Great video, thank you! Also, any hope you can make a tutorial on renegade with those new changes? I'm especially interested if it's possible to make a viable power version of it.
I'm definitely looking to cover the updates to Renegade soon. I've been absolutely loving it in WvW recently and need to dedicate some time to learning the updated rotations in PVE.
Hell yeah was waiting for this, stopped playing my vindi because the energy meld change scared me and I don’t like swords How much dps loss is it just camping gs do you think?
Camping GS is a few thousand DPS loss. Not sure the exact number but you'll still pump really hard with it. It makes up the difference if you're against a boss with a large hitbox.
A question regarding Relics: Relic of the thief grants a total of 5% increased Strike for 6 seconds, which seems like it's fine enough, but have you run tests regarding the Relic of Isgarren, granting 10% Strike/Condi against targets you've dodged for the same 6 seconds? I'm not sure if it's a matter of the activation requirement or if there's an unlisted internal cooldown but the theorycrafter in my head says that Vindicator, who already wants to dodge would be able to take full advantage of the extra 5% strike from Isgarren over Thief?
Relic of isgarren does not give damage bonus when you dodge, it gives when you evade an attack. Thief relic is a guaranteed damage rise while with isgarren you need to make sure your dodge evade an enemy attack and not an empty one, while doing your dps rotation you mostly need to dodge constantly even without enemy attack for trait bonuses.
Hey, I started playing because of you! I'm completly new but i would love to know which Armor set are you wearing for (aestethic looks) and where to get it. I haven't found a video on you channel about it. If you have one let me know please :)
That's so great to hear! Glad you enjoy the armor. You can check out the exact skins for all my characters on my GW2Geary page gw2geary.com/c/Eli_Niro?eq=2&bld=3 That should be set to the armor my Power Vindicator has. In terms of where to get them, it's a mix of Festival Rewards, Raid rewards and gemstore items. The GW2 Wiki is your best friend when it comes to finding out where every item is found. It's amazing.
Thanks man! I am a long time player (just got my 12th bday present yesterday on my Guardian) and I have played on and off over the years. The last time I was playing was when EoD came out and I was maining Condi Renegade which was great at the time. I come back now and its DPS has been nerfed hard (the shortbow/mace axe build). The build had a semi difficult rotation that takes a while to learn so I was kinda gutted. But I just spent time learning this build and rotation and I basically have it down and I am blasting DPS again. You are the man !
I don't even know if this also works but use Spear, Nomads, dodge, energy meld, dodge, gs f5, dodge, scavengers burst, dodge, gs 4, 3, 2, activate 4, and go back into my dodged and energy melds/scavenger bursts. I don't go to into Shiro that often lol
I just made revenant aiming for vindi few days ago because how fun it played in pvp i tried, now lvling it and its nice to know it is good in power builds.
as somewhat okay vindi main player, all i can add is know your encounter( well it works for all class too),since your dodge now include in damage rotation and some of your attack have force movement, pay attention to what enemy are doing,i saw many people playing vindicator panic dead drop dodging attack when they can just side step or jump, therefore they messed up their rotation and dont know how to recover or worse they dead drop/gs3/sword5 into dead. its not perfect class, there are still issue with vindicator, lack of range, sure you can use shortbow, but vindicator are power damage especially in pve endgame, shortbow is condy damage,if you need to use short bow might as well change to condi qherald or renegade ( short bow works well with cele vindi in wvw tho ),endurance is part of your resource rotaion like state above it could be the dead of you if you are not careful, other issue is dead drop is still buggy,if you change weapon during dead drop there is no damage, and in whisper of jormag strike you have a chance that youll get bug of cant attack because of animation lock if during your dead drop you got ice attack ( the ones that throw you into the air ). lastly,is it fun to play?sure,is there any power class that can do better?of course, but can other class can jumping around like Mario on steroid?i dont think so
Why is nobody doing gs 5 switch to shiro and activate impossible odds before it goes off anymore? That was always a huge burst in the previous rotation. Before energymeld change.
i recently use the build, is it normal to be so vulnerable to the damage...? i died so much only by the mordrems in silverwaste, or is that any rotation i miss?
Champ Mordrems or norm/vet/elite ones? For Champs as you're learning the rotation maybe first not to include evade (Death Drops) as part of the rotation and use them to actually evade attacks. Remember you have 3 heals for healing utilities that you can shuffle around when hurt badly: Legendary Assassin utility 1, Legendary Alliance utility 1 on BOTH Tactics. For normal mobs, use the "open world" build suggested towards the end of the video. Carry a staff instead of Sw/Sw for secondary weapons for additional heals/condi cleanse on Staff 2 and Staff 4.
One thing I would like to point out because no guide is telling this. Not yours, not even sc. Essentially every guide tells you to play gs/2swords, which is bad idea because you lack cc. Every cc is either soft, used in rotation or too expensive (energy) compared to effect. What I recommend is taking one of those weapons (either gs or 2 swords) and then on weapon swap play staff with sigil of paralyzation. It has one of the best ccs in the game and offers utilities like cleanse and block. Ofc You sacrifice a little damage, but hey what's better - fail the breakbar and gg or less dps but complete the encounter? Im talking about endgame, especially fracs cm, bosses like samarog, etc; in open world do whatever. In general it's good guide, You covered everything except that :)
Fyi on something like Samarog you can just aim to be one of the tanks, and you still have reaver's rage for CC if needed. but for most endgame content i havent noticed that staff dps vindi is needed at all, unless the groups are running absolutely no CC
@@AsterionGW2 its always bugging me to read this kinda comment,i run endgame content now, even in my static which kinda have elitist atitude never they told me to bring hard cc,reaver's rage or jade wind if really nessecary is enough to contribute, you want cleanse?active alliance tactic and use tree song, heck event when we run HTCM and i run venticator,cc bar most of the time already gone before the tablets hit the ground, because its not venticator main responsiblity, the ventary have other use there, and as you said,if the group need vindicator to bring staff for cc especially or even cleanse? ( the fck) then maybe there is something wrong with the group. the hard reality is as main vindi player there just some places where vindicator doesnt belong
Came for the build, stayed for Connor. Another great video!
Thanks so much mate! I really appreciate it. Also, your Power Catalyst video was an absolute lifesaver yesterday. We put it to great use haha.
Great video, thank you!

The dog sleeping. So cute
Haha Addi says thank you :)
this builds DPS is great, but having a huge problem with staying alive fighting anything with decent damage.

Finally a nice and easy to understand video! I wish you make more of these for every class :)

Like Coldwind said, Isgarren only applies the damage when you evade whereas Thief Relic applies the damage modifier basically permanently.
Can I ask you for your keybinds? I kinda have struggles to change weapon and legends at the same time
I tried this build and died within 1 minute lmao. Pure DPS but lacking in survivability
Thanks for this build Josh, will be trying it out! Regards Missbadger
Thanks Missbadger! I know you'll enjoy it.

Can I play without the sigil of stamina? Spamming dodge makes it to easy :c
great breakdown of the rotation. Appreciate that.
Thanks so much, glad you found the rotation breakdown useful.
Thank you for the detailed explanation of the rotation! Have a lovely day!
You're very welcome :) Have a wonderful day as well!
Great guide! i came looking for wvw tips but learned way more. Subbing!
Now i wanna see spear/GS rotation!

Awesome video. Just what I needed. Thanks Connor
Really love the mobility and how noob friendly it can be.
Thanks so much mate! Vindicator is one of the best new player friendly DPS builds out there. Especially in terms of power builds.

Think it's time I learn this -Orca
Definitely recommend it! Given how good you are at Herald this will take you no time at all to learn.
Just finished the HP for this. Gonna work on this looks like a lot of fun. Thanks so much.
You're most welcome :) Enjoy!
I found out the hard way, you can buy hp in wvw. I usually do this to play a class and unlock a spec.
would be more helpful if you went over the build more than showing clips of uninformative game play

I love the dragon head, i didnt take it off since i got it 😀
I normally don't go out of my way for Festival Skins but that one I made an exception for haha.
Outstanding video. Thanks.
can you Guide Shortbow Vindicator for wvw
Why is nobody doing gs 5 switch to shiro and activate impossible odds before it goes off anymore? That was always a huge burst in the previous rotation. Before energymeld change.
He did do it. 9:05
Yooooo thankyou soo much for this video.
No problem mate :) Glad you found it useful.
I wish ANet gave us a spear or a polearm to use outside the water
Omg your voice 🫠❤️
Haha why thank you.
I thought they nerfed it last Tuesday?
Awsome video like always!

is this exact build nerfed now?
Nope
Nope, it still pumps as hard as ever. An amazing choice for newer players to pick up.
