@@jakesenk For a Librivox reader, he was 10/10. But but by professionally read audiobook standards, its about 6/10. Clear and concise, but very monotone, wooden and lacks any character. I find if u start with these and move on to the good ones its ok. Very hard to go the other way though...
In my opinion, the opening three chapters of this book are amongst the finest writing of all time. The sheer sense of that dark, threatening and hostile landscape, the rising tension as the wolves get more hungry and desperate, the growing danger surrounding the two men - it's just all top-notch. Thereafter it all becomes a bit bogged down in too many details of the wolf-life, somehow it doesn't retain quite the same hold for me.
I read this as a child, aged about 10 or 12, and I, too, was totally captured by the writing. This and The Black Arrow, shaped my taste in literature for a lifetime.

This is 3 years later…. It if you want to finish it quicker read it lmao. It’s like more than 3X faster. Instead of taking 6 it would have taken you 2 hours. Reading is good. I like listening to audiobooks, they’re fun whilst walking or doing other things but they’ll never replace actual reading
I love the way you read this😄your voices are spot on! Thank you for this! Your good because you don’t do really long pauses and you really bring out the cooler of the story. I don’t know what to say
Wow, we really didn't know much about wolves back then did we? I wonder how much Jack London's writing on wolves would of changed if he knew what we do now. "But it was not Kitche's fault, a wolf mother wasn't made to remember her pup for more than a year or so" -Wolves stay with their mother's and father's pack up to three years. Two if they are a female. Then they leave to start their own pack. Funnily enough, you could still think of Kitche's and One Eye's pack at the beginning as a mixed pack. It would still be accurate to wolves in real life. Wolf packs only have in fighting and dominance displays when there are wolves that aren't born into it. Otherwise a wolf pack consists only of the mother, the father, and their offspring. It doesn't matter if it's accurate though. I love Jack London's stories. I just wanted to share some fun facts. White Fang has always been an inspiration to me ever since I read a simplier version of the story. I got the full version of his book gifted to me. The book was lost however, so I am glad that I get to enjoy it here. Thank you for uploading this audiobook!
The first White Fang book I read was more like a simplified version of Jack London's writing. I was so confused when I got the actual book, how much it actually had. I had to search for the ptarmigan chick part to make sure it was the White Fang I wanted to read. Thank you for uploading this!!
Thanks for the excellent reading. I had read the book as a child which made Jack London one of my heroes and now I enjoyed it again through your reading.
i do not agree of what Jack London believes but he is an amazing writer . the narrator was great . i really enjoyed just chilling drawing and knowing im doing my homework .
Excellent reading of a brilliant book I really enjoyed it. It is an actual theory that wolves first started to become domesticated when they stole/scavenged food from human settlements, it's like this book is the story of wolves evolution into dogs compressed into one animals life.
