mists trait first and then build from there, I find it makes a lot more sense.
Charged Mists does give you increased overall damage and utility but it makes energy management more important and requires you to adapt your rotation depending on the encounter. Because of this, often I prefer running Song of the Mists reduce the mental load at the cost of slightly lower dps.
When you are providing Alacrity, it is more or less required to run Charged Mists for the extra energy. Fortunately If you know both the Charged Mists and Non-Charged Mists rotations, you just swap between them depending on when you need to use Orders from Above.

Outro music is provided by Streambeats. A fantastic initiative by Harris Heller.

Mastering the non charged mists rotation before the meta rotation tip improved my life immensely. I don't have to panic spam every skill until I can get back into the rotation anymore. Thank you 🙏🏻
You're so welcome. Glad you found the tip useful. I found it so much easier to learn that way as well. Gives you a nice base to build from before you start having to do quick math to figure out how much energy to need to burn in a pinch.
Yooo nice vid!!!! I used to main condi renegade. You have sparked my interest again!

Btw I need to have the full version of the outro!! Awesome taste in music!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. The outro is "On My Way - Instrumental" from Streambeats (Demon album).
You're the man!
Ty dude for this tips, i am better on my rotation now
Thanks, glad you found it useful!
Wow,omg i wanna learn this 😊🎉.
Awesome guide dude! Just started using Renegade and learning it now
Btw, what is the font you use for arcdps?
Thank you :-) Glad you found it helpful. I believe the font is called Lemon Milk Medium. I followed instructions in Ravvalicious' guide to download the font and get it set up. ruclips.net/video/S8omEsK_GNw/видео.html
Really enjoyed watching ^^
Got to clean up my renegade, hes not seen much play since his creation xD
YET!
Get on that Condi Renegade life haha. Always been one of my favourite rotations to do.
Hey nice video. It's very helpful for new players. However, I think there can be squeezed more from the condi ren as I've played it extensively since beginning of my journey last year. I tend to lean towards a slightly different opening - you do 5-3-legend swap-elite-2-weapon swap, while I find 2-5-legend swap-elite-3-2-weapon swap a bit more burstier as you squeeze that additional spell during the first pulses of your elite. Also, connecting swapping legends and weapons does not seem good in a larger scale of play, as mace has more powerfull autoattack (due to the chain) and lower cooldowns of the spells.
EDIT: Hm... The difference in the opening is miniscule and I assume it just fits my playstyle more, because it sits on a peak much longer for me, but also peaks slightly higher (but it could've been mostly clicking faster due to muscle memory). The issue with your opening is that for both 5 and 3 we kinda have to wait for energy to cast in Kalla at the start, while 2 costs less so it can be casted instantly.
Cheers, will need to give your opener a shot, especially if it makes it that bit more fluid. It's a little bit odd having to hold off on casting some skills so that the energy regenerates.
Awesome!
I definately will need to try that out on my new condi renegade.
Could you reocmmend equipment set and runes?
I've included a link to the standard Condi Renegade build which I'd recommend aiming towards. That being full Viper gear with Nightmare Runes. If you don't have enough dungeon currency for Nightmare Runes then Runes of the Krait is a decent budget alternative.
@@connorconcarne Awesome, thanks!
Hi! what Sigils can i use if i only want to use shortbow, i dont want to use mace and axe.. just a single weapon
In that case I would probably use Sigil of Torment + Bursting. You still get value from weapon swap sigils though because your legend swap triggers the sigils as well.
Hey, what is easier to do big dps? Condi Harbinger or this Renegade? And which has more survivability, for a newer player?
I'd say they both do comparable dps. According to the Snow Crows benchmarks Renegade literally does only 100 dps higher (out of just under 40,000 dps). Their rotations are around a similar level of complexity as well I think. In my practice I didn't find one rotation harder than the other.
One minor quirk with the condi renegade rotation is needed to use a single auto attack between your skills when in shortbow on Mallyx to proc the extra damage on the elite skill pulses. You get used to it after a while and it actually slows down the rotation a little which makes it easier. However, I'd say that makes it a tiny bit harder for new players to get used to.
Condi Renegade is more survivable I'd say. You have a heal skill in each legend and you don't have to worry about the Blight mechanic on Harbinger.
Your guide is very easy to understand I like that
But the volume is a bit too low maybe increase it next time
Good job
Thanks so much! Will keep the volume in mind in future edits.
Been playing on and off GW for few years now and condi Renegade is my only character i play with. But never used any specific "rotations", and i probably should learn it because i am comming up on some more challenging stuff in game. In all honestly i am not much of an mmo player and the concept of "rotations" is weird to me..i am more of a Dark Souls / Elden Ring game types player and i am used to using skills which you need when you need them.
So..naturally this seems extremely complicated to me and i have few questions :D
Why not using the number 5 skill on the bow ?
Why not using Soulcleave summit wich heals you a bit and draws aggro away from you ?
Why mace/axe with Kalla and bow with Demon legend ?
I do exactly the opposite, with my main guiding thought being i soften up the target from mid distance while Icerazor deals damage and draws aggro away from me, if enemy has a blue bar i drop Darkrazor on top of it then Icerazor..and hit it with the shortbow while i have energy.
Then when i am almost out of energy i switch to mace/axe and Demon legend and use that jump and pull skill ( or that axe throwing skills that pulls you on the enemy ) and then turn on Embrace the Darkness and smash the target with my mace first skills then second, then first again, then third...etc.. untill i have energy.
Why is this wrong ? Why is this way better ?
Also, i tend to use shortbow a bit more in general because i found out that getting close to the enemy with mace and axe gets me killed very fast, very often.
This way seems kinda contra-intuitive for me so it is probably daunting to learn ( because i have to learn skills order by heart without realizing why probably ).
Thanks for your comment! Will do my best to answer.
- Shortbow 5 has quite a high energy cost for the amount of damage it does. So that's why it doesn't get used in the DPS rotation. It's still really good CC though.
- Soulcleave Summit uses a fair bit of energy which you need for your higher DPS skills. I do often use it though if I have stockpiled enough energy while in Kalla and I need to get below the 10 energy threshold.
- The main reason to use Shortbow in Mallyx is you get the extra damage from the elite skill when you use a skill that uses energy between each elite skill pulse. This leads you to doing something like - Skill, 1 auto, skill, 1 auto etc. Shortbow doesn't have a full autoattack chain like you do on mace so you don't get punished for using just a single auto attack. The shortbow auto attack also has a fairly quick cast time so it works well with the Mallyx elite skill.
- Strictly for damage using Shortbow in Mallyx and Mace/Axe in Kalla is better, if you're comfortable doing the reverse though then the difference won't be that much in the long term. It's more important to be comfortable with your rotation and being able to adapt it on the fly.
- It's totally fine to primarily use shortbow. There's a Condi Renegade build that just camps shortbow and it still does competitive DPS. It's also much simpler as well. Using Mace/Axe as well is really if you want to push your DPS a bit higher at the cost of a bit more complexity.
how much is the dps diffrence between the two variants? thx
When I tested it was around 5% difference between the Charged Mists and non-Charged Mists variants. With Charged Mists being slightly higher.
I think that one thing which can't be stressed enough is that doing rotations is overrated. Don't panic if you fall out of a rotation, 'cause you will. Fat fingering, boss mechanics, lag, dodges, interrupts, altered timing, you name it. It's going to screw up your rotation fairly regularly. One of the problems I had with Weaver (Power, not Condi.. fuck Condi >.
Is this build now obsolete. I have it already made but I have been on a 3 month break and now I don't see it on SC anymore.
It's still up on Snow Crows and is perfectly viable (it even got buffed slightly in a recent patch) snowcrows.com/builds/revenant/renegade/condition-renegade
@@connorconcarne Ah I thought there would be a separate page as before with ritualist gear.
I thank you for the breakdown as well. It's high quality.
@@connorconcarne Ah sorry I was not being clear before. I meant solo C alacrity renegade
Ah fair enough, SC seemed to have removed reference to it for the time being. In raids and strike missions it can be tough to justify bringing Condi Alac Ren compared to things like Mechanist, Mirage and Specter. Still works just fine through. Also sees a lot of play in Fractals because of the huge amounts of CC it can bring. Also of the condi alac builds normally played it is one of the 'burstier' ones available. Which is very nice for Fractals.
@@helebarda344 It was just added back in January. TBH nothing changed, it was always good.
still good?
Yep :) Condi Renegade is still amazing. It's been basically untouched in the last few patches.
@@connorconcarne nice but I hope they will buff him slightly so his condi ramp up is faster
This is why I will never raid in this game.
Here your rotation just feels like a chore that u have to study.
It just feels more natural in different games..
Great video guide. This class/gameplay is so bad, I don't understand why anybody would want to play it.
