Just stopping by to say ‘Hi’. I believe the AI starts the game with a free guild hall build. This uncovers a symbol that helps with its focus. Thanks for the video Mike
At 38:54, when you culled the laborer, you should have picked up 2 coins for getting rid of him. Great play through; really interesting to see your two-action focus work as well as it did
Thanks for this video. I already know how to play Paladins but this rulebook for Viscounts just isn't very good for how the AI works. This video was very helpful; I'll play a game of this tomorrow.
@floodkevin4716 I prefer Paladins but I do enjoy Viscounts. I hear the expansions make Viscounts even better for solo, but I am not ready yet to fork out another 90 bucks for them and the big box.
@@Dragonnox I'm thinking of pulling out Paladins myself today. I really like that one, probably the best. I've put enough plays into Viscounts to tell. I like Paladins strict structure
When will the automa use the flip a deed debt/add scheme/reshuffle that are visible in their tableu at the right? There is no mention in the rulebook and you seem to ignore them
The solo rules are certainly not as clear as they should be :) What you are asking about are the workshop building bonuses on the right. The icons you see are the TRIGGERS for the bonus, IF the automa has built the building above them. For example, whenever they flip a deed, if that building above is built, they get a bonus (mostly it’s one free resource or a virtue move or the like). Hope that’s clear!
I think you forgot to move the corruption token at 00:22:34 you played thge squire, but the thief was still on your board. So you should move the black marker. Again at 00:24:12 you play the financer, but the thief is still on the board. Yoy should move the corruption marker.
Never mind, I recalled that I had asked the same question on a different video made by the designer. It and the answer are here: ruclips.net/video/2pmmRq4pN-4/видео.html&lc=UgwIYZ7AGH6VwxqHwnx4AaABAg. So you did implement the AI correctly at 14:08.
Per the rules on page 29, the AI can't cross rivers when building (they have the same restriction as a player). The only time they go to the next available spot clockwise, ignoring their location, is when they get a free building placement from an effect, like a manuscript.

Thanks very much. I was really struggling to grasp the AI and the last 4 boxes on the right--below the building, you put that one to bed for me. 🙂
The rules aren’t as clear as I wish they were… glad I could help!
Have had my eye on this one for so long !!! Looks like a really well designed AI for solo. Thanks for the playthrough! ;D
Thanks for watching. And yes, definitely a smooth AI to run overall.

Is that right? That would definitely help

Good catch. This was a tough one to run and film and comment on all at once!
@@OneStopCoopShop yeah, a lot of moving parts in the last two games of the West Kingdom series.
At 29:20, when the journeyman went to the discard pile, you forgot to get the virtue and free hire.
Also, at 46:53, if I'm not mistaken, you always move the corruption before the virtue, so the AI markers should have ended on the middle space.
@@fred321 Good catches for both! Thanks :)
Fantastic playthrough
Thank you!
Brilliant really enjoyed it.... 👍
Glad to hear it!

How you liking it 3 months later lol. I just got it today and got through my first game. Really cool AI. Still hard for me

@floodkevin4716 Enjoy! I am probably going to play it soon with the City of Crowns expansion. Can't wait!
@@Dragonnox have fun too! It's pretty great that expansion

@@OneStopCoopShop thank you so much! It wasn't clear at all!
Solo on this looks so much better than pal and architect.
Best one of the three for me!
Thanks for a great playthrough:)
Any chance that on 29:22 you forgot to take the bonus for the journeyman sliding out?
Possibly! I recorded this more than 3 years ago 😅
You are missing a single point for yourself because you forgot to take an extra inkwell at the end from the AI clashing.

You might be right! It’s been a while 😅
Gotta be real Mike. Watch this cuz of your goofy commentary. Plus you says Vizcounts in the first minute. Love it
Hahaha, awesome. Glad you enjoyed it ;)
Thanks a lot
At 14:08, shouldn't the AI have built on the most clockwise building space in its sector and on its side of the river?
I think you might be right!
Incorrect, the AI places the building on the left-most; that's what it says in the rule book.
@@warever37 I find that rule really unclear; left-most from what point of view?

At 31:50 is the action at the bottom of the card of the Enforcer mandatory?
Great video. At 33:08, if the building areas for the AI are full, don't they build in the next available clockwise spot?
Per the rules on page 29, the AI can't cross rivers when building (they have the same restriction as a player). The only time they go to the next available spot clockwise, ignoring their location, is when they get a free building placement from an effect, like a manuscript.
At 23:44 do they HAVE to dismiss the card or is it optional?
Dismissing a card is always optional, see the back of the rulebook.
Good video.
Not getting the game, for sure.
Awesome. I think that’s the best response for our videos, sometimes, figuring out you do NOT want a game and saving money ;)

I love your content, but decided the game isn't for me.
Keep up the good work, your format is spot on.
