A note about the trade and hunt actions... One worker does get you one coin/provision, but the second adds 2. You get 3 total with two workers. There's a '+' between them. That means at 13:32 and 18:07 you should have taken 3 coins and 3 provisions, respectively.
@@OneStopCoopShop first time we played, when we did the pray action, we took the workers back into our supply. Let's just say the scores were quite s bit higher than they should have been.
@@OneStopCoopShop Thematically, it wouldnt make sense if the merchant and the scout would only add one coin resp. one provision which is the same the basic worker would earn.....merchants and scout are specialists, arent they? ;-)
This is a great video! I bough Paladins over 6 months ago and never play it because it took a lot of space and the rules felt overwhelming. Thanks your your video, I was able to understand the AI better and now I’m enjoying this game. Looking forward to add Architects and Viscount to my collection.
I am obsessed with Paladins!! You've got to get the promo cards, though! The Paladin abilities are amazing in the promos, not to mention some of the other Townsfolk and Intruders. Thanks for the playthrough, Mike!
@@lgmhorus honestly, I didn't enjoy my solo plays very much, so I wasn't motivated to play the 10 or so times I have as my minimum to review something. I found the solo AI too punishing, which took away a lot of the enjoyment. So not likely to do a 5 in Five, at least in the near future.
@@OneStopCoopShop Ah, that's too bad. If I may offer my opinion, it's not so much that is too punishing, but the game does have a steep strategy learning curve. I was constantly getting crushed, but now I'm able to win about a third of my games. But I really enjoyed this one, so I was motivated to keep trying, but your time is surely way more limited than mine :)
@@lgmhorus oh for sure, that's another reason I didn't want to review it. I got the feeling (which you have confirmed) that it would take a lot of investment to get truly good at it, and yeah, wasn't having enough fun to put in the time!
Great playthrough Mike, it basically went the same as mine, but I didn't find it interesting enough to work at getting better at it. Hopefully this appears on shelf life as i reckon it's a gonna :D
What a coincidence....just the day before yesterday, I played a solo game of paladins myself. Concerning the difficulty, I decided to let the AI start with two developments which doesnt exist in the rules....but why not have 5 levels of difficulty. ;-)
The Ai can start with 1, 3, or 5 King's Order cards / 1, 3, or 5 Work shops controlling the difficulty. (1 easy, 3 medium, 5 difficult) or just adjust it yourself. For every King's Order, place a workshop.
Check the rules on page 22. The first sentence under suspicion says it’s when a criminal is gained to your supply, not when it’s played. Thanks for watching!
The game certainly has its swingy elements. I was more bothered by the variance in power in the wall cards you and the AI can draw, especially when the AI gets one that lets it take 2 more actions ;)
So, funny thing is, I've been playing it more, and I'm enjoying it more, so when I do a review (I haven't done one yet), I think it'll be more positive than this video would imply. Not Viscounts positive. I definitely like this one less :)
Just a quick heads up...YT unsubscribed me from about 1/2 my subscriptions, including your channel, so you might want to check your numbers. Carry on :).

Viscounts is my favorite of the three. Thanks for watching!
Such a great game that I never tire of! This and Viscounts are amazing, deep, and challenging solo games. Top 10 for me.
I’ve heard good things about Viscounts. Glad you enjoy both
When you took the Gatekeeper during setup, I believe you get the free coin right away as well.
Good call!
Thanks for the play through Mike. I’ve been looking at getting this game. See you at work

27:37. Wow! Nobody caught the error where he never shuffled the scheme deck after the AI prayed!!
Yup, good catch!
@@OneStopCoopShop this game is really good, gotta say.
Been looking forward to this one :)
Hope you enjoy!
Still waiting for Viscounts, but this is so far my favorite of the Garphil games, and my top game from last year. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! I'm curious to try the new co-op rules they apparently have for Paladins.
@@OneStopCoopShop Will there be a 5 in 5 for this one as well?

11:20 where does it say that in the rule book? How many the Ai gets per round?
Not sure at this point. I culled this one a while ago, and the automa rules were never too clear to begin with ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop I found it in the solo part of the book. Some main rules are the last sentence, instead of stating it first of the paragraph.
That’s frustrating, hiding it like that!
So you draw suspicion cards as soon as you gain purple meeples? I thought you only draw them when you play the meeples?
Check the rules on page 22. The first sentence under suspicion says it’s when a criminal is gained to your supply, not when it’s played.

Hadrian’s is definitely more straightforward, especially without an automa to run
