***Important rules error - I was playing that artifacts can be used twice the turn you buy them, but it's actually only once (they go straight into play). 27:46 Move the artifact to your play area. You have the option to immediately resolve its effect, ignoring the cost in the corner. But you can’t use it two times (it should be in the play area, not in hand)
Saw this and two expansions at my usual gaming store. I'd never heard of them, but after watching how smoothly this automa plays I will certainly be getting them. :)
@@OneStopCoopShopJust spotted you have videos for both expansions. :) As it's nearly 2:00 a.m. now (whoops...) I'll likely check those out later today. >_
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’m a bit confused about the Dig a Site action for the AI. Whenever he draws the “basic resource” tile, does it have to be a site with only that icon (Tablet) or doesn’t matter if that site is a mix with Tablet, Ruby and Compass???
It’s on page 20, but to summarize the AI wants to take ANY spot with that resource. When there are multiple, it takes the one in the highest row, then breaks left/right ties with the arrow on the back of the next card.
I knew I should've purchased this game over Robinson Crusoe which gave my friend and I boardgame ptsd😄. Lost Ruins of Arnak is colorful, diverse, and what a fun playthrough!
Robinson Crusoe is a much more satisfying and challenging game. If you achieve its objectives it is a WOW in satisfaction. This is a much much easier, lite, game. I think you chose,,,, wisely! 🧐
@@stevegeorge7773 I'll agree that RC is much more challenging. "Satisfying" is totally going to depend on the gamer and the group :) But honestly, except for sharing sort of a jungle theme, these two games are very little alike
@@OneStopCoopShop Except for the exploring. The decisions in RC are much more sophisticated and interrelated. The depth of play isn't comparable, for sure. But this game is great, in the space it fills.
Again, when you went to level 2 you did not pay the 6 compasses to defeat the first monster, yet you did for the second. Also, the artifacts, I thought come to your hand and though it does take an action, you get to use it free the first time. Then you place it with your other played cards (not use it right away paying the tablet) then it will get shuffled and put at the bottom of your deck at the end of the round. Thanks for the play thru!
The artifact play was definitely an error. I note it in the video description and the pinned comment. Sorry about that! As for the payment, like I replied to your first comment, I'm pretty sure I never forgot to pay the costs, I just didn't always pause the play to show that in detail.
Generally speaking it’s placing a worker and playing cards that cost an action to play (I forget which icon it is), and maybe researching too? I haven’t played in a bit
9:10 you go to explore level 1 temple. You could not go there unless you play 3 compasses and the jeep. You could do that if you cashed in your 2 green cards for 2 compasses and used the 1 you started with, but you did not announce that you were doing that.
Suggestion - maybe have the new logo at the top of the screen rather than the bottom as you cant see the wording when the default youtube timestamps are put across the bottom right of the screen grabs... :-)
Can you clarify what you mean, @steve? When I hover over the timeline while the video plays I see the time stamps and no logo. I must be misunderstanding
@@OneStopCoopShop For instance the word 'playthrough' is half covered up as is any word in that position, but the inserted timings of the video to the viewer. Happy to do screen shots if there was a way. Not talking about the main video but the small screens e.g. as seen in the 'up next' list

Correct. I added this as a note to the video already.
Those big turns were so satisfying to watch. I want to buy this game now. Thx for the video! :D
Best part of the game for me!
I am getting much John Mulaney vibes when you talk. I love it.
I will take that type of comment ANY DAY sir. Thanks for making my weekend :)
Nice! Well played Mike.
Loved those combos. Always feels good when you get on a roll.
This game offers that consistently. Probably its best aspect :)

The expansions are awesome, once you get the base game down. Hope you have fun!

Awesome game. Just got my hands on a copy and it was a lot of fun both solo and 3 players.
I'm happy you are having fun!
Thanx for this playtrough! Gonna try it myself tomorrow solo mode!
Awesome! Have fun :)
20:14 the AI should have removed a assistant

Robinson crusoe, for better or worse, certainly delves into that despair mindset 😅

So Arnak or Dune? If I gotta buy one?
If it has to be one or the other, I’d say Arnak if you will play solo more, Dune if you will play multiplayer more
And both, if you play with enthusiasm.
Still confused as what all is considered a free action and what is not.

Sorry if that was confusing, but yes, like I said at 9:00, I had 3 compasses (from the 2 cards and 1 token), and I spent them to explore.
That board is so badly thought out, they should have flipped it plus split it up into a couple of boards, who the hell has a table that deep lol
Between this and Under Falling Skies, CGE is all about the vertical these days :)

Personally this game was a flop for me, way overhyped
I didn’t love it either, or Dune Imperium. But they are both certainly popular!
